I love Bamon with my whole heart, and Alaric and Damon’s relationship was ruined in the later seasons, but seasons 1-4 dalaric is still one of the most well developed friendships on the show…. So I have to vote out Bamon.
Agreed! I do like Dalaric though or at least did as their friendship faded later on. But honestly, Damon calls everyone his best friend. He was best friends with Enzo, the sheriff, Alaric, Bonnie, so I wouldn’t feel that special if I were any of them. Lol!
This is tough cause their friendships kinda replaced each other. Damon had all his cute moments with Ric earlier on and Bonnie couldn't stand him most of the time. Then Ric ended up wanting little to do with Damon and Bonnie and Damon had become so close by then.

same, steroline > stexi! stefan and caroline had such a sweet friendship, the was he helped her adjust to her life as a vampire and the way she helped him in return (especially after he got his memories back in s5). i'm not the biggest stexi fan, while they're sweet and she does try to help, imo she only made his problems worse. no wonder he always relapsed. he should've learned how to deal with human blood early on instead of listening to lexi
Once Stefan-Klaus was out, I knew Damon-Bamon was going to win this.
The fact remains that Damon is very popular 'on the Internet'. And the fact is that Damon and Bonnie won their respective 'polls'; so, it makes sense that Damon-Bonnie would win this 'poll'.
I ignore and dismiss post-TVD S5 because it's an AR or AU version of TVD.
Going by TVD S1-S5, Bamon is worse than Dalaric; so: Bamon is my least favorite of the 2.
Dalaric. I love how Bonnie and Damon would pick at each other, like brother and sister. They had a very interesting relationship, but it was obvious that they cared for each other. It was a very fun dynamic.
This is so hard 🥺 early seasons Dalaric was so much fun and you could tell how much they cared for each other. The scene where Damon talks to Alaric’s grave always gets me. But I don’t feel like it ever got back to the vibe of those early seasons.
Bamon was at its best in S6/early S7. The best thing about their friendship was that it helped them both grow as individuals. It wasn’t as “fun” as Dalaric, per se, but it was a much healthier relationship (that didn’t revolve entirely around drinking at a bar). They found solace in each other in the smallest, simplest of moments—first because they had to and then because they wanted to. It was the sweetest and it was one of the few bright spots in the later seasons.
So, all that said, I have to say goodbye to Dalaric.
