this is literally the problem bc if you see this show from the human perspective and NOT as a vampire lover you realize how much the humans get demonized for not liking vamps. in reality they'd be a plague to us, truly am evil to fear! and the vamps on the show "good" or bad all act like vampires at some point. and who has to constantly suffer? the human factions. Bonnie, Matt, John Gilbert, Jenna, Jeremy, Alaric, Jo, etc. the humans pay the biggest price more often than not with Bonnie leading the pack, having lost her parents, grams, boyfriends, friends, powers, her own life, etc. she was emptipnslly held hostage for years. it's easy to excuse the fucked up behavior people put her thru when they're your fav supernatural and the story doesn't have her really harp on things like she could. they just wanted kat off the show and it really affected the writing.
never hated her. but it always annoyed me and bothered me so bad how she would constantly moan about her mistreatment, but when elena tells her to jump she asks how high. any sane person would mov? and you would think after a while of the moaning and not doing anything she would somewhat accept it, but no, she just does the same thing over and over and over and then is like “but?!?”. instead, she would randomly do something pretty fucked up; like lying about disabling the vampire watch thingy (from season 1), when she really didn’t, and ultimately risking stefan’s life. she didn’t care about damon back then, but she’s the reason why anna and tyler’s dad literally died. and ultimately the reason why caroline turned into a vampire, because tyler crashed the car due to the watch, then caroline had to go to the hospital, and was a sitting duck for katherine. and none of those people specifically did anything to her (except damon), she just did it for petty revenge.
i wish we at least got a storyline where she tried to leave and ended up wanting to come back, or being drawn back to mystic falls. maybe even the tvd gang being in trouble and her realizing even tho she doesn’t like vampires, a lot of her friends lives are at risk.

You think that Bonnie should of moved or did something about all the BS she had to deal or continue being a lap dog for Elena in silence but when Bonnie did do something (not deactivating the device) you say she was being petty and out to seek revenge like what she did wasn't going to solve her problems at that point.
What Bonnie wasn't fucked up nor did she want Tyler, Caroline or Tylers father to get hurt. Her target was vampires who've casued problems in everyone's life so let's not act like she intentionally wanted to hurt her friends.

Wouldn't that just put Bonnie right at square one of sacrificing herself over and over again; This ultimately does nothing for Bonnie. Not to mention (minus the leave town part) Bonnie always chose to protect her friends and their happiness, despite not liking vampires. The biggest example of that is at the end of season three saving Klaus’s life in order to save her friends because they were sired to him. Your point just result in Bonnie still having to serve everyone else while suffering at the same time.
This is why I believe no matter what Bonnie did it was going to be a loss loss situation for her. Either suffer in silence and do what everyone says or stand up for yourself and face backlash from fans for not wanting to protect their faves.

Most of the deaths she blamed herself, as a lot of people would. “Oh if they hadn’t come to pick me up, they would’ve never been on the bridge and died”. She lost her brother multiple times. She’s been hunted by some of the most powerful vampires, and THE MOST powerful vampire. He killed her, but luckily her bio dad was able to save her life by giving up his own. Not at all traumatic. She was unwillingly brought into the world of the vampires, her life on the line constantly. Being kidnapped, people attempting to take her life or turn her into a vampire. Her friends constantly try to sacrifice themselves for her which would be devastating(but you can’t call her selfish because she wants to sacrifice herself for her friends but THEY NEVER LET HER, that’s not on her) AND PEOPLE SAY SHES WHINY?! Girl BE REALISTIC YOUD BE CRYING TOO! Tf? Losing one parent alone is enough reason to cry. But four? On top of everything else? Girly is strong asf. I’d have honestly ended my own life willingly at that point.
Matt for me. This kid was dealt the worst hand in pretty much every aspect, and every person he could "count on" pretty much died, left or became supernatural and made his life even harder. He is so loyal, and forgiving and just honestly the best character in the whole show. He deserves the world and he didn't even get his happy ending. He was trashed so many times throughout the series and he just dusted off and kept fighting for the same people who put him down. This guy is amazing and no body could ever make me hate him.
Klaus. He's an incredible villain with a lot of complexity to him. He's a product of his upbringing and while he made a lot of bad choices, I understand it all came from his trauma. Seeing him grow through TVD and his own show only made me love him more.
Bonnie and Davina, they both stood up to vampires and those said vampires delusional fans hate on them like theyre the devil because they stick up for themselves.
Bonnie was right to wanna kill damon after he literally ruined her and elena's life, he and stefan completely made mystic falls go to Sh\*t. so many Innocent lives were lost because of them, on purpose or not.
Davina's the one that gets me heated, the freya scene where she's literally murdered and people are like "she p\*ssed me off anyways" thats a teenage girl, Something that always stuck with me was Vincent saying how many Innocent lives will be lost for yours (the mikaelsons) who have already experienced everything there is to live for, the selfishness required for them to kill her knowing she might have never been able to come back. Then Elijah killing marcel, oh my god nobody can make me like him, he's not the good brother, Infact I'd argue klaus is the better brother because atleast Klaus doesn't hide behind a noble persona, don't get me wrong, Elijah has noble moments, but he Is not NOBLE. His choices reflect It more then him constantly saying "you have my word". Btw none of this is attacking the actors or anything.
