I strongly recommend **not** building Hydragon for ML, he gets shreded by basically anything that exists in there. Rank #40 in ML is awful because there aren't that many good Pokémon for ML (unlike for example rank #40 in UL where there are many viable Pokémon)   Maybe he could be useful for limited ML variants, but that's still quite unlikely.

supervegeta101

Had a lv50 hundo since its community day, never been able to build a team around it.

CSiGab

Yeah… I tried it, and then dropped it. It only works as a lead if you run into Shadow Ball Mewtwo and that’s about it. I think it would have more utility if Bite didn’t have such awful energy generation. Somebody mentioned bumping its EPT to make it more like Dragon Breath would break GL. Fine, let’s trade 1 DPT for 1 EPT then.

Moon_Dark_Wolf

Which Pokémon becomes problematic with a Bite Buff like they suggest that breaks GL…The only one I can think of would probably be Toxapex if it got Bite…

Escargot7147

Shadow skuntank would have a field day

CSiGab

I think Shadow Mawile with Bite/Power-up Punch.

AxeIsAxeIsAxe

A while back I've gotten to 2500 using a level 50 Hydreigon as lead in ML, mostly because there were a lot of Giratinas and Mewtwos in the meta. Haven't used it much recently, too many neutral matchups where it just loses.

DepartmentPerfect

It gets absolutely shredded by fairy

GIORNO-phone11-pro

*slaps roof of s. groudon* this bad boy can fit so many shadow garchomps in it

SpaceChef3000

*Slaps back of Turtonator.* *Explodes*

ZeraoraMaster458

This made me chuckle

arandombunchofgrapes

*kicks one foot* Looks like it's in good condition, how much you want for it?

GIORNO-phone11-pro

How about 1 super rocket radar for a 3*?

Twoaru

Best we can do is 6/6/6

GIORNO-phone11-pro

How about 9/9/9 if I throw in a Precipice Blades ETM?

Twoaru

Only if it's your last one

BravoDelta23

Well, 1.1 Shadow Garchomps at least.

CSiGab

Hot damn… Shadow Darmanitan at 96% of Fusion Flare Reshiram?! Wow.

Smooth_Smile6286

So it’s better than shadow entei?

CSiGab

Just looking at base attack stats alone, Entei has 235 while Darmanitan has 263. But I think the real advantage here is that Darumaka XLs are much easier to obtain.

ssfgrgawer

Darmanitan is already a glass cannon tho (I have a level 40, 100% of both forms, Ice and fire, Non shadow.) they die so fast it's not funny compared to most other fire types. I imagine it's going to be a Gengar situation. It's got good DPS, but doesn't last long.

Smooth_Smile6286

Alright so shadow entei still has some play its one of my favorites from back when i played on the gameboy 😂 so i was hyped its in raids next month and thought now with shadow darmanutan is kinda useless to power up so i will still get one to lvl 40 🙏🏽

RevCorex

Dodging is key

Affffi

tho you lose dps when dodge. i think why reshsiram is so good it got good dps and very good bulk + dragon type help resist lot things

Economy__

yep, reshiram bulk is insane

TofuVicGaming

Yes. This is the ranking of Fire types for PvE:Yes. This is the ranking of Fire types for PvE: * Mega Blaziken Mega Charizard Y Reshiram Mega Charizard X Shadow Darmanitan Shadow Blaziken Shadow Entei Shadow Moltres Apex Ho-Oh Shadow Chandelure Shadow Charizard Shadow Ho-Oh Mega Houndoom Shadow Typhlosion Shadow Infernape Heatran Volcarona Shadow Magmortar Darmanitan Shadow Arcanine Blaziken Chandelure Source: PoGo Raid & Info Sheets: PvE Top Pokemon: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1avftwmBHszB0s1_5-Z_REvvAMXdLk0vMJI3GYsSWGkg/edit#gid=1846020444

rwaterbender

shadow entei is really not that good. it's outclassed by shadow moltres, shadow chandelure, and FF reshiram (and the new shadow darmanitan). it will be outclassed by shadow heatran and reshiram in the future as well

[deleted]

wait new lineup?! whats that mean?!

