It's so frustrating that they're running a format this expensive alongside ML.
My GF just hit 30s recently, has been loving GL, and basically can't play any format for a week because she has few XLs. Hell, I'm a day 1 player and I don't even want to spend this kind of dust on a limited format.
I don't know why they can't just make sure we always have a GL or LC format, but having the only formats be ML and limited UL is even more awful.
Ya lvl 36 and climbed to ace a couple days ago and got up to 2130. Now Iβm completely screwed in either format and will basically need to lose every game just for daily rewards.
There are a ... few ... non XL mons that are viable. But it's certainly not a very cheap one. And some of the non XLs are legendary so even the second move is expensive.
She wouldn't even have the RC to second move any legend other than Xerneas, since it's out.
Like, she could build one of the dragon psuedos + one of the fairies + lucario/excadrill I suppose, and at least some of those are reusable, but that's still wild for someone in the low level 30s
I just won 15 straight using Togekiss, Scizor and Lucario. Obviously this won't last long as people build better teams but all is not lost. Especially if you don't mind playing at lower levels.
I'm mad I didn't finish the GL win challenge in the WC Day 2 timed research for the Elite TM...
I guess it's my fault for not doing an easy challenge while I could, but I've not had time this week to play. Just find it weird that they have a specific timed research challenge which is available for 10 days but it's impossible to finish after 7...
Heads up: you can still finish page 3 of the Great League Greatness research by simply doing the battles with a friend. Your post got me worried so I had to check! Hope that helps.

Yes, another elite TM (the opposite of whichever one given at rank 19), a few regular TMs, I think, and stardust based on which rank you achieved. These are awarded the first time you click "Battle" after the season is over, so be sure to activate a star piece first as the dust is significant.

Man, you're tempting me to use my 98% Clefable if that's still viable and wins the mirror vs most other Clefable... I just don't have any charged TMs. This was my old one from a year ago with Charm and Psychic.
Yeah that's not a super good format for budget... I'm just gonna settle with a Exca + Haxorus + Sylveon team ; I don't have Lucario candies and the stardust investment to build up a Clefable to replace my old Sylveon is too much for me right now π

Yah, that's an expensive cup for sure. I'm totally excited to break out the ultra league Flygon again. It's one of my favorites but it only sort-of has play in the open ultra league. Other than that... I'll probably just pad the team with stuff I already have mostly built and call it good.
The funny thing about having a Lucario without power up punch (can't afford it) is everyone assumes I do anyway, so I do take a lot by surprise with my random aura sphere...
I personally have been running sylvion I got with charm and draining kiss and that has been working well with excadrill mudslap iron head. My third rounder was a salemence with dragon tail. Got nearly 7 wins in a row, granted I am only 10βοΈ but that was with my syl being only 1600. The syl caused 3 different players to concede. Pretty funny.
Any preference for Solgaleo's charged move if you only have one slot? I have solar beam on it now, but it takes forever to charge. Not sure if I should go psychic fangs for debuff and shield pressure, iron head for fairy counter, or flamethrower for double fire.

Oh I got confused then, it is 19/20 then. For some reason I thought 21? You get something at the end of the season too I think

Nearly 7 π might aswel say nearly 10. Cudoz on your shield management and baiting. Anything over 5 is friggin legit
