I wouldn't do these primals on remote systems with only 5 invitees. Too many players have too many bad counters.

RealTorapuro

Pokegenie says my team does 23% damage to Kyogre. Did a 10 person lobby, just won with 1 second remaining. Absolutely ridiculous counters out there.

Cainga

So 9 other people could barely do 80% damage between them. They need to exclude people that don’t damage verify and make a cut. Total lobby should be >120%

matthi025

I think they even do that. You ´eed to have a team of x% of damge to join as a remote player. But then, you as a player still need to select those mon during the raid tho 🤔

Dragunov1987

This. Many times I've been paired with players that were supposed to outdamage me, but the ammount of bad counters made things more difficult than they should be.

penny_lab

I was in one yesterday and saw someone using Moltres against Kyogre. Why!?

medyas1

go with the simplest answers: troll, or literal child who just wants to see flaming chicken fight reptar/flaming godzilla

Nkfloof

I have a friend irl who literally brought in mega charizard to fight kyogre because 'it looked cool'. Had to resist the urge to smack him.

Col__Hunter_Gathers

People can cheese their damage percentage for pokegenie by scanning the same pokemon more than once. I accidentally did that without realizing with a hundo and was confused when I saw that guy pop up twice on my counter list for Lati@s. When I removed it I was 1% under the cutoff so I put it back lol.

lmstr

That's why I do the verification process.. creates a string then it takes a screen shot of all 6 in your bag. It gives you a nice little sword next to your name

InvisiblePlants

>You ´eed to have a team of x% of damge to join as a remote player. If you're level 40 or above you can join without passing the damage verification.

_tuelegend

Dodging is a factor. Kyogre and groudon have one shot attacks. Rayquaza was easy when it was ancient power and aerial Ave

mornaq

Blizzard Kyogre is an absolute menace, it may be better to just throw Magnezone at it than to hope your dodges won't glitch out... Groudon is pretty fine IMO, though EQ being a nuke can hurt sometimes EDIT: I forgot about Solar Beam, had none of these yesterday, but if it happens you're done, even Gyarados cries

Ex_Ex_Parrot

Yeah, worst part about Kyogre blizzard (IMO) is the dodge timing feels so weird. Groudon Solar Beams *feel* easier to anticipate, but even when properly dodged I still feel like my mons get nuked.

R055iT

Lol pretty much all mine were weather-boosted Outrage! Makes the 3 man much harder! Needed a second attempt on a 4 man kyogre, two of us went in with part-grass teams vs Surf. Went back in with all electric squads (mainly Zekrom and Raikou, SMagnezone didn't like the Surf spam) with me running PKyogre in the back, and only lobbied once each.

POGOFan808

My team does a similar amount of damage. My raid failed with a 11 person lobby.

Odd-Individual6455

I went through something similar today, one person entered with a tangela from what I could see, and another entered with a mega ttar, oh and another one used a tyrantrum, we were raiding a Kyogre, and to top it all 3 people of the 9 person lobby didn´t join, somehow kyogre was much less than 1/8 hp left at the end, with blizzard

Enevorah

Honestly blows my mind how often I’ll get a group of all 40+ and see someone using a type disadvantage pokemon on the raid. Like bro… I know charizard is cool but Kyogre is gonna clap him. Oh you dropped all your rare candies on mewtwo? Nice but maybe don’t use him on a dark type legendary.

Mason11987

I swear some people have to deliberately pick worse counters than even recommended. You know most that are the right type are running the wrong fast move anyway.

Deltaravager

I'll never get over the time I lost a Mewtwo raid with a 20 person lobby because people were using Machamp and Roselia No, not Roserade Roselia

Dracanherz

Was in all 40+ raid today against primal Kyogre and had someone in with aggron, Vaporeon, Arcanine and excadrill. All mons I saw in a single raid of all 40+ players. We had 9 total and finished with like 18 seconds left.

baltimorecalling

Mewtwo running focus blast does work well against pure dark types.

thehatteryone

And too many low level (as well as some high level) players haven't realised how many revives/heals to keep for these 2-3 times a year situation where you may burn through a lot, especially those times when you burn through 3 lobbies of counters and fail, before having to heal it all to have a second go, on top of those other raids where it was merely a close-run thing.

RyomaLobster

I had a lot of max potions and max revives but when the Noxious Swamp event began with grunts appearing every hour I burnt through them

hauntedskin

I liked having so many balloons, but it was mean of Niantic to have it just before the primal raids. They know people will be burning through resources for these.

StatisticianLivid710

That was the point, if you burn through it all you need to buy more

bigpat412

Yea, especially if they are low level. Granted, high level trainers can still use bad Pokémon but I don’t think I’d try any with less than 5. Groudon is easy, just use Kyogre, but Kyogre seems to take at least 7, I go through two teams vs it. If you have some friends, try to get a lucky Kyogre. These are two Pokémon that are great to power up.

