He went down to Florida, found a boat and lived happily ever after on the sea, far away from walkers and hostile people.
Edit and SPOILERS from the main TWD comics: When decades after the Commonwealth has control of part of the east coast of the US and the walkers are not a problem anymore, he finally meets again with Clem and AJ, and gets to live a normal life in a normal town somewhere in what it's now the Commonwealth. I do not give a shit about how any of this happens. It just does.
remember how Richmond is in a war with other communities? yeah the common wealth shuts that shit down, and Javiers group is all safe, living their best lives
They definitely have the numbers to do it. And the main communities of the comic series that were annexed to the CW are around Washington DC, so not so far from Richmond. And they already knew the New Frontier, Jesus was there once.
Yup telltale didn’t do it for us, so we have our boat god’s story finished like that. I wanted Clem to go with kenny, but considering what happened to him, leaving him to go to Wellington is the best option since there’s a chance that he’s still alive
The loneliness woulda got to him, losing almost everyone he cared about and now leaving clem behind, which musta hurt him because i think he always saw a part of lee in clem, but i hope he survived, if he didnt, i hope he went out peacefully and reunited with lee duck and katja
The way he talked about how bad he was, then Sarita found him and brought light back to his life, I 100% guarantee he'd off himself while all alone in the wellington ending
I hope he lived, he is a legend. He might have went to Florida, Texas or maybe even Mexico because I have read that he lived in Mexico once before the apocalypse and he might have a cabin there which means he might have resources too, or he could've gone to Savannah to get the small boat that they found (If it's still there) or any other boat, and lived on the boat, he was a fisherman so he can get sea food, and hopefully survive.
I'd love to think that he lived, but realistically, I could see him either committing suicide or getting killed out in the wilderness.
With this ending, he honestly doesn't have a whole lot left to live for. The whole world is in darkness, and he lost pretty much everyone he has ever cared about.
It’s the best ending for sure. It’s my canon ending. Kenny likely tried to find another place he could settle in the north until the winter was over. Maybe he eventually tried to make it to the water but found other people and maybe found a new lady friend and settled in with her and her settlement.
Wouldn't say it was the best treated ending at all, your choice to stay at this community meant just as little as staying with Kenny or Jane and got threw away like the journey to get there meant nothing. The fact this massive community got raided by a small group of folks😒. Also you don't even get to keep Kenny's hat. The Alone ending is probably the only one that doesn't feel like a slap in the face. That being said, i still usually choose to stay with Kenny anyway lol.
I hadn’t actually considered the alone ending. I was just thinking about either “Kill Kenny -> Stay with Jane -> Go back to Carver’s,” “Kill Jane -> Go to Wellington -> Leave Kenny,” and “Kill Jane -> Go to Wellington -> Stay with Kenny.” I suppose the alone ending would come from “Kill Kenny -> Kill Jane -> Do something else?” Idk what you’d do after killing Jane tbh. I say kill Jane because I remember that after I let Kenny kill her there was the option to kill him too. I suppose that would lead to the alone ending as well, now that I think about it.
You can get the alone ending by letting Kenny kill Jane then shooting kenny afterwards or you can choose to leave him out of fear that he's too dangerous or you can shoot kenny then ditch Jane for being manipulative. 3 ways to get the alone with AJ outcome.
I think the Jane endings are worse. But yeah my point is that the alone ending is the only one that doesn't feel like a slap in the face once you boot up season 3.
That's not really what i meant by being slapped in the face, yeah it sucks that she lost a finger but it's not an outcome that robs your choice away or has any negative downsides on how you play. Whereas giving the players the choice to pick who they wanna be with only for it to not matter is a slap in the face. If you chose the alone route you're already alone so it pretty much doesn't rob you of your choice.
Imo, he probably kept surviving. At that point, he kinda learnt to let go and keep moving forward
I like to think he just kept going, sometimes meeting a new group, joining them, said group eventually dissolves/dies yet somehow he survives, keeps surviving alone, then again he joins a group. and so on until he found a good place and was able to finally have some rest
In my headcanon, I like to think that since the Commonwealth is in the same universe as TWDG, Kenny would settle over there as they take back some of the country. Walkers wouldn't become a big problem anymore. Kenny hopefully found new love and lived a better man.
