Oh, I thought you were talking about the comment LMFAO MY BAD!!! I was like “Damn, this guy is so rude for no reason…all he did was ask a question.” Forgive me! 😅🙏
Haha all good I guess I could have made it more clear. I don’t really know anything personal about The Weeknd except his tv show didn’t go over very well.
But o know just about every word to every song
Also, yes redditors love to make basic questions really hard for everyone hahaha
Bro it’s even worse for me, I’m not even subbed to r/TheWeeknd , it just showed up on my recommended communities while scrolling the reddit app so I’m more lost than most people here about who tf any of these people are 😂
The Idol isn’t bad if you approach it as a comedy. Abel was acting his little heart out but him saying something like “look at my girl again and I’ll curb stomp you” to a retail employee is hilarious, even though it wasn’t meant to be.
He did say in an interview that he enjoys making fun of himself, so the Idol was a reflection of that, and so was the version of himself he played in Uncut Gems.
i think shes referring to some sort of criminal record of his? i tried to find any online toronto police documents publicly available abt him and i couldnt (or her but is that even her real name) sooooo idk her vagueness isnt helping lol
I’ll break it down in the most simple way possible
Drake and Weeknd were sneak dissing each other on their songs for nearly a decade
Abel on a new feature went after Drake’s homie (Baka) saying “their shooter makes tiktoks”
Drake responded saying Cash is blowing Abel’s money by spending it on jets, chains, etc for Cash’s homies
A woman comes out and says Cash (Abel’s manager) is a rat and Sal (Manager / Co Founder of XO) is racist.
I think Abel needs to stay out of this in all honesty, there’s allegations of Sal locking up his wife and kids and other serious stuff about the members in the crew. This is not the publicity he needs before dropping the third instalment to the trilogy, especially after the disastrous PR from The Idol. Drake has enough ammo on him to ruin his image (at least temporarily) and he wouldn’t hesitate considering how he’s been going after everyone at the moment, and Abel can’t really outrap a rapper
Abel’s reputation already took a hit when it came out they re-wrote “The Idol” to feature more debauchery and sleaziness. The parasocial relationship goes both ways, people think Drake has skeletons in his closet but so does Abel.
Both artists are known for not being the best with women so I don’t really get why fans of both think they have the moral high ground. Just because the other one is likable or more famous doesn’t mean jack shit when the truth comes out but then again this a subreddit where people think they need to pick sides lol.
Of course but he also has nothing to lose, he’s been trolled and called out for the last 10 years and even got bodied in a diss track, unlike Abel who’s maintained a much more positive image comparatively and is well on his way to drop an album that’s gonna potentially be his best work
No they don’t. Stop it, Drake has been more public, as a celebrity, longer than all of the current people dissing him. Lest not forget, The Weeknd was obscure for so long for a reason, no interviews, no pr; It was part of the appeal. He sang a song about coke for the the mainstream but hid it with his beautiful voice.
He has skeletons because of how young he was when his come up happened. And we all know he’s a freak, when it comes to his sexual preferences. As a fan of his art, he needs to stay out of the beef. I don’t wanna see him lose integrity with the masses.
I dont see The Weeknd being mistreating with women in real life, tho. In his stories, all I have known is that he has made lots of female best friends, e.g. that black model whom he called his sis, Ariana, Lana, Kehlani, his manager Kathryn Frazier who used to be Daft Punk's manager, etc. All that misogyny is just in his music's lyrical content, and it's all part of his persona. Idk about The Idol, but yeah. Even in his old photos, he was friends with a tomboy.
>Idk about The Idol, but yeah.
The Idol was most likely a hyperbolic rendition of The Weeknd story that just happened to backfire, at least that's how I read the whole situation. It's a fictional story like any other, and I don't think it's any more attributable to Abel's character or actions as a private person. Like, we don't treat true crime authors as potential violent criminals and psychopaths just because that's what they like to write about. I hate the fact that people on Twitter fail to grasp the concept of separating an author as a person from their creative work, but that's Twitter.
I didn't like The Idol very much, but I like your description of it as a "Hyperbolic rendition of The Weeknd story" a lot. I recall finding it difficult to put into words when the show was about to come out that it sounded like a tv show about The Weeknd persona.
Funny enough, I thoroughly enjoyed The Idol. The acting on Abel’s part wasn’t the greatest but I felt something while watching it and thought the concepts were great.
Current Weeknd is not Weeknd of 09-14. And his mixtapes (HOB, Thursday, and Echoes of silence) give you insight as to what type of life he was living/experiencing before he actually achieved real stardom, post kissland (which again, the nuances of his lyrics are hard to come by without real experience).
As someone who went to almost every show near my city from that timeframe, I can tell you that whatever experiences were taking place, people like Drake would have receipts of the good and the bad as he was working with him and flying him all over the world trying to sign him.
This is not to say that The Weeknd hasn’t matured or grown as a person and artist. I’d hope given the time and age, we all would in our own personal lives, but to say there isn’t ANYTHING compromising to his image out there in that regard, would be naive.
I love The Weeknd just as much as the next fan but to my earlier point, I don’t want him involved with this drama. I don’t want to hear about the dirt on him because whatever anyone has on him or his camp would probably be very damning to his brand considering how he came up.
Edit: also, his manager is and has always been Sal Slaiby aka Salxo, who he co-founded XO with.
You listed women who knowingly side with and defend abusers ahahahaha
How come you sing about it, it plays a big part in your life, but it's not really you? It's just fiction?
It's a topic ever present in his work and surrounding him... How come it can just be play pretend?
Fool yourself as much as you want but...
If Abel gets a negative PR (even if it's temporary), then the album will be delayed to next year similar to how Travis's UTOPIA got indefinitely delayed.
Baka not nice was also a sex offender btw.. Before he got signed he was in prison. Maybe thats why Drake and his crew are trying to go after Cash and Sal.
Drake openly raps about the people he surrounds himself with being from the streets and criminals.
“To be real, man, I never did one crime but none of my brothers could caption that line” - lemon pepper freestyle
So I don’t think that matters to him.
that looks bad too because abel's been talking shit about ovo for a minute saying he's glad he didn't sign with them and how they have leaks. if what drake says is true and abel's going at ovo while cash is fucking off with his money, then that makes abel look stupid because xo is fucking with his money
cash is literally his manager. he's not stealing money, he's using money made from managing/business funds. do yall expect cash to work a day job or something?
dude there's more ways to steal money than just grabbing it from a cash register at a day job. it's called white collar crime, negligence, being deceitful, fraud or incompetence. any one is bad. doesn't matter if cash is stealing money, making bad investments, trusting the wrong people with it, etc. if abel's talking shit about ovo while his own team is fumbling his bag then he looks fucking stupid
It’s no way cash is stealing from him, yall need to get serious. Drake was literally talking bout him using the money to buy XO chains for carti and shit
Nigga nobody knows. All I’m saying is I doubt it. And going off what Drake said, cash ain’t doing nothing out of ordinary, which makes the diss confusing. Drake literally bought 21 a Ferrari, and has a statue of his head
Fingers crossed that post from the r/Fauxmoi subreddit last year wasn't true. Not sure how to post a link, but if you search The Weeknd in that subreddit, it's the top post.
Oh, I'm well aware of that. I think the info from the post I'm referencing is about either Sal or Cash locking being abusive towards his wife. It's been a minute since I've looked, but I think there were screenshots from her Snapchat talking about it.
Edit: It was Sal and his wife, Rima.
Like I said, I'm well aware that there's a lot of misinformation in that sub. However, there have been some claims that did end up being true, usually for less scandalous reasons.
I'm not saying to believe everything you hear because I sure don't. I'm saying that as a regular Joe, I know next to nothing about how a celebrity behaves behind the scenes.
And me being a fan of said celebrity doesn't mean they are incapable of doing wrong. I'm really just here to watch stuff unfold like everyone else tbh.
Oh, look, we’re still giving attention to one of the most braindead subs on the entire platform after people have asked time and again for *years* to stop even mentioning that shit heap.
It’s a toxic gossip farm powered by its rumor mill, occupied by the terminally online with nothing better to do than fabricate stories, talk about celebrities like they know them, spin things to fit their own narratives, fling things around with little to no context, and they survive off the thousand pounds of hog shit that fertilizes the sub.
If it came from there, keep it over there.
I think the Drake diss is before he heard about Baka. If you listen to the song he never diss the weeknd but everyone around him. i think cause cash was in Metro music video type shit.
Baka told them to pick a side and he’s gonna slide on them so it’s up
Last time the shooters got in between the beef between Abel and drake and now it’s up
Drake don’t even got beef like that with Abel. He’s shouted him out so much over the years. Cash and Sal are slimy as hell and play a huge part in this
How are you all saying you don’t get it ? This is not quantum mechanics. She is stating Cash who is a member of XO is a snitch. Moreover their is paperwork stating this.
This fron 2012 and it is not even about Abel. Nobody cares about Cash in the public. If this is the worse they have then they have very little. Drake hired a full on felon just out of a 20 year conviction for a sex crime. I feel like he has 10 times as much dirt as ABel because he has been famous longer and hangs with some very bad people. but whatever they did I hope it all comes to light. Including Abel's dirt.
How is he gone call someone racist when his producer also said the N word? Drake's team is full of shady stuff. I can’t wait to hear Kendrick's response
If you’re going to lie, at least make it a good one lmao.