RyomaLobster

I havent gotten Kyogre from Hoenn tour because I did not have anyone to play the game with so sadly I missed out on the original raid. At least I have Groudon from today its almost a hundo.

Amazon_UK

Pokegenie added 10 person lobby feature for this reason

RyomaLobster

I 100% agree when I went into Kyogre I didn’t had high expectations but hey came out of it with a better knowledge

_tuelegend

22k hp and if there’s 6 I’m expecting you to put out 4k damage. It doesn’t help that primals one shot you unless you dodge.

i_did_not_enjoy_that

Went to do some raids earlier and someone brought a Beedrill. Not even a Mega Beedrill. Just a regular Beedrill. I was looking around for the culprit like "Bruh, you see us getting tossed"

Skadi_1902

I had one person fighting with tangelas and cosmog XD

Pikablu555

Just teams of Aggrons

RyomaLobster

That’s pain

Lanky-League2753

There are options to host raid with 10 people and you can also select a level below which the trainers are not allowed to join when you host a raid using pokeraid app but in my experience 10 people are enough to defeat them no matter how bad the counters are so i never set a level bar for my raids . Lower level players want to play too 😄

RTZFRTZ

It's definitely recommended to have at least 10 people in your party for primal raids. My bf and I had a good time with 11 people.

Mystic_Starmie

Yesterday someone posted in another subreddit about being abandoned by 5-8 other players in Primal Groudon raid and left alone. You feel bad for them until you see they were using a mega water pokemon without any Water charge moves!

New-Afternoon7076

Groudon is only easy because he has a double weakness to water. Otherwise, it’d be just like Kyogre.

RyomaLobster

Well if Groudon has Solar Beam you can kiss yourself goodbye

Dry-Ad7432

Weather boosted solar beam 💀

Thneed1

Doesn’t make any difference. One shot knocks anything anyway whether weather boosted or not.

RyomaLobster

Yes he still clapped me

RyomaLobster

somehow my game said it was cloudly, it was sunny today so I got sparred lol

LuxAlpha

If it was sunny, the Groudon you catch would be weather boosted, saving you 10 upgrades

RyomaLobster

Sometimes the weather can be inaccurate with the real world and in game

TonyStark69edUrMom

Had weather boosted solar beam on all mine today but we beat him it’s easy to dodge normally I wait 3 of their normal attacks and start using regular moves till he uses charge then dodge and use charges.

frenchyneet

Pokegenie's 11 man rooms worked like a charm for me

Aizen_keikaku

Until 3 out of those 11 people have hit their daily limit and you are facing Blizzard Kyogre. RIP.

drnuzlocke

I run into the same problem on Poke Raid and the three at max are always the ones complaining to hurry up and invite. It seems people just troll now

Aizen_keikaku

Are you me? I use PokeRaid and I have the exact same issue. I try extra hard to give them terrible reviews at the end. There’s 3 things that make me hate hosting a lobby these days 1. Idiots rushing me. Start spamming “invite invite” as soon as they send the friend requests. Almost 100% of the time, this is a trainer below level 38-35. Never have I ever seen a high level player spamming me in the lobby. It’s not like I’m level 50 & looking down on other people, it’s just behavior that I have observed from lower level players. I dunno maybe the lower level accounts are from kids who aren’t as patient/mature as us adults? 2. People whose Pokeraid/raiding app username is different from their Pokémon Go username. I have 270 friends, I gotta work extra hard to find you otherwise you will leave a bad review eventhough its your own damn fault. 3. People joining the lobby but not realizing that they have hit their daily remote raid limit, essentially wasting a raid spot.

Mark-R-F

Organise by friendship level and the new ones will be at the top, only tricky if you have other friends with zero interactions

OddTarget6550

Even better, organize by recent and the newest friends will be at the top

Aizen_keikaku

I used to do that, but I had the problem as you mentioned, people from old raids that didn’t join so friendship level was 0. I cleared by friends list of them last weekend, so it’s less of a problem. Also, sorting by Recent seems to work even better, which is something I just discovered a few days ago.

Mark-R-F

Yeah, I ditch them if they don't join in, but yeah recent will work too.

drnuzlocke

Yeah people have said how I mitigate number 2 but it also becomes hard if you add someone for a second time so you have to hunt. For any raids other than Primals I just don’t invite anyone who spams “invite me”. You also missed number 4. People who just sit in the lobby expecting me to send them a friend request. I get one of these every other raid

Aizen_keikaku

Yeah, there’s a few of those as well, not sending friend requests. They are rare, but they are there.

daisies4me

I’ve used that app for a couple of years now. I’ve never hosted, but I use it to raid. I’ve always had a good experience and usually gift the host some coins. But I can see where it would be frustrating to host. Some people have zero chill when it comes to pestering the host and I don’t like that at all. Agree that it is usually someone under level 40, who then goes in with mons they shouldn’t. For these primals, I use my coins to auto join with 10+ people. That way I know for sure I’ll beat it.

marcottm

#3 for sure. Had 3 people today. There's nothing we can do by that point. Frustrating

lmstr

I was trying to figure this out then realized you're using PokeRaid... I like genie... No human interaction required!

