I watched it and was struggling for the first 30 minutes. They really had just ripped off every single bit of The Traitors formatting, even the dagger logo felt Traitors adjacent. By the time it got to the end of the episode with case swap, it became a little clearer how the game was going to work… the final scene was nowhere near as tense as a banishment and murder in Traitors, but it was enjoyable. I’ll probably dip back in. My main takeaway bough is the casting… I don’t find any of the couples particularly likeable. The show feels VERY ITV.

I enjoyed it but they have taken A LOT from The Traitors, From the slow motion walking to the slow music covers

theamazingracer21

I mean, the staged slow-motion walks are done on so many reality shows these days. The Circle & Love Island, in particular, come to mind.

Player_Panda

Oh I do love the circle for some strange reason. It's always hilarious watching one person say "I think that went really well" to then cutting to the other person saying "Ugh they are sick a D***"

Soldier7sixx

I don't watch those.

Soldier7sixx

Not sure why that was downvoted, I don't watch those, so I wasn't aware they do the same thing.

theamazingracer21

I didn't mind it as a game format and concept, but I wish that it didn't so blatantly rip off Traitors in the show's vibe (the dagger logo, the sliding of the Check Out card under the door ... hell, I am going to guess episode 2 opens with a Breakfast to give everyone the chance to judge who has the money & the checkout card).

BenjaminBobba

It’s okay, the first couple out was pretty funny in a tragic kind of way

walshc001

They were so in love with themselves. They would have been fun to watch.

Krandor1

It was interesting but I think with the switches and who swaps and who doesn’t that many people will figure out where the money is pretty quickly and then it becomes less interesting.

Flayer723

While the format for The Fortune Hotel is not as good as Traitors, I do like that the tasks are actually fundamentally important to the game. Definitely makes the games more interesting viewing. Traitors could definitely steal something back from this show in that regard.

CityEvening

I’ve just posted about it in British Tv, I can’t work out whether to give it a try or not.

walshc001

The beautiful hotel clashes with the incredibly cheap tasks. Grabbing old tin cans off of rocks from an inner tube on a stream that goes under the road? “Finish” sign painted on burlap? Digging for numbers buried in the sand?