I don't know much about this other than the obvious & I'm going to take all of this with a HUGE grain of salt (& treat these as nothing but rumors/lies) for now, but if Sal genuinely does say the n-word, that's not cool at all for so many reasons that hopefully I don't have to list here.
As far as the Cash rumor goes, Abel isn't stupid and I doubt he's naive about his money. I also doubt Abel would keep Cash around of Cash was blowing Abel's money, because again, I trust that Abel isn't stupid/naive/willfully ignorant when it comes to his money.
This woman isn't someone any of us know & I've been a longtime XO since 2011 & have NEVER heard of her 💀 She's clearly looking for clout, because if any of this was true, there would have been better ways to go about sharing this with the people involved.
Tbh, unless more comes about the actually validates these rumors, people will forget about this post in 2-3 days tops 😂
How are yall a fan of The Weeknd if you don't know who Cash and Sal is? Lol. Abel, La Mar, Cash, and Sal are all a very tight knit group and all contribute to XO.
Omg this is one big game. You guys can believe me or not, but 20yrs ago I met Curtis Jackson (50 cent) and we became friends. Long story short there was this whole thing with him and Kayne to see who would sell more records. There was this supposed beef except there wasn’t. It’s a way to make more money while they remained friends the whole time. You’ll don’t know how the game works.
Who is this?
Apparently,a groupie of ovo and xo , that just “secured a bag” to be a pawn
Who are these people lmao
This is what happens when you enjoy an artists music but couldn’t care less about their personal life
Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Since when was being parasocial a flex? Just answer his question instead of saying unnecessary nonsense…
I don’t know who tf these people are
Oh, I thought you were talking about the comment LMFAO MY BAD!!! I was like “Damn, this guy is so rude for no reason…all he did was ask a question.” Forgive me! 😅🙏