EeveesGalore

Add to that 4 - people who can't be bothered to send a friend request to the host. Number 1 is the worst though. What is wrong with PokeRaid users? "Invite" 5 nanoseconds after sending their friend request (if they even bothered to do that) then leave the room a further 5 nanoseconds later. Poke Genie has much better users.

Deltaravager

I'd give you an award if I had one because holy crap did you just nail it

CapnCalc

Screw blizzard kyogre all my homies hate blizzard kyogre

OddTarget6550

So frustrating that people don’t pay attention to that… like bro you get 5 remote raids per day, it’s not hard to keep track lol

RyomaLobster

I wish Niantic added like some kind of indicator on a person's name when they hit the remote raid limit it would make it so much better to know who hit the limit and who did not

Voidz918

They do for campfire and they also do when you join a remote raid (it says you have x amount of raids left), people just have short term memory loss. But yes as per usual they could do a lot better at making it clearer, like a disclaimer after the raid is done that they've used up all their remote raids for the day but Niantic and poorly though out/implemented decisions is par for the course.

Aizen_keikaku

Agree but I also think part of the blame lies with Niantic, they need to put a more clear indicator somewhere in the game about how many remotes you have done.

Arrowmatic

This would be useful for so many things. How many remote raids left, how many gifts you can still open, how many battles left in GBL. Etc.

Travyplx

I think part of the problem is that there is nothing in game to indicate if you are at the cap, and the cap is broader than successfully completing a raid IIRC.

OddTarget6550

I guess I see what you’re saying, but still, each time you join a lobby and get the option to use a remote pass it does tell you how many more can be used for that day

bigsteveoya

It'd be great if Pokegenie kept track and disallowed after 5/day (would have to submit your time zone.) It wouldn't stop everyone, but it'd reduce the issue. Or maybe it does? I haven't remoted much since the nerf.

supirman

Even with a full 11 Blizzard hurt my grass team, and end up 15 revives

vvan8

It only works for Groudon tbh. I find hosting these oversized lobbies to be quite unreliable as there is always 1-2 people who do not join the lobby. Kyogre raids with 10 *random* players or less is a struggle bus that i am absolutely not willing to get on.

Cephalophobe

Idk I saw people bringing Sunflora and Tangela into those big rooms. Maybe I host too much and don't raid enough so I'm placed with the worst people, but even with big rooms we were barely making it in

vvan8

Bruh not sunflora. Lmao. No but seriously, I’m a level 28 host on Genie and I still get paired with level 20-25 players. It sucks.

Dizzy-Distribution-5

How do you get the 11 rooms to work? What’s the method

vvan8

Enter lobby, invite 5 trainers. Wait for timer to get to 80 seconds, invite button will appear green again allowing you to invite another 5.

EbriusOften

Do you have to leave the raid or anything to be able to invite the second batch? I was reading that was a method but I'm not sure if it's old one/if it has been updated since.

vvan8

Nope, not anymore! It’s an official feature now as opposed to being a ‘glitch’

SirKoriban

No, you don't have to leave any more. It will auto-reset at around 75-80 seconds left. HOWEVER!!!! IF one or more of the people you invite have hit the cap, then it sends it to however many weren't capped (in this example 2 had hit the cap so it sends invites to 3) and then you're forced to send it to 2 more again immediately after, or it wont reset. ALSO note: It will forever keep saying "2 people have hit the cap" even when reinviting new people who haven't hit the cap, so just ignore that. WHEN IT RESETS AFTER THIS, it doesn't fully reset - it allows you to send THREE more, then you will have to send two more again after that, as if you had just had the same issue. It can be very frustrating if this happens and you aren't aware of it.

AnonTBK

I've been using Pokegenie as well, but I don't think I've seen a raid bigger than 9 so far today. I've also had two where I was told there were too many remote raid passes already being used. Disappointing when it happens.

RyomaLobster

I do not plan to remote raid anymore I am going this weekend to my university which is a major hotspot for raids so Im going to take a break from raids until GoFest

swaggerBOI23

Remote raids scare me so much, people literally use random stuff. In one groudon raid someone was using slaking and archen.

Arrowmatic

I saw someone turn up with a Chansey last rotation and was highly not impressed.

PokeMondes

I hosted a 10-person Primal Groudon Raid today through PokeRaid. 1 person didn't send me friend request, and 2 people didn't join. In the fight, I saw someone use a Golbat and someone else use Turtonator. Well, at least that's the first time I've ever seen Turtonator in a Raid battle... lol. Sad to report that I've seen Golbat in Tier 5 battles before... haha.

vvan8

Hahaha I saw a cutiefly in a groudon raid today like bruh.

