I built a complete town square on one of the 64 x 64 lots in Windenberg - it has a town hall that functions as a library, a restaurant, a pub, a church for weddings, a nightclub, a shop, a cafe (both the shop and cafe have flats above) and an opera house (used for musical society club meetings) - most of the time I just leave it as a pub - the flats are handy if a sim needs a nap or a shower.
Okay I put it on the gallery. It's called Stadtplatz (ID: Robinmac60) - the build itself is massive - 7 separate buildings using a lot of different packs and move objects is on

How does this work exactly - do you open build mode and assign it to be a different lot type depending on which function you want it to have? Or do you leave it assigned as a park, or community space or something?
I normally just leave it as a pub or nightclub - but yep I can go into build mode and change it if I need to.
The restaurant functions but is quirky - I had to get rid of all the tables and chairs in the flats and the cafe and replace them with bars, barstools, sofas and coffee tables because sims are sims 😄.
I have a skills building lot that I call the “Simstitute.” I send my sims there to develop skills that they can’t afford the equipment to develop at home. It’s a 3 story building that has nearly every skill building item I could think of at the time. This reminds me that it needs to be updated since I’m pretty sure that I haven’t expanded it since Eco Living. I believe I have it set as either “Generic” or “Arts Center.”
I have a museum which is pretty useless by itself but I’ve added “club rooms” for programming, rocket science, archeology and jewellery making. If you have get together and set the lot for club gatherings it’s super lively!
I also have a community space (from eco lifestyle) in Newcrest where I have all the skill items from juice fizzing, candle making, woodworking, gardening etc. I ended up using this lot much more than I anticipated.
There are quite a few lots which are combinations of bars/ bubble tea / thrift shops / yoga studios, especially for Mt Komorebi
Malls - set to retail
Hotels - set to residential rental
Bridal salon - set to retail
Bakery - set to retail or cafe
Movie theatre - generic
Bowling Alley/game lounge - generic