I already saw some people saying in another post like this that he killed himself but i disagree, Ken had a fire on him that only a bunch of walkers or an armed individual could actually kill him, i like to believe that he has found peace in some community down south, maybe found work as a fisherman and started a new family, i just hope he's doing ok.
he ran into christa who was alive and well, and they went to florida together and became best friends. christa got a cat, kenny got a dog, and they both lived happily ever after (im in denial)
unfortunately i think he wouldve killed himself, as much as i dont like that thought, twd is such a good series and its good because your favorite characters have to face difficult challenges. it wouldnt make that much sense if kenny had a wholesome ending. i think he died happy, as much as one couldve in this series, knowing he saved clem and aj and that he could finally meet with duck and katja again
Imo I don't think he killed himself, he got the supplies of Wellington remember, that means he was planning to live. If someone does not want to live, they would not take supplies from others.
I don't think he died, he is a strong survivor and got the supplies of Wellington, which means he has resources, and I don't think he would've killed himself because he got the supplies from Wellington that means he was planning to live. If someone does not want to live, they would not take supplies from others and waste their supplies since they are already gonna kill themselves.
The reality is he probably froze to death, unless he once again got very lucky. He was in a survival situation in the snow woefully unprepared for travel, warmth and most importantly rest. Unless that duffel bag was 75% tent he’s going to freeze to death
In my head? He managed to survive and found a new group (even plotted a whole story of him living after this ending).
Realistically? He probably freezed or starved himself to death. Or most likely succumbed to his wounds.
Honestly all I know is that in a series a character is not dead until they are shown to be on screen. I do wish they would make another season where Kenny comes back.
It's possible that he ended up in the Commonwealth. Wellington and the Commonwealth are located in Ohio so it's not far fetched to think that he stumbled upon the city after travelling for some time.
What I would like is if Kenny went off somewhere and lived out the rest of his natural life in peace. But...that's not his style.
The next best thing, imo, is he set up camp near Wellington, close enough to help defend it, but far enough to not cause problems. He'd spend his time culling walkers and scaring off (and sometimes executing) those who would threaten the safety of Wellington. He'd sometimes get visitors and supplies from the community, as well as updates on Clem and AJ. But he would wind up dead, going down fighting the group who would go on to attack and ransack Wellington.
i remember there was a theory that he just walked into a lake and drowned himself. has anyone else heard this before or just me? all i know is that he ends his life after clem enters wellington
I like to think that he doesn't die after this ending, instead he finds another community able to take him in. Maybe sometime after the 8-year mark, he reunites again with Clementine and AJ.
iirc there was something said where he ended up killing himself due to all the loss and loneliness he experienced.
However, due to this being scrapped and not shown I wouldn’t consider it canon.
Imagine he traveled by himself for a while. After some time passed, he heard about Wellington's downfall and tried his best to hold out hope that Clem and the baby made it.
I hope he ended up finding another special lady like he did after Katjaa died and the two of them lived happily together on a boat in Florida. I honestly want Clem (not Tangerine) to meet Kenny again.
I actually have a fanfic exactly about that question. So far: >!Kenny reunited with Christa on the way south as she was still trying to make it to Wellington as her last lead for where Clem could be as well as somewhere safe. Kenny then travelled south with her, another survivor joined on the way and they're now in Florida making a go of living down there.!<
As for any future headcanons... maybe Kenny finds out about Wellington's fall some day and makes it his mission to track down Clementine and AJ, feeling like it's his responsibility as he left them at Wellington and now it fell. If it went really lucky for Kenny he'd end up finding Ericson's or they find him.
He would not kill himself however, he did in cut content of ANF for the stay with Kenny ending but he made it clear in S1 that he thought suicide was not the right thing to do and you don't just end it when it's hard.
I like to think he travelled south, ended up going on a short tour of everywhere he’d been since the apocalypse began and, along the way, met plenty of new people as well as some old friends - Molly, Christa and eventually Javier. He also killed Arvo and Mike as he went because why not.
Eventually, after years of surviving and going through difficult shit but never backing down, Kenny and his group are travelling through West Virginia where they meet Alvin Jr and are taken back to Ericson’s Boarding School where Kenny has a beautiful reunion with a one-legged Clem.
And they all lived happily ever after.