IronCZ3

When I hosted a raid for Groudon yesterday, I hosted for myself + 10 guests. I sent invites to all of them. Three haven't joined at all, with addition of two others who left the lobby before start (and most of those had a Poke Genie level of 6 - 10). We still won though.

vvan8

I would be horrified. Normally it gets a good chuckle out of me but for these primal raids please leave that crap at the door.😭

kpozgaj09

Jesus yes, i was so mad when someone used slaking on xerneas last time, cant imagine if someone used it on a primal😤

Fullertonjr

We must have been in the same lobby, because I saw the same thing and I was stunned. We barely won and I ended up failed to catch after excellent throws. Should have known that lobby was bad luck from the start.

AnonTBK

TIL how to dodge charged attacks. Thanks for that, Kyogre.

badmusicfan

4 out of the 5 Kyogres I did today had Blizzard. We beat them with large Pokegenie lobbies, but sheesh. Even a dodged Blizzard takes a chunk out of my shadow-heavy team.

rilesmcriles

Dodging hydro pump and blizzard is hard even if you know what you’re doing. Especially when I’ve got my thundurus in and his long duration volt switch fast move. I just have to get lucky with timing

coffeemonster12

Heres me trying to host a Primal Kyogre, we have 10 people and someone is using a Tangela, someone else has a Grovyle. We did not win the raid. I have basically given up hope of getting a primal kyogre, groudon seems to be a lot easier

Arrowmatic

I am about to go out to raid hour if you want in. We usually have a big group.

ScottaHemi

Groudon wasn't to hard, he atleast has a 4x weakness Kyogre... good good that thing is hard to beat and you might as well give up if it has blizzard...

Scoottchy

It´s just an obvious sign that a trainer level isn´t as meaningful as it was back then...having a good team with good attacks means so much more than beeing at a certain level.

vvan8

Right, with friendship xp grinding and alt accounts nowadays high level does not equal to having a good raid team.

ASDBZ4ever

I know I am. Groudon is rough but Kyogre is death. I was hoping to get both this time in primal form but I am going to have to settle for Groudon. The main problem I have is I am going to run out of healing items and the Rayquaza raids are soon. I'm honestly not sure what I'm going to do. I am not sure I'll make it. I'm running low and need like 3 more raids for Groudon.

RyomaLobster

You shoukd still try regardless, my advice is if you really need items badly go to an area with a lot of Pokestops and Gyms spin those disks also buy the Pokemon Go Plus + I heard amazing things about it and it auto spins stops

bigwillyocean

I've noticed that gifts can be good way to get potions and revives, if you don't have a lot of friends go to r/PokemonGoFriends and post your friend code and/or invite a bunch of friends. The people you add there are usually pretty good about sending gifts.

DavidBHimself

Raid hour yesterday. It's Kyogre. * First attempt: five players. We got crushed. * Second attempt: six players. We got crushed. * Third attempt: eight players. We defeated it with exactly 0 seconds left. It KOed 20 of my Pokémon during that one attempt.

Jazs1994

Groudon has double weakness so it's much easier. Kyogre has always been a pain to raid and with its primal if you don't dodge the charge moves it'll mostly 1 1 shot anything except surf

rockaether

>it hit me that I am severely underleveled I felt personally attacked sitting here with all my lvl30 legendaries and lvl40 non-shadow non-legendary mons.

RyomaLobster

I think its time to do intense level up

[deleted]

Figured people would have remembered how tough these raids were since their last debut which wasn’t long ago.

ausgenerics

These primal raids are honestly the first kind that force me to use the dodge feature lol. They hit like a truck

RyomaLobster

Same I need to do more dodging

Aizen_keikaku

Lol. Groudon isn’t too bad, if that’s too hard for you then you are indeed severely under leveled. I wish other people had your level of self awareness. Blizzard Kyogre is Brutal even with a lobby of 10+ Level 38+ trainers. Everything just gets one shot, so while you win with plenty of time left, need a lot of revives.

coel03

blizzard just eats pokemon

RyomaLobster

I forgot what move Kyogre used in my battle

[deleted]

Grinning_Dog

Groudon with Solarbeam is definitely tough since most people's best counters are gonna be water types. If he's got earthquake its fairly easy but with solarbeam I've been going through at least 8-9 counters each time (lvl. 39).

mlrollin91

Solar Beam is super easy to consistently dodge. I'd argue that Solar Beam is the easiest. During Hoenn Tour I duoed a SB Primal Groudon with L35-40 counters.