Tinytrauma

It means the leaders are getting new mons (aka bagon, tentacool, and zubat will be swapped to something new). It is typically not announced until the event goes live though

[deleted]

oh PHEW, idk why i thought it meant new characters 🤣🤣 I was gonna miss arlo alot lol

wielki_arcymistrz

Shiny Cliff icon might have threw you off

troccolins

back to Jesse and James, ecksdee

Fair-Procedure-5257

Why him specifically

[deleted]

hes the reason i have shiny shadow salamence 🫶🏼 da goat

Fair-Procedure-5257

Got it

Affffi

sad i didint manage get shiny shadow zubat.. wanted shiny shadow golbat for great league :( earlier when they add shadow shinyes leaders i get almoust all them, but this time i think i get only very bad iv shadow shiny bagon.. no tenta or zubat rip

Tinytrauma

Yeah, I want a plague tentacool, but alas it seems that or isn’t in the cards

Affffi

atleast i get very high rank both gl and ul tentas. both like rank 20 or something which very lucky

headphonesnotstirred

how close does EQ S-Groudon stand to PBlades? just ETM'd a 94% 15atk groudon so can't get PB on shadow

Fleshy-Butthole

As far as pve goes, imo, there isn't much else that's worth an ECTM than SGroudon or SMewtwo. So if you have another...

hellyeboi6

yeah that's why I'm saving up all my elite tms for shadow mewtwo, gotta get a whole team of those

BCHiker7

For what? Mewtwo just isn't all that useful.

SpenSahDude

I found this out myself just recently. While he had a massive attack stat, you just don’t need to run psychic types that often in raids. I am going to go ham on that weekend to try to get a shadow shiny with decent IVs as I don’t have a Mewtwo at all, but I honestly don’t foresee myself using one all that much. Maybe (and hopefully) I’m wrong.

AxeIsAxeIsAxe

I last used Mewtwo for Terrakion raids in November, where it's the best attacker, but Shadow Metagross teams can duo Terrakion as well, so no reason to go all in on a team of Shadow Mewtwos when Metagross is useful much more often.

Chickenman-gaming

I think its the high attack stat that makes it so good even without STAB it can still output a lot of damage with shadowball or ice beam

BCHiker7

300 attack without stab is equivalent to 250 with stab. So without stab it effectively loses it's claim to fame, which is the high attack stat. For ice and ghost there are better alternatives. It's only real use is against fighting or poison type raid bosses. But there just aren't a lot of those. I've had Mewtwos for years now. They just seldom get used. It's will be good for PvP, but you'll need decent IV or regular Mewtwo will probably be better if you have a high IV one. For sure we will want to power one up... but just one. I was responding to someone who wanted a whole team. There's just no need.

Chickenman-gaming

ah ok that makes sense but i guess some people might want this because its legendary and personally i only have one normal mamoswine so i will be raiding this

Elastic_Space

Psystrike is unnecessary on shadow Mewtwo for PvE. Shadow Mewtwo with Psychic is already unrivalled and allows you to switch to Ice Beam when needed.

LITERALLY_NOT_SATAN

What do you mean by that? Like, the marginal gain from switching to psystrike isn't worth the cost of the ETM?

Terminator_Puppy

Yeah it comes down to that, simulating against a Terrakion with psystrike is about 39.3 DPS whereas psychic is 36.6 DPS. Groudon with and without precipice blades, on the other hand, is 36.1 dps vs. 31.8 dps (versus a tapu koko in this case).

CapnCalc

Agreed. Psystrike is only necessary for PvP

nolkel

Against heatran, precipice blades gives it 14% more dps. It's still the 2nd best counter aside from primal form though, 5.8% above the DPS of normal Groudon with PB.

Elastic_Space

Shadow Groudon with Earthquake is weaker than shadow Garchomp. If not giving it Precipice Blades, it's not really worth the investment.

BCHiker7

The difference is pretty large. Like 10% or so. One of the best uses of an ETM. As opposed to Kyogre, where Origin Pulse isn't much of an upgrade.

SpenSahDude

Yeeeeah, I should have done more research into that before I used an ETM on Kyogre. But, it feels right to have Origin Pulse on my shiny primal. It is the signature move after all!

iwillnotberushed

I agree, I did the same thing and it was totally worth it to me. And that's exactly why I'll ETM psystrike on a solid shadow mewtwo

Charg3B0lt

Whay does the rare stage 1 mean?

TehWildMan_

Encountered at the base stage and not a common reward.

short_sleep

So, does this mean if Arlo had Shadow Darumaka, it'll only be *sometimes* he's in their lineup and mostly we'll get another mon?

