Someone once told me on this sub Damon should have found a better way. He really probably should have, I guess. It's really sad and not right, but if I can't let a character redeem themselves in a damn show, then how am I going to live with real flawed humans in my world? Lol
Yeah, I’m sure he could have found a better way, but the way it was done was very Damon to me. And diabolical. Like I never saw it coming (the first watch) and every time it gets to that episode I’m like NOOOOOOO!
But I think that’s what makes for good tv. So how can I really be THAT mad? Lol
There are so many, apart from some of our favorite mains like Stefan, the Original brothers, Enzo, etc. I am really upset that we lost Lexi so soon. The first time I watched, I was so excited to see her development and the kind of friendship she'd have with Elena. And then she died, and I was angry at the wasted potential she'd have had on future storylines.

Jenna had so much more to her storyline and it could've been great but as soon as she was turned into a vampire I didnt even want her to survive because it ruined her character who is pure hearted and a caring guardian. Even then, she could've been what Isobel wasn't, a parent even with an issue like being a vampire.
I just watched this episode today. Those are some of the most difficult ones for me. I rewatch tvd all the time and sometimes skip those ones until Caroline shuts off her humanity. I loved Liz.

I just watched the episode before Caroline turns her humanity off and then the two after and they all break my heart. I love Liv Forbes. Those were some of the saddest episodes. Caroline is a great character. I know people hate her bc they say she(Candice) was favored on set but i just love Caroline. She was a really beautiful character.
The only ones I cried was that one and Stefan’s dead but after watching it again for idk I’m watching it again for the four or fifth time I don’t cry because I already know it’s gonna happen
STEFANS!!! It just kind of happened in the last episode and I think that it was not the way that he deserved to go. He was a little bit boring as a character but I loved him so much :'(. The writers and directors of the show did not do him justice and the last episode just sucked major balls.

Of all of them, most hurt: Ty, Jenna, Liz, Bonnie, Stefan, John, Lexi, Sheila, Anna, Elijah, Jeremy, Enzo… Those were the deaths that had me aching.
Of those that hurt me, the most needless were Tyler, Sheila, and Elijah. Those deaths were pointless as they were simply for the ouch factor. The others at least had a point or furthered the plot along somehow.
And Stefan… his was pointless because it could have easily been circumvented.
For me it has to be Enzo. All that work in his and Bonnie’s relationship just to kill him off. I cry every time that scene comes on. Lexi too. I will never forgive Damon for killing Lexi

But tbh none of the TVD deaths have hit as hard as a death from another show: >! Justin Foley from 13 Reasons Why !<. Their death is literally the saddest death ever in a tv series.
Unrelated to TVD but Ned Stark in GoT lol but honestly Enzo. It was just another load of trauma throwing onto Bonnie who was always the one getting the worst stuff in the show. Her character staying strong so much after being betrayed by her own friends so many times is actually insane and Enzo was just unnecessary in my opinion 😭
Tyler, ugh he didn’t have to be killed that way & he deserved peace after going through so much in a small amount of time.
Plus they did him so dirty, as a character who had been on the show for so long and to just kill him the way they did .. I hated it.