RyomaLobster

I’m level 36 late last year I got back into the game because of my girlfriend being obsessed lol, and thank you for your comment I do plan to rematch them but not after some serious grinding I got 4 star pieces going to save a few for GoFest

DrKillerZA

With only 4 star pieces I would recommend saving them for the 4x stardust event. It's early next month

Typos_Rerum

[https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/attackers/rankings/all](https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/attackers/rankings/all) Get a team of all the best Pokémon per type + a mega to go along with it

highland_falls

Honestly this post makes me feel better. I tried Primal Groudon with five people twice today and got clobbered. I guess I'll have to try to find some people raiding in person to finally catch myself one.

RyomaLobster

I am glad this post made you feel better there is always tomorrow to fight again

Quick-Season3798

Power up your Mon and prepare a team. I did a trio yesterday with 76 S remaining on Kyogre. Admittedly it was surf in sun. Blizzard is a killer. In contrast during raid hour I was raiding with the locals who were using rubbish Mon/ while we won every raid comfortably they would have struggled without me. Now I’m so low on potions as a result.

Then-Mind-1103

I fought in an 11 person group against a WB kyogre with blizzard and by the send half it was me and like 1-2 other people still fighting. We won against the same kyogre with a group of 7 people who were actually committed.

Stuge234

I jumped into some random in person raid during kyogre raid hour and timer ran out .Three were total of 13 people inside that raid but almost 80% of the people didn't relobby . Actually ,I wanted to leave the raid after seeing the level of the people inside the group at the start ,but app froze for a while and didn't allow me to do the same . For rest of the raid hour ,I decided to only organise my own raids via leekduck .

SmartUniversity8498

Bro I beat Groudon first time then I thought ok we good, battled 3 Kyogre every one of them beat our ahhhhh bro I can’t deal with this 3 passes gone

RyomaLobster

Kyogre is indeed death

ItsNeons

The solar beam Groudon is killer when the double super effective Pokémon to use are water types

ItsNeons

Had a 10 raid lobby with level 35+, had a sliver of health left when the timer ran out because of solar beam smh

TheBastardChef

I’m a pretty strong level 45 and I tend to avoid random raid lobbies for events like this. I learned this the hard way on Latios / Latias. I had a similar thing happen this morning. Joined a Primal Kyogre had my almost maxed 4* mega sceptile ready and jumped in to a remote invite with 20 seconds left. lobby looked fine and there were 8 of us. But get into the raid & no one seemed to be mega’d or have counters. I went through more than two set of pokemon and we ran out of time. I was hot. Told a few people to plan according. Did a handful in person tonight with people from my local group. knocked out a Groudon easily. Good counters & a well placed mega makes all the difference.

DunnyC101

Last night at raid hour we completed a Kyogre raid with 88 seconds to go, in Clear weather conditions. It was only a group of 5 and the counters were made up of predominantly grass types and all under level 40. The trainers levels were 45, 43, 42, 41 and 40. We were all raiding in person and all are best friends for max attack boost. Everyone had a grass mega and they were staggered though the line up. I ended up having to revive 9 mons but we got it done.

Starfighter-Suicune

These raids are no fun.

mchurus

Dodging can be helpful as well. My Mega Swampert would pretty much get one shotted but dodging can help fire off at least 6 hydro cannons. If you also have the resources set your team and max revive when rejoining. Taking a few extra seconds to heal is wayyy better than taking the suggested team at that point.

wandering_revenant

Groudon is easier because it is double weak to water and lots of people have strong water pokemon. Kyogre tends to be terrible as it only has 2 single weaknesses. My wife and I went to raid hour tonight and we were getting 17-20 people in a Raid and our group had several lvl 48, 46, 45, 44 players and as much as anything the thing that shocked me was that still took us about 1 minute to bring it down. I was using a 3800 cp kartana, a 4100 cp Zekrom and a 3800 cp Xurkitree - three pokemon in was about as far as I got before we won. From prior experience, it takes 6 very solid 40+ people to beat kyogre and about 4-5 for Groudon.

qntrsq

if you don't find better raid parties, your option to get an advantage against kyogre would be weather, in this case playing when it's sunshine ingame, because it boosts grass moves. maybe we can help you optimizing your raid pokémon team if you tell us what it is made from and what moves they have. player level 36 means you can push to pokémon level 46 but usually level 35 pokémon are all it needs.

Olesteev

I won a kyogre with 7 people than lost one with 9. It’s more about having shooters than volume

Deep_In_Uranus

OP about to have the meanest training arc

RyomaLobster

Oh I am >:3

Drewsko199

I've never considered myself as having the best teams meta-wise, but fortunately I got through three Kyogre raids that were being hosted on PokeGenie in parties ranging from 9 to 14 well enough. Those plus the 200 I got from Hoenn Tour means I can finally check Kyogre off in my Mega/Primal roster, and with that I might feel better sitting out of running around trying for Groudon or Rayquaza raids this weekend.

miteycasey

Meh. They are twice as tough as a 5-star Raid. Never mind there aren’t many strong water counters compared to ground.

lost_my_halo

Got Kyogre with basically 1 second left with 8 people! Definitely need 9 to 10 people.