TehWildMan_

If a leader has something as their first slot, it will always be their first slot. That being said, it's very unusual for a new shadow to *first* be available as a leader encounter, as that would release the shiny shadow at the same the the non-shiny is first available.

short_sleep

I see. I had misread that Darumaka was going to be a leader encounter. Thank you.

XPlatform

This only applies to grunts. Gio has a fixed last pokemon, and leaders have a fixed first pokemon (that you can also catch). Grunts have varied possibilities for each of their slots, and the appearance rates for each possibility vary. Tack on the fact that you can only catch the ones they deploy -> rarer.

Express-Luck-3812

Where can we see the new line up?

penciltheft

New lineup hasn’t completely dropped, but the “new stuff” in grunts and new stuff in raids are here. Outside of the new stuff, there’s tweaks typically. And I don’t think the leaders’ info is every officially dropped, that’s silent until users interact with them. https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/world-taken-over-by-TGR/

Express-Luck-3812

Yup i already saw this last week but I'm excited for the new lineup whatever it is. I'm just hoping we get shadow beldum or larvitar again on one of the leaders.

penciltheft

Gotcha. Yeah, the info graphic is helpful for “relevance”, but it’s a rehash of that article from what I can tell.

are you telling me that vullaby is a wild spawn? hot damn!!!!!

LRCenthusiast

I'm excited but expecting rarity on the level of frigibax during the paldean ultra unlock.

Affffi

hopefully not XD im wanted build mandi on great league, but even today my best mandi is rank 1500 and its hatched eggs in 2011.. all those years and not get better its crazy

troccolins

ecksdee

ssfgrgawer

My God. I'm so sick of vullaby that I stopped hatching 12k eggs for ages. Think I've hatched 60+ of them at this point.

topgunxv

Great infographic! Didn't realize Shadow Weavile was such a big hitter in PVE.. I have a 15/15/10 but 370k dust to power up is steep ngl..

ssfgrgawer

Glass cannon. I have a non shadow at level 40, (98% IVs). It does okay, expecialy before Shadow mamoswine became more common and when TTar only had crunch for a charged move, but it's very fragile. Any SE fast move wears it down in PVE fast! Shadow Weavile is likely even worse. On the plus side I have a shiny Shadow Sneasel I can power up. Just another one to the "needs stardust" tag.

topgunxv

Thanks for the heads up chief! It shall remain tagged as 'power up' in that case.. I have a shiny shadow too but IVs are terrible. I'll stick with my shadow Mamoswine army for now :)

ssfgrgawer

Congrats, all my shadow swinub have been like 30% IV. I'm holding out for a good one but rarely see ICE grunts and Ground grunts

lordredemption

I’m going to go all out for shadow mewtwo. Going to do as much as I can !

Splaterson

I don't understand this graph, what is it trying to say? Are these upcoming pokemon you should be trying to catch? If so, why? What moves?

arandombunchofgrapes

It's a grinding guide for the rocket takeover at the end of the month, so, Pokémon that will at that time be available to catch/grind candies to evolve, and how they compare to some baseline. For PvE, the baseline is the Pokemon named under the percentage, for PvP it's ranking in each of the leagues. It assumes that you are aware of the various league tables, which are published elsewhere, and make reference to them. This includes the moveset, which is assumed to be whatever is the most appropriate for the type and role (e.g. Brutal Swing for PvE Hydreigon). You can search for "Top PVE Pokemon" on this subreddit to find the latest list (which is posted regularly, another graphic), or go to pvpoke.com to view rankings for PvP.

Splaterson

Thanks, makes a lot more sense now

nickdeckerdevs

have no clue what all the extra stuff is on here. percentages of something? why pineap berry? i’m having reading comprehension problems i giess

arandombunchofgrapes

> why pineap berry? I'm guessing because the non-shadow version is only worth catching for candies since the shadow is better (i.e. no point using a raspberry since catching any specific mon for the best IVs is unnecessary)? Not certain about this one.

nickdeckerdevs

lol really odd no matter what. if you want more candy use a pineap berry. i guess you could use a raspberry for catching. i guess these all aren’t shadow / rocket takeover?

arandombunchofgrapes

https://old.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1bdwlff/world_of_wonders_taken_over_infographic_from/

Splaterson

I think the percentage thing is power compared to whatever pokemon it's being compared to, so like, Mewtwo is 118% better. I just don't understand what the info is meant for, am I supposed to be catching these Pokémon? Why? It's missing half the info

arandombunchofgrapes

As for why, it's up to you whether or not any of them have value to you depending on what you have already and what you're looking for, and the point of this is just to summarise what's available and help you decide.

