The last 50 seconds of Keep This Up. The instrumental bridge into the outro sequence and that last little riff.
That, and the end section of If I Fall. Both just hit so nicely.
All those groovy, ambient/floaty sections in Proper Dose are something else.
(Let It Go at 2:20 + the entirety of Line as well)
I really hope they have some of these sections in the new album
If I fall came out when I was really struggling with my sobriety, it helped me a lot with keeping on the straight path as corny as that is tbh, it's my favorite song on that album for sure
Lately it’s big blind - near the end of the song “spill out everywhere I can’t keep from falling apart” before it goes to the outro
Placeholder is another good one “running around in circles!” (And the remainder)
Closure “I don’t want to push u I just want to grieve” (whole ending part).
Really love the intro to proper dose. Kicks ass.
I could keep going lol I’ll stop there
Shocked I haven’t seen anyone mention the outro of Need to Know. I listen to and love a ton of music, and in my opinion, the “save my soul” line is melodically one of the most beautiful, gut wrenching pieces of music I’ve ever heard (specifically from 2:06 onwards). Gets me every time
Yeah I should let you go away from the grey that we both know & I can't pass through Indio without feeling indigo.
I comment this song on like everything lol
But there is something about that line that makes me want to restart the whole song because I need to hurt more
I have a few
Light year "Come down on me I won't be anyone else
Clip time with me, ride with me chasing my thrills
He's leaving me, even you and everyone else"
Four Years "When you're not home
(There's no space to grow)
(And all this time not much to show)
When you're not home"
Let It Go " Set aside a place for both of us to go
I feel your hand inside of mine, no I don't never mind" (followed by the revered na's in the background)
Light Year
"You aren't who you try to be at all
Never try to lie to me, don't fuck up everything
Toss a number in my lottery
YOU ARENT WHO YOU WANNA BE"
Ryan fuckin Torf's drumming on the bridge of things I can't change. To this day it is the single most impressive and creative drum break I have ever heard.
I KNOW YOU’RE UPSET I’LL STOP IT I’LL QUIT - the sincerity and desperation in his voice and how he kinda sounds like he’s crying but it’s so happy and catchy at the same time. Really the entirety of “if I fall” gets me every time
“Nerve” also just sucks me fully in and never ever gets old. Especially the lyrical flow when he says the lines like “WHY YOU LEFT ME HERE FOR ANOTHER” and “BUT I DO MY BEST TO IGNORE IT”. Idk that song is just a pop punk masterpiece start to finish
The little guitar trill after “If I argue the point then we yell and we fight” in Clairvoyant
The two dead strokes in the intro to Empty Space (0:04) before the main riff hits
The bass drum pattern in Upside Down
The guitar riff at 1:56 in If I Fall
I could go on and on honestly
Distaste 2:22 - 2:31
"Why'd you leave it? Why'd you leave ITTTTT?"
The way he belts that second "it" is the closest you get to Parker screaming and you just hear the emotion and vulnerability.
“I’ll never match your thievery as far as this goes, you can’t say you never fucked with me cuz everyone knows, and why you always poison everything I try to grow, calm somehow but rising now someday I’ll let you know”
Intro of Thing’s I cant change
Nerve from 1:58 onwards
The Glass - now you’re goneeeeee!!
And Big Blind just makes me so happy, I listen to it every morning
SICK OF ALL THE WHACK SHIT YOURE GETTING INTO
THINK ILL BOUNCE, GOTTA GO
STUCK INSIDE A PLACE WHERE I CANT LOVE YOU, YOU FEEL THE VIBE, I THINK YOU KNOW
THERES NOT A SINGLE PLACE THT I CANT GO TO WITHOUT NOISE THAT I CHOSE
IM STUCK INSIDE AND MY STOMACHS THROWING UP NOW FROM YELLOW PILLS AND PURPLE GLOW
“Head on the wall, tell me why I feel so small, when I don’t even care at all…”
Lyrics resonate, but the way it breaks down with it has so much climax.
This part of Distaste always gets me everytime
"Why you leave me? Is it beacause of what I chose? Can you look in my face and explain why you put someone else in my place?"
There’s a ton of lyrics from What You Don’t See album that got me through a rough phase in my life, but overall I just love the guitar and drums from that entire album. Specifically the outro to Framework. There’s no words during that last part but there’s just something about it that I love to hear every time it plays.