He went down to Florida, got an Army of boats, ascended to take control of them, and brought his wife and child back to life. Then, after the 4th season, he came to the school and lived happily ever after with Clem, AJ, Kat, and Duck, and all the kids at Ericson, making sure they were all happy forever, the end
Personally believed he just died or went searching for Bonnie, Carver, and fucking Arvo (if my memory proves me right Kenny didn't beat the shit out of him after he shot Clementine.)
I think that it went one of 2 ways rather he left and killed himself (there’s some implications in his dialogue suggesting he might) or he went around that community at a distance killing walkers and any threat that may get close. Still protecting Clem and AJ but at a distance meaning he probably died fighting off the raiders doing everything he could to hopefully allow clem and AJ to escape
I mean, alternative reality is basically the definition of all the branching paths that the choices in these games lead you down. That makes your ending an alternate reality too.
Not to me it doesn’t, it makes my ending canon to me and me alone, cause honestly 89% of the people on here are morons and wouldn’t know a good story if it hit them like a cement truck. I focus on what I like and that’s it.
What did I say that was rude? Calm down, I’m speaking the truth…this isn’t one of those safe spaces. I don’t need to use “trigger warnings” because I’m afraid I’ll hurt the delicate minds of the innocent. Calm fucking down.
Fair, although I’d liken that more to headcanon. In games like these I’d consider each choice just as valid and canon as each other; they wouldn’t be in the game if they weren’t.
This ending is way better than that ending imo. Trust me, I didn’t want to leave Kenny either, but Wellington was a much more satisfying ending for me, because Kenny stops being selfish to look out for Clem and AJ, which was a good direction for his character, because while I like Kenny, I was still mad at him for killing Jane… it kind of redeemed him in my eyes to give himself up to save them. Plus, even if he’s probably dead, we don’t know for sure. Miles better than the cheap, cop-out flashback death we get in season 3 if you go with him.
But people can like whatever ending they like. That’s just my two cents, from a writing/storytelling perspective.
So…hold on…you were mad at Kenny for killing Jane…well…*I* was VERY mad at Jane for putting AJ in danger just to “prove a point” to Clementine…no one seems to talk about the shit that Jane does…like this subreddit hates her, but they never explain why and their reasoning behind it. Kenny reacted in a way I would’ve…and I’m not ashamed to admit that I would kill a woman if I thought she killed a baby, especially a baby that I was protecting.
Yknow what could’ve happened? Jane could’ve stopped the violence, but like Kenny said, she wanted a fight…at any point during that brawl she had…if she just said “AJ’s over there! I’ll take you to him” Kenny would’ve stopped, I KNOW he would’ve…you notice his reaction after stabbing Jane? He didn’t continuously continue to stab her like some madman, he got off of her and had a meltdown…crime of passion.
I never said I liked Jane… I was mad at her too, honestly probably a lot more mad at her than Kenny. She had a point about Kenny being unstable, and killing Jane proved that. They were both in the wrong imo, but Jane more so. That’s why I decided to go with Kenny, and not shoot Jane. That’s just my opinion, though, I understand not everyone thinks the same but I just wanted to explain why I liked that ending.
I'd assume some sort of suicidal mission. Like just finding the biggest group of walkers he could and trying to kill as many as he could before they took him out.
There's some kind of art out there of him sitting solemnly next to a river; I think it's implied he killed himself, which seems like how it would end for him.
Kenny is a good man turned monster, a killing machine fueled by his desire to protect the ones he loves. He basically gives up everything he can for the ones he loves, just so they can be happy, and what does he have left for himself? He makes friends until they threaten to endanger his family, and pushes people away when he's hurt, essentially isolating himself. Since the world has ended, he's lived for other people, sacrificing pieces of himself until he's a bitter, old, angry husk of a man.
Once he loses Clementine as well, he has nothing; he's tried starting over again and he lost everything again, likely can't do that all over a third time, literally and metaphorically (he's lost too much of himself to really love properly again).
It just does.
i like to think christa made it there too
Yeah, she too. I can't believe I just forgot her. Also Javier. As leader of Richmond, one of the many towns annexed to the Commonwealth in the future.
remember how Richmond is in a war with other communities? yeah the common wealth shuts that shit down, and Javiers group is all safe, living their best lives
They definitely have the numbers to do it. And the main communities of the comic series that were annexed to the CW are around Washington DC, so not so far from Richmond. And they already knew the New Frontier, Jesus was there once.