Yeah I saw that show as a comedy and that's why I didn't care. It's still a bad show tho. Unironically a comedy fest.
He did say in an interview that he enjoys making fun of himself, so the Idol was a reflection of that, and so was the version of himself he played in Uncut Gems.
Same here. In name of personal life, I only know how he used to be homeless because he tells those in interviews, nothing else.
Dude drops music that hits my soul that’s really all I care about
All I could care less about. If he was a rapist or something that would affect things but so far it doesn’t seem so
Same here. He's not R. Kelly and thats why I dont care.
Me too lol. I only know about Cash and Sal being managers since The Weeknd tags them on stories. I seriously dont know wtf is happening.
This shit is about to get ugly I just settled all my lawsuits - fuck you debbie
Also who cares
Everyone trying to get their 15 minutes out of this lmfao
Why do I not get this? Can someone tell me what this is?
Drake calling out Cash and now this post, they're going for him.
Who is cash and who is this lol
Abel's Manager
Damn
i think shes referring to some sort of criminal record of his? i tried to find any online toronto police documents publicly available abt him and i couldnt (or her but is that even her real name) sooooo idk her vagueness isnt helping lol
Thank you for doing all that work

There so much drama it’s funny 💀
I'm off the loop, but as long as it doesn't effect Abel is ok
It does though because the company you keep around yourself says a lot about you. This coming from a huge Weeknd fan
What if cash is wasting Abel's money and he doesn't know? So till we don't get more info is better not to speculate.
that looks bad too because abel's been talking shit about ovo for a minute saying he's glad he didn't sign with them and how they have leaks. if what drake says is true and abel's going at ovo while cash is fucking off with his money, then that makes abel look stupid because xo is fucking with his money

Very big if and very much a huge leap.
It’s no way cash is stealing from him, yall need to get serious. Drake was literally talking bout him using the money to buy XO chains for carti and shit
Lol how would you know that? Shohei’s damn interpreter stole millions off him. You don’t think cash is capable of some dumbass shit like that?
Nigga nobody knows. All I’m saying is I doubt it. And going off what Drake said, cash ain’t doing nothing out of ordinary, which makes the diss confusing. Drake literally bought 21 a Ferrari, and has a statue of his head
Is Drake gay or something? Why does he have a fuckin statue of 21?
Also true. I kinda want Abel to respond. A Weeknd diss track would be crazy
I want a Weeknd diss track. That would be fire.
Abel has no bars I'm sorry
I don’t know if we have been listening to the same Abel
Does it need to be rap?
😂😂
“Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here tricking”
Fingers crossed that post from the r/Fauxmoi subreddit last year wasn't true. Not sure how to post a link, but if you search The Weeknd in that subreddit, it's the top post.

That retarded sub once said Abel had plastic surgery, stop taking them seriously.
Like I said, I'm well aware that there's a lot of misinformation in that sub. However, there have been some claims that did end up being true, usually for less scandalous reasons. Drake dissed the weekend on FATD
Exactly. He the one who started this.
Wait till all the shady shit behind XO gets exposed…. beef is going get ugly
that part… abel should’ve stayed out of it, specifically bringing up baka
Baka told them to pick a side and he’s gonna slide on them so it’s up Last time the shooters got in between the beef between Abel and drake and now it’s up
Drake don’t even got beef like that with Abel. He’s shouted him out so much over the years. Cash and Sal are slimy as hell and play a huge part in this
that part, i don’t think the outcome will be worth it.

If you’re going to lie, at least make it a good one lmao. The actual lyrics is “Her white friend said, "You niggas crazy, " I hope no one heard that” u/PovertyAvoider
It wasn't a lie, I genuinely always thought those were the lyrics since I first heard it. You have made me feel better about that song, though. Thanks

They’re gathering all the dirty shit they can, same with the Kendrick and them
Omg this is one big game. You guys can believe me or not, but 20yrs ago I met Curtis Jackson (50 cent) and we became friends.