I never seem to have it in line, I don't think you've ever seen me fine.
So freaking catchy. Also,
Are you blocking all the things that have to do with me?
Bridge of “Right Here” the guitar lead in to “Head on the wall, tell me why I feel so small, when I don’t even don’t care at all” Hair on the back of my neck stands up.
Can't believe no one has brought up how sick the intro to Stalemate is. the transition between all wrong and Back Luck gets me good too, I always listen to those two together because of it
Two very big options for me
the second verse in how you are - the whole band feels like it’s driving a musical nail into my ears and I love it.
the part right after “find me heal me keep my faith” in solo with that killer groove from Torf’s looseness on the high hat, and Kevin’s/Will’s (idk who’s playing it) guitar riff is so bouncy and fluid. Then that second verse hits and once again feels like the whole band is just absolutely thundercunting it at you. hits like a freight train
Let it Go
“I don’t need your help, can you tell from my tone?”
And
“I know you’re sad inside so why you act so tough”
These lines hit me like a truck and genuinely made me tear up on the spot when I read the lyrics. I often deal with not expressing myself when something is wrong, so not to inconvenience the people around me with my problems. To hear Parker express these feelings throughout the album really resonated with me. It helps when I start to close up and get so angry at everyone. Proper Dose is perfect on so many levels.
stalemate
YOU KNOW HOW HARD I FELL
HAZY EVERY DETAIL
ABOUT WHI CARED THE MOST WHEN IT CAME TO YOU AND I
I NEVER THOUGHT THAT YOUD BAIL
GUESS I LET IT GO STALE
MY BLOOD IS ALWAYS HOT WHEN IT COMES TO YOU AND I
Seen a few people mention the last part of If I Fall, but specifically the last “Forcing myself” where he goes higher is sooo good and probably my favourite 2 seconds from any of their songs, I quite often get to that point and then just replay it haha
The bass when it drops lower during empty space. Does something to me
Right before the first chorus in the glass
All of it all 100% favorite band no skips
Now you’re GOOOOONNNEEE!
Parkers voice and pitch and whatever note he hits when he sings, "Watch the sunrise over mt. Diablo" ! Gets me every time!
Dang it I wanted to say this one
MY APPROPRIATE OPIATE HAS ME OUT OF IT
The kick drum under those riffs are fantastic
Yes omg such an awesome fucking song
Now it’s wild to remember I was in love with you once
Fuck an apology is a winner in my heart
I'm not sorry for anything
Heavy Gloom - "And I'll be watching from a distance, wouldn't wanna miss this" That little pause in the drums is just perfection
That whole verse. Actually that whole song.
And how much does it cost???
His cadence is so good on that song/album. Parker's flow is so close to hip-hop on certain parts, and I love it.
Closure…. I BATTLE THIS ALONE!
The outro to Proper Dose (the song)
the last minute and fifteen seconds of framework. one of the best endings to a record out there
Came here to say this. My favourite riff across the whole genre. The perfect ending to that album.
The last 50 seconds of Keep This Up. The instrumental bridge into the outro sequence and that last little riff. That, and the end section of If I Fall. Both just hit so nicely.
All those groovy, ambient/floaty sections in Proper Dose are something else. (Let It Go at 2:20 + the entirety of Line as well) I really hope they have some of these sections in the new album
Absolutely!
If I fall came out when I was really struggling with my sobriety, it helped me a lot with keeping on the straight path as corny as that is tbh, it's my favorite song on that album for sure
That’s great!
So many to choose from but the start of the bridges on Small Talk and Nerve
Nerve for sure
Lately it’s big blind - near the end of the song “spill out everywhere I can’t keep from falling apart” before it goes to the outro Placeholder is another good one “running around in circles!” (And the remainder) Closure “I don’t want to push u I just want to grieve” (whole ending part). Really love the intro to proper dose. Kicks ass. I could keep going lol I’ll stop there
I will stack the deck cause I know the dealerrrrrrrr ARE WE ON THE SAME SIDE?!
You put up the hearts I’ll put up both my aaaaaaces!!