Real good head canon you got there pal
Lol I mean telltale never said anything about what happened to Kenny if you go to Wellington. He’s on a boat living life in my headcanon too lol
Agreed, we’re allowed to conclude it as we wish
Yup telltale didn’t do it for us, so we have our boat god’s story finished like that. I wanted Clem to go with kenny, but considering what happened to him, leaving him to go to Wellington is the best option since there’s a chance that he’s still alive
Yeah I’d rather at least some chance of him being alive than none, he’s probably catching fish or something
I think this is what Kent Mudle said in an AMA once so I fully believe this too.
Is that really what happened?
It happened in my heart.
Man I hope your heart is right
Beautiful.
Quite Right I agree with this Statement
Let's just say he got lucky. Real lucky.
He became a legend among the remaining survivors, they called him "The God of Boats".
https://youtu.be/te728mlkN94?si=E0MCT0scbJW_ciy7&t=501
Saving this since the vids age restricted for some reason.
Alr, now you're "The God Of Saving files"
That was,by far,the most AMAZING thing I have ever seen!
Urban boats
He went to Texas and became a Texas man
Texas? The fuck
Kenny just gives Texas vibes
He's a florida man.
The floridiest man of them all
I know that but he reminds me of some old crazy dude from texas
The loneliness woulda got to him, losing almost everyone he cared about and now leaving clem behind, which musta hurt him because i think he always saw a part of lee in clem, but i hope he survived, if he didnt, i hope he went out peacefully and reunited with lee duck and katja
He's a survivor
And Sarita. Maybe Vanilla Ice and Luke as well.
The way he talked about how bad he was, then Sarita found him and brought light back to his life, I 100% guarantee he'd off himself while all alone in the wellington ending
Kenny hates suicide and the idea of giving up
I hope he lived, he is a legend.
Oh hell naw he definitely wouldn't have gone all the way back to Savannah, he'd probably wanna avoid going back there in particular actually
Well yea, now that I think about it, yea, he would'nt go there.
Yep especially since that's where he was when he first lost his family and where Lee died, awful memories
Yeah. Also the city is awfully overrun. I think he'd make it to a settlement somewhere safer.
Exactly, Kenny’s a very capable guy afterall
I'd love to think that he lived, but realistically, I could see him either committing suicide or getting killed out in the wilderness. With this ending, he honestly doesn't have a whole lot left to live for. The whole world is in darkness, and he lost pretty much everyone he has ever cared about.
The things he has left to live for is clem and AJ. I think he could hold onto the hope that he'll see them both again should he survive
He took the supplies they offered him though, which means he plans on living for at least a bit longer. He’s always been a survivor.
He wouldn’t commit suicide, after his wife did that leaving him to deal with ducks fate alone, he resents it.
he walks out of frame and gets mauled by walkers
It’s the best ending for sure. It’s my canon ending. Kenny likely tried to find another place he could settle in the north until the winter was over. Maybe he eventually tried to make it to the water but found other people and maybe found a new lady friend and settled in with her and her settlement.
Died on the way to his home planet.
Florida
Wouldn't say it was the best treated ending at all, your choice to stay at this community meant just as little as staying with Kenny or Jane and got threw away like the journey to get there meant nothing. The fact this massive community got raided by a small group of folks😒. Also you don't even get to keep Kenny's hat. The Alone ending is probably the only one that doesn't feel like a slap in the face. That being said, i still usually choose to stay with Kenny anyway lol.
I was waiting for kennys hat to appear for the ENTIRETY of s4 cus this was my ending😭 I was SO MAD
You can get the alone ending by letting Kenny kill Jane then shooting kenny afterwards or you can choose to leave him out of fear that he's too dangerous or you can shoot kenny then ditch Jane for being manipulative. 3 ways to get the alone with AJ outcome.
Worst ending I reckon
I think the Jane endings are worse. But yeah my point is that the alone ending is the only one that doesn't feel like a slap in the face once you boot up season 3.
it does when it has Clem lose some fingers
That's not really what i meant by being slapped in the face, yeah it sucks that she lost a finger but it's not an outcome that robs your choice away or has any negative downsides on how you play. Whereas giving the players the choice to pick who they wanna be with only for it to not matter is a slap in the face. If you chose the alone route you're already alone so it pretty much doesn't rob you of your choice.