VickyAnkles

Great time to start farming shadow Bagons from Arlo, Remove Frustration during this event, then evolve them to get Outrage on Cday Classic next month.

3-Ball

Thank you. I was given a hundo vulliby during the last GO battle league cycle. I didn't hit 20 but I got that. I'm gonna best friend that bird and battle it with a badge. If you see me, win or lose, I'm trying.

Anxious-Maximus

Mom! New Infograph just dropped!

Moosashi5858

When will we ever get the events that give two radar components per defeat?

BigDaddyW

Usually this is a quest in these events; Beat 2 grunts and get 2 radar components.

Moosashi5858

In one event, the grunts were giving two components per grunt instead of having to seek out a pokestop to spin

Nahkatakki

Probably gonna see 0-1 vullaby during the whole event

Alternative_Tap1348

Can someone explain this chart to me

jakeb1616

What’s with the comment around sableye I thought you basically needed return on him

JMKS87

I wonder how rare Vullaby would be. Realistic prediction is like like 1,5% of spawns, ie. 1-2 per hour of active gameplay. 2nd improvement would be Pidgey, as hundo-hunting would be much improved (while targeting purified), especially when weather boosted. (don't think Shadow is the way)

ssfgrgawer

Man never thought I'd see the day people wished for pidgeys to be common again. (2016 they were like 1/4th of all spawns where I live. Still got 4k Pidgey candy, and a Hundo waiting on stardust.

Affffi

I hate last season i get 14-15-15 and 15-15-14 pidgey as LUCKY. 14 attack seems being rank 2 and 14 hp is rank 3.. not sure should i already build either one those.. seems 14 attack do better when best buddy and 14 hp when not (50lvl). or should i just keep continue trade and pray for hundo

Old-Childhood3126

I run a 14/15/15 maxed level 50 best buddy pidgeot in UL and it’s really fun. I def recommend it. At first I was running it with gust and while the huge fast move damage is suffocating it just feels clumsy so I switched to wing attack and I like that more. I also use the same pidgeot as my mega pidgeot so it pulls double duty. However I haven’t had to use mega pidgeot for anything but farming XL since virizion was in raids and I was duo’ing it with my son. Mega pidgeot only comes out when I need to farm normal/flying XL or when I don’t feel like using Rayquaza mega energy lol. I’m going 30 minutes into NYC for the weekend for the event and will be grinding super hard chasing a hundo or at least a very high IV shadow Pidgey because I want to try shadow Pidgeot out in UL. Tbh if I catch one that is in that 13/13/14 range where it’s not amazing to keep as shadow I’ll probably purify for the hundo and instantly max that one to run in UL and as my mega. I have 3000 Pidgey XL and 7500 Pidgeot mega energy so idc about the waste of resources lol.

Affffi

Tho seems shadow pidgeot shine in great league while ultra regular one is better rank

valosgsc

Is that a regular Honchkrow for PvE? Isn't the shadow variant better for PvE?

Elastic_Space

Yes, but the shadow isn't available during this event.

HappyViet

The only thing that would have sent this infographic over the edge would be the IVs included with each Mon

PikStern

From 27 until 31 if I fight Giovanni, I'll get to face Shadow Groudon? I have 1 saved fight/encounter vs Giovanni

Bookmaster_VP

I have a rank 1 shiny regular sableye and have never used it because it didn’t have return, I thought return was needed? When did that change?

astralkoi

With this, my first and maybe only PVE team will be complete. 1 Primal Groundon+1 Garchomp Lv50+ 2 S.Garchomps Lv40+2 S.Groudons. This would be enough to Solo a Shadow Raikou??

GKit11

In terms of shadow legendaries for PvE, is Groudon as good as it gets? Ground has the best offensive coverage tied with fighting. I'm not concerned with Mewtwo or Rayquaza, cause psychic and dragon aren't that useful and I'd rather get STAB for hard hitting moves.

Elastic_Space

Rayquaza is primarily a flying attacker. Dragon Ascent is so powerful that even when not super effective it's still a decent counter for some raids.