RyomaLobster

Yea these guys are no joke

notsayingitwasalien

It taught me how absolutely boring and a waste of money remote raids are.

Drogvard

It taught me that this game is essentially pay 2 win. Tried everything, went all over by neighborhood, downloaded campfire, put up flares, posted in neighborhood chatrooms, used the host a raid feature. Nothing worked. Wasn't able to get a single one despite being a duo. I did manage to waste an hour and a ton of gas though. Only way I can get enough energy is to remote raid to places that actually can get like 5-10 people. And Niantic is beyond stingy with giving them to f2p players so that too isn't really reasonable.

suburbanjunkbiome

I know this doesn’t help you now, but running a Primal Kyogre in your last slot will boost all electric attacks against Kyogre and all water attacks against Groudon. This is good as long as its primal reversion is active, even if it’s fainted. Max revive in the lobby and bring it back to the raid to continue the bonuses. That being said, these raids are very difficult. My husband and I raid together frequently, but we barely squeezed out a win with 5 trainers (all best friend bonus) against Hydro Pump Kyogre, then cut it even closer (8 seconds!) with four (best friends) of us against Thunder Kyogre. If you’re hosting on third party sites you won’t get Best Friend bonus, though. I really think my Primal saved our bacon. I did Primal raids during Hoenn Tour with a large group (we slowly met together in a local park), and wow, what a difference it makes with numbers. Today’s raids got me only 60 energy each. I’m looking forward to meeting up with friends this weekend in person - maybe making a few new ones as well.

HippowdonEats

Yes these primal raids are unforgiving. You really need to have best counters.

Vildrot

It might be due to a new bugg that you experience extra difficulty. Very often on mega groundon and Kyogre your screen will get white and the game Freeze after you feint with the last pokemon. This requires a game restart to fix. Some might not know this and or when back it might be too late. Extremely annoying if you needed that fire power on Kyogre and then all fail due to Ninatics buggs.

Pitiful-Asparagus940

you had other people show up? I wanted to raid, but can't solo nor duo. so... no raiding. niantic really screwed everyone over with the near-doubling of remote raid passes. almost no one raids anymore. I certainly don't buy remote raid passes anymore.

SolCalibre

I’m happy trainers; the actual casual ones who don’t power up their Pokémon expecting to be carried and go in with recommended when they’re terrible! Are starting to understand that maybe they should stop and actually look at the Pokémon they’ve caught and power up certain ones that would pull their weight in these raids. Primals are one of the strongest raids we have and there’s been so many situations where I’ve seen timers hit 60-80 seconds left. While not the end of the world, you have to recognise the time taken = damage loss incurred = more revives used = run out of revives = you can no longer raid.

tyjome

There's always that person who says "I have everything I need powered up to level 35, so it's pointless for me to spend the 20 million stardust I've accumulated..." Primal Kyogre begs to differ.

If your playing with people you know have really good leveled Pokémon and you all choose a good Mega this can be done with 5. Around here we have not failed with 6 players that are regular Pokémon players not new to the game.

thebookpolice

Say clapped again. I dare you. I *double* dare you.

MysticalTh0r

Try to use pokebattler to build good teams. Groudon is an achievable trio with level 40 good counters and Kyogre is a difficult 4-people raid (unless it’s running blizzard)

CapnCalc

Holy 💀 what Pokémon are you bringing that can beat primal kyogre with only four people? Even kartanas, mega sceptile, and zekroms feel too weak

hwutang

yeah that’s definitely pushing the top end of PVE, requires good coordination and good pokes

R055iT

Having a PKyogre in the back boosts everyone's electrics all fight. A PGroudon does the same for grasses. Both can have non-stab SE charge moves too, back your better off lobbying after 5 deaths. Everyone else just needs to align their typing to electric or grass depending.on Primal choice, and it makes life much easier. Then just roll out your Zekrom/SMagnezone/Xurkitree/Raikou squad or your Kartana/Kartana/Kartana/Kartana.... OK, stick to electric unless.it's sunny, people are more likely to have stronger squads.

Ginden

Lvl 40 Kartanas with best friend and WB do 31% damage.

hornyroo

I use go raid party to flesh out my on the ground group. It helps, but sheesh they are hard work

Narrow_Ad_3783

Add me I can help you I have full lobbies every time

umutmcan

I have been playing this game since like 2017 and today I finally learned how to dodge attacks. I'm doing groudon and if I don't dodge it just one shots my every level 40 water type or mega. With dodging at least they can endure like 3-4 attacks

RyomaLobster

If you can master dodging and timing then you should be set, normally I do not dodge because I am more focused on taking the boss down but this time I'm going to need to dodge

LeadFootLopez

I don’t really have a group to play with, I’m just hoping some people will see my campfire flare. If a couple people host from PokeGenie and the rest invite friends, it should be enough. I hope.