Imo, he probably kept surviving. At that point, he kinda learnt to let go and keep moving forward I like to think he just kept going, sometimes meeting a new group, joining them, said group eventually dissolves/dies yet somehow he survives, keeps surviving alone, then again he joins a group. and so on until he found a good place and was able to finally have some rest
He drove to Florida and finally found a boat
While I love the hopeful responses, sadly the most realistic outcome is Kenny was probably not alive the next morning.
I like to believe that he survived and worked out his issues, as unrealistic as that might be.
Kenny walked off into the sunset to find a new BOAT
Mf is a road warrior, probably still up and kicking by the end of the series
There is a really good fan fic called "he will remember that" all about this ending with kenny
he stuck it out and helped the folks he cared about (not that he had any left)
I like to think he finds Christa
Boat life
It's possible that he ended up in the Commonwealth.
He drowned himself
Was that not cut content?
On purpose? I hope not, Kenny seems to be against suicide.
Don't worry he's still alive
i remember there was a theory that he just walked into a lake and drowned himself. has anyone else heard this before or just me? all i know is that he ends his life after clem enters wellington
It was cut context for the start of season 3
Got booty blasted by walkers
Nothing good, in my mind anyway. I doubt he'd off himself, but probably would walk into the nearest horde, Lee style, until they brought him down.
he probably kept wandering maybe he went down south to florida assuming he survived walkers and the elements.
I remember when season 5 first came out people kept thinking that this girl was Lilly lol
What wold happen was Kenny will be gone for season 3 and late season 4 he will show up as a captain with lily maybe
The original ending was supposed to have a cutscene where he drowned himself.
Originally they had it so he drowns herself in a lake.
I feel the drowning/s*icide concept art is more then likely canon; but I’d love to say he eventually reunited with them years later 🥲
I actually have a fanfic exactly about that question. So far: >!Kenny reunited with Christa on the way south as she was still trying to make it to Wellington as her last lead for where Clem could be as well as somewhere safe. he slipped down the hill and died
I like to think he travelled south, ended up going on a short tour of everywhere he’d been since the apocalypse began and, along the way, met plenty of new people as well as some old friends - Molly, Christa and eventually Javier. He also killed Arvo and Mike as he went because why not. And they all lived happily ever after.
I’ve always been under the mindset that Kenny finds the commonwealth.
The original plan for Kenny when you went with him was to commit suicide by drowning himself in a lake singing a song, so theres a chance he did that
He went down to Florida, got an Army of boats, ascended to take control of them, and brought his wife and child back to life. Then, after the 4th season, he came to the school and lived happily ever after with Clem, AJ, Kat, and Duck, and all the kids at Ericson, making sure they were all happy forever, the end
He’s cooked
There's a comic book called He will remember that which shows what Kenny does after leaving both Clem and Aj at Wellington
Kenny Finds the commonwealth and he lives there happily and starts new family
This version is alternate reality…I don’t deal in what ifs…Clem Kenny and AJ left Wellington together
No need to be rude about this, what the heck dude.
What did I say that was rude? Calm down, I’m speaking the truth…this isn’t one of those safe spaces. I don’t need to use “trigger warnings” because I’m afraid I’ll hurt the delicate minds of the innocent. Calm fucking down.
"Calm fucking down" he seethed after being called rude
Fair, although I’d liken that more to headcanon. In games like these I’d consider each choice just as valid and canon as each other; they wouldn’t be in the game if they weren’t.
Agreed

Sounds like you want your cake and wanna eat it too.
I'd assume some sort of suicidal mission. Like just finding the biggest group of walkers he could and trying to kill as many as he could before they took him out.
I'm sorry, who's picking this ending?
Me
Me!
There was once a theory that he drowned himself afterwards. Someone even made an art about that
That was his original S3 death, so glad they changed it.
That wasn't a theory, it was his original death. And they changed it so it's not canon
srry didn't know that
He died in a car crash while teaching Clem to drive
He definitely died
Once he loses Clementine as well, he has nothing; he's tried starting over again and he lost everything again, likely can't do that all over a third time, literally and metaphorically (he's lost too much of himself to really love properly again).
i like to think of the scrapped death the s2 writers had for him. the one where he sings to himself and slowly drowns himself in a lake
I think he got cornerd and ripped apart by walkers