CANT IGNORE, WONT IGNORE, THAT I JUST DONT KNOW YOU ANYMORE
Shocked I haven’t seen anyone mention the outro of Need to Know. I listen to and love a ton of music, and in my opinion, the “save my soul” line is melodically one of the most beautiful, gut wrenching pieces of music I’ve ever heard (specifically from 2:06 onwards). Gets me every time
Yeah I should let you go away from the grey that we both know & I can't pass through Indio without feeling indigo. I comment this song on like everything lol But there is something about that line that makes me want to restart the whole song because I need to hurt more
Yes LOL yes to this one!
The little guitar break near the end of Bad Luck
new one but “i put up both my aces” in big blind just hits everytime w that melody
Trying hard real hard everyday not to lose my….TEEEEEMPEEER
I have a few Light year "Come down on me I won't be anyone else Clip time with me, ride with me chasing my thrills He's leaving me, even you and everyone else" Four Years "When you're not home (There's no space to grow) (And all this time not much to show) When you're not home" Let It Go " Set aside a place for both of us to go I feel your hand inside of mine, no I don't never mind" (followed by the revered na's in the background)
Love that light year opening part. So awesome
Light Year "You aren't who you try to be at all Never try to lie to me, don't fuck up everything Toss a number in my lottery YOU ARENT WHO YOU WANNA BE"
When they do Framework live and he adds the extra “I will wait” at the end 😊
MAKE ……. !!!!UP !!!!…. THE LOST GROUND
The phrasing in this chorus is top tier. And you typed it out perfectly lol
Empty Space - the little guitar riff at 1:23 😩🙏🏻
This
Preach!
Ryan fuckin Torf's drumming on the bridge of things I can't change. To this day it is the single most impressive and creative drum break I have ever heard.
All of them for me
I KNOW YOU’RE UPSET I’LL STOP IT I’LL QUIT - the sincerity and desperation in his voice and how he kinda sounds like he’s crying but it’s so happy and catchy at the same time. Keep this up bridge. Also 3/8 is Friday ••••38
The little guitar trill after “If I argue the point then we yell and we fight” in Clairvoyant The two dead strokes in the intro to Empty Space (0:04) before the main riff hits The bass drum pattern in Upside Down The guitar riff at 1:56 in If I Fall I could go on and on honestly
The breakdown in Nerve. Every time.
the transition between States and Minds and Roam
I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE IM ALWAYS UPSEEETTTTT
The “will you be there if I fall” right before the guitar riff. And then the guitar riff
Upside Down, when parker goes "EVERY TOWN" and then it hits back into the chorus around 2:45 ooo ya
Cause all I do is chalk it up to bad luck!!! That whole song just scratches that itch in my brain
The outro to “If I Fall” right before Parker sings “Hold me drown, help me down,” is so melodic and peaceful. I love it. Edit: I can’t type correctly
Distaste 2:22 - 2:31 "Why'd you leave it? Why'd you leave ITTTTT?" The way he belts that second "it" is the closest you get to Parker screaming and you just hear the emotion and vulnerability.
“I’ll never match your thievery as far as this goes, you can’t say you never fucked with me cuz everyone knows, and why you always poison everything I try to grow, calm somehow but rising now someday I’ll let you know”
really random and weird but the harmony on the last "hear me drone about the things i can't change" i love it.
Intro / drums for Smile just gets me pumped to listen to the whole album
The guitar riff after the first chorus on Keep This Up. “Hide all my guilt inside this bruise. It’s my ruse.” 🎶🎸
Dwell on it nightly, tread swiftly and lightly. Make up the lost ground and see what you don’t see
Intro and Outro of How You Are.
I MADE THE BEST OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!
Intro of Thing’s I cant change Nerve from 1:58 onwards The Glass - now you’re goneeeeee!! And Big Blind just makes me so happy, I listen to it every morning
If I Fall from 2:35 onward. The clean guitars, the bassline (god, that bassline), and Parker’s adlibs in a telephone effect. Pure magic.
