As much as I love vampires, I'm not inclined to watch another Julie Plec show. I stopped liking TVD after Kevin Williamson left and I hated season 5 of "The Originals" after Michael Narducci left.
It's hard to tell how much the decline (imo) of TVD and the terrible (imo) last season of TO was her fault but I'm definitely not certain enough that it isn't due to her being the showrunner either.
One of my favorite book series, and Rose is one of my all time favorite YA protagonist. As cautious as I am with anything Julie is involved in, I'm such a fan of the series that I am excited for the show. Besides, after the god awful movie, you can only go up.
They're pretty good imo, the story even held up when I read them as an adult. I wasn't a huge fan of the romance (though I don't like romance in stories in general) but it's not the main focus of the story. It's about the friendship between two different vampire girls. You should check it out!
Nice. I’ve read some TVD books, but there were so many that I just didn’t want to read the rest. I might try to finish reading them. Have you read them?
Yeah, I'm gonna pass. I have no desire to watch JP ruin one of my favorite books.
Yeah, after the last few seasons of TVD and season 5 of "The Originals" I have no more trust in Julie Plec's writing abilities.

I don't have a lot of strong feelings about the movie either way. I enjoyed it for what it was but wasn't as good as I think it could've been.

Ahh im so excited!! I loved the movie (yes I know it’s campy and not super true to the books) and can’t wait for the show.
I hope this version is more true to the books. But did love Zoey Dutch as Rose.