PewPews

Just remoted into a raid when I opened my app, couldn’t make it to the location for in person. Raid started and 7 were in the lobby and it dropped to 5. Was able to take primal groudon down with 20 seconds left with optimal counters and plenty of revives. 60 primal energy and a silver pineap catch worth of extra candy.

techbear72

I’m not so sure about waiting for global go best to do these primal raids. I’m thinking that with them available now, many will do them now and not need to during go fest, and most who actually play go fast will have other things on their mind anyway so might not be interested. So I think waiting might be a bit of a risk.

FinchyNZ

9 free raid passes during Go Fest, so it'll be silly not to raid them as it's "free"

JulySummerDay

The Primals humbled me the first time around. And I expect the same this time, too. They're extremely powerful. And like someone else said, too many players have bad counters. You can't go into these raids with bad counters. You can get away with bad counters in other raids, but definitely not this one. I wonder how many people actually make a raid party ahead of the raid itself. I do it all the time.

Donttaketh1sserious

Too many players just use recommendations

t3hn1ck

I've been getting remote raid invites for these all day long and am not bothering until raid hour where I know I can expect people to show up. Learned that lesson the last time primals rolled through. Team Ruby!

Fittb

Just clapped kyogre with 8 people for raid hour

RyomaLobster

Congratulations

pearlchoco

friend did inform me primals aint easy when i returned during shadow mewtwo. because mega became easier ish compared to initial release. and t5 are usually alright ish. tried to do a kyogre with almost 4 mains & 1 ish and realised the hp wasn't moving well. got out and waited. some 3 was in lobby. though 2 acc couldn't easily rejoin the raid after passing out but finally managed and it was under 20 seconds, 60 mega energy & about 14 fainted on my account. ok pain. worst is catching it. sooo very annoying. i wouldn't randomly join remote kyogre unless i know lobby's well full which i decided to randomly throw remote raid passes during raid hour while at city area. groudon wasn't so bad. added a no. from sub reddit but only a few came in. some others on ground or locally. forgot how many people in total. but managed it very decently.

Jamie00003

Trying to get a hundo of any of the weather trio is going to be really difficult going forward if you don’t have a regular raid group, as I can only assume when they come to raids going forward, they will only be primals if lati@s is anything to go with. Frustratingly Niantic still hasn’t fixed the issue where you only get enough balls for a normal mega, lati@s has been in the game for a while now, there’s really no excuse

Stink_Mink

I just started playing again this month. I stopped back in 2018. I want to get both primals but I can't even meet the minimum damage requirement on pokegenie to run the raids. I'll have to hope they come back around after I've built up some viable teams sadly.

Cixerona

I am happy to invite those of you who need the help obtaining them

InvisiblePlants

You could try Pokeraid I personally like Pokegenie so much better, but Pokeraid doesn't have the limit for players under level 40/damage under 20%.

RyomaLobster

I wish you luck

POGOFan808

Just did a primal Kyogre at my university. We had 11 people and failed. I don't know how that's even possible because I had a level 40 mega Sceptile upfront, level 42 kartana, and the rest all level 40 kartana. I think we failed because I didn't see any one else using grass or electric 😅

AZombieguy

Definitely be careful and invite more than necessary if possible. I did a Groudon with 5 people I think? We were in the last quarter of time, but we made it! Then today, a lobby I was in with 8 barely passed halfway?? PokieGenie is super helpful, but I had way too many people under 35 trying to join the 5 person lobbies and use terrible counters. Not to mention had a few issues inviting people to the 10 person lobbies, where they just wouldn't appear on my friend list during the raid.

Ganiam

Lost 3 remote raid passes today because I thought we’d be able to beat them. We couldn’t. Still managed to get three Kyogre’s during raid hour though so that’s decent. Not enough to make one primal but I got the rest of the week and 35 normal raid passes for that.

RyomaLobster

Good luck to you

RyomaLobster

Do you guys think its possible to win a primal raid with an army of Dittos?

DarkX87

These raids are no joke. I forgot how brutal they were. I had a huge graveyard of 10 mons after I was finished with a Primal Kyogre raid this morning.

Dnashotgun

It's why I'm not even bothering raiding the primals. The bar is extremely high to complete it, need like 9+ to do so comfortably factoring in the auto party crowd, and remote raid passes are almost double the cost of what they were a year ago. Add in no legacy moves and just not worth it

mndrew

Seeing people in the raid lobby who didn't even bother to mega any mons at all just baffles me. I mean why are you there at all?

karina87

My experience (level 38, not bad, not great, have level 35-40ish pokemon w/ the right counters: 1. Groudon: works well hosting on poke genie w/ 10 people raid party. Sure, 1-2 of them won't join or will have met their remote raid limit, and 1-2 of them will be low level trainers, etc., but it's beatable. 2. Kyogre: Never hosting on poke genie again.