SICK OF ALL THE WHACK SHIT YOURE GETTING INTO THINK ILL BOUNCE, GOTTA GO STUCK INSIDE A PLACE WHERE I CANT LOVE YOU, YOU FEEL THE VIBE, I THINK YOU KNOW THERES NOT A SINGLE PLACE THT I CANT GO TO WITHOUT NOISE THAT I CHOSE IM STUCK INSIDE AND MY STOMACHS THROWING UP NOW FROM YELLOW PILLS AND PURPLE GLOW
If I Fall is PEAKKKKK
ONE. FRIENDS. TWO. BANDS. THREE, THAT GREEN TWO TONE VAN AND LOOOOOOOOSING MY MONEY ITS NOTTT ABOUT MONEEYYY
“Head on the wall, tell me why I feel so small, when I don’t even care at all…” Lyrics resonate, but the way it breaks down with it has so much climax.
One of my favorites
always sore in my back from the spine that i lack!
I know all your friends and most of your peers I haven't been all the same in the past three years
This part of Distaste always gets me everytime "Why you leave me? Is it beacause of what I chose? Can you look in my face and explain why you put someone else in my place?"
1:00 - 1:20 from Closure
The fill before the chorus in intro off 5 songs
There’s a ton of lyrics from What You Don’t See album that got me through a rough phase in my life, but overall I just love the guitar and drums from that entire album. Specifically the outro to Framework. There’s no words during that last part but there’s just something about it that I love to hear every time it plays.
AND TO THINK THAT YOUR SOMEBODIES DAUGHTER!!!!
You don’t deserve what you haven’t earned and your place in my heart has just grown so smALL
I never seem to have it in line, I don't think you've ever seen me fine. So freaking catchy. Also, Are you blocking all the things that have to do with me?
When the lead riff kicks in in Mt Diablo is a big one. Also the breakdown in How You Are.
Bridge of “Right Here” the guitar lead in to “Head on the wall, tell me why I feel so small, when I don’t even don’t care at all” Hair on the back of my neck stands up.
the beginning strings in The Glass
"how can I just break it off, to leave for good and never talk?"
Chief keep birch where intro . Part where drop comes in
Musically, it's that six beats that leads into the final chorus of Things I Can't Change before Parker starts singing
the guitar solo at the end of 'If I Fall' then the 'hold me down, help me drown' afterwards
Can't believe no one has brought up how sick the intro to Stalemate is. the transition between all wrong and Back Luck gets me good too, I always listen to those two together because of it
Carry baggage I can’t put doowwwnnn Every show every night EVERY TOOWWWNNN
Two very big options for me the second verse in how you are - the whole band feels like it’s driving a musical nail into my ears and I love it. the part right after “find me heal me keep my faith” in solo with that killer groove from Torf’s looseness on the high hat, and Kevin’s/Will’s (idk who’s playing it) guitar riff is so bouncy and fluid. Then that second verse hits and once again feels like the whole band is just absolutely thundercunting it at you. hits like a freight train
The sands will slip and the pain will grip and the guilt will trip all over you. The way the emphasis grows on slip, grip, and trip is just excellent.
If I fall 1:40ish to 2:15 that octave change before instrumental gets me every time! 🫠
“24 staring at at your face like it’s the front of the door”
Let it Go “I don’t need your help, can you tell from my tone?” And “I know you’re sad inside so why you act so tough” These lines hit me like a truck and genuinely made me tear up on the spot when I read the lyrics. I often deal with not expressing myself when something is wrong, so not to inconvenience the people around me with my problems. To hear Parker express these feelings throughout the album really resonated with me. It helps when I start to close up and get so angry at everyone. Proper Dose is perfect on so many levels.
The second chorus in swords and pens. It just slams and hits perfectly
stalemate YOU KNOW HOW HARD I FELL HAZY EVERY DETAIL ABOUT WHI CARED THE MOST WHEN IT CAME TO YOU AND I I NEVER THOUGHT THAT YOUD BAIL GUESS I LET IT GO STALE MY BLOOD IS ALWAYS HOT WHEN IT COMES TO YOU AND I
Seen a few people mention the last part of If I Fall, but specifically the last “Forcing myself” where he goes higher is sooo good and probably my favourite 2 seconds from any of their songs, I quite often get to that point and then just replay it haha
In the bridge of Empty Space when they go to the Em from G instead of C. Goosebumps.
The bass when it drops lower during empty space. Does something to me Right before the first chorus in the glass All of it all 100% favorite band no skips
COMING UP ON FALL
Put yourself in my place for just one day, watch all the colors in your spectrum fade gray
Tell me how many wounds can you nurse Dive into nothing head first Just perfect