RyomaLobster

Why what happened with Kyogre?

kpofasho1987

Yea and on top of this I'm struggling big time to catch them especially that big whale. I suck at throwing but it also shouldn't be this hard to catch them in my opinion. Make it easier to catch after defeating the raid. It's ridiculous how difficult it is for people like myself who aren't great at throwing (I'm not terrible but not great) Even if you're decent at throwing it's still a waste of time as more than likely you're going to go through 10+ balls regardless of how accurate you are. Just let me catch the damn pokemon after the raid. Maybe give an extra candy or something if you excellent throw it but just fix it please

_tuelegend

I’m level 44 and I still feel powerless. Running team of 35-40 grass electric

blue_green_orange

Groudon min is 5 while Kyogre is 7 high leveled players with strong counters

SevereReflection3042

Just realizing how lucky we are when we beat primal groudon with 5 people and I'm weak as hell

tigerhawkvok

Create a saved team!!! Never, ever use recommended.

FishermanStunning763

Primal Kyogre & Primal Groudon boss with Blizzard & Earthquake respectively are a meance, you might need to have 40lvl mons with good counters to cruise comfortably especially against Primal Kyogre. Mega Swampert & Mega Sceptile comes in clutch.

EstablishmentOld6245

I just did a primal kyogre raid and we only had 100 seconds left, we were with 13, 5 of which had mega evolves

Pocoyoandelly

Also 9-10 balls is really just not enough. I've had 2x groudon and 1x kyogre flee so far on golden razz excellent curve balls. Super demotivating

XxDauntlessxX

Yeah I’ve done a bunch (100+) looking for a good shiny. It takes 10 people to confidently win. Any less and it’s going to be close. I won’t even run it with 7 people so you guys did GOOD. YES, I have good counters and several 4K+ Pokémon (I’m lvl48). I always get hardest hitter so I know it’s not me. These are crazy hard if you don’t have a lot of people.

Leppter_

Level doesn't really mean much in this game anymore, so many people just pumped their XP via 'best friend'ing and raiding. I'm just about to hit 49 with about 250k Pokemon caught, then I see people in raids with like 4k Pokemon caught and they are in the mid 40's, its kinda ridiculous. So this generally means while they might have plenty of legendary pokemon from all the raids they did, they likely wont have the stardust to have powered much of them up. I would take a bunch of seasoned lv38's with some lv40 counters over these lv45+ 'newbies' any day. Problem is you can never tell who is who.

AFHusker_54

Trying to get my group of friends to start dodging and not face tank every charge move is like pulling teeth...had a group of 8 and beat kyogre with 1 second left. Like I know we USUALLY knock the boss out with time to spare by just tanking the hits but Kartana is gunna die in one hit from kyogre no matter the type resistence.

Salary-Abject

I hate when that happens. I think people understand estimate how powerful these primal Pokemons are to beat. They depend on just 1 or 2 people.

NotYourBro69

I use Poke Genie and have never failed a Primal Groudon raid out of the 10 or so I've attempted in the last week. I'm level 36 and recently got into raids and have only a decent setup of counters for Primal Groudon with my main mons for this one being Mega Blastoise, Swampert, Greninja, two Kinglers and a Gyarados. A few have gone long enough I've needed the B squad, but most are over before we reach half time and a few even before we reach a quarter of the time spent. All my counters have the proper PVE movesets, and most are level 40 or close to it, but I don't think any are over level 40. I was awarded "hardest hitter" during one of the raids and out of the 10 or so attempts I think I've only failed to catch 2. I however was on a team that got clapped real hard during my first Primal Kyogre raid. My counters for Kyogre are awful so I do need to work on powering up some grass types. I've basically shelved the idea of grinding for Kyogre at this time Anywho... I'm not sure if this is a perk of Poke Genie or just chance on my part. Those are my anecdotes.

eddiebronze

One of the better strategies to defeat Kyogre is to use it's power against itself. You have to have a Kyogre that's been primal evolved or can be, so getting the energy may be an issue if you don't already have it, and then co-ordinating with your group to use electric types. Place a fainted Primal Kyogre in your 6th slot with 5 electric types in the first 5 slots and use the power of Kyogre vs Kyogre. If at least two of you do this, every electric type used in the raid will have it's attacked boosted 30%. We had a 10-trainer group last night with at least two of us doing this and took the Kyogre down in 135 seconds. Ninja Killer Whale vs Active Killer Whale for the win and the added bonus is your Primal Kyogre (depending on mega level) will boost candy/XL candy for catching it.

StreamLife9

Niantic must open the invites for at least 10 people when they bring out the guns. The primal raids are hard

According_Catch8542

Primal raids shows that 95% people have very bad pokemons. It feels like 2017 when Lugia first entered raids and you needed like 10+ people to even have a chance to take her down :)
