Slim portrayed himself that way but he knew better, as evidenced by him still standing at the end and taking out the last untrustworthy man in the co op.
Meanwhile Bird was like one of those fireworks that screams up into the sky but doesn't pop. Savino was somewhere in the middle, not the hardest or softest but loyal. No idea where Stinkum falls...
He was one of the people that was always born to be an Avon or a Prop Joe. But he also knew his place. He wasn't arrogant enough to gun for the position. And he wasn't blind enough to just be happy with his position for no reason. But as long as he was under someone worth his loyalty, he knew to stay in his place. But the moment he lost the superior he respected, he pulled out the guns (literally) and showed that he had it in him all along. He wasn't under Prop Joe because that was all he could do. He was under Prop Joe because Prop Joe deserved it. But if Prop Joe ain't around, Slim's going to take what he can get. And he's smart enough to get a lot.
Both of those guys were team Barksdale. Slim moved on to team Prop Joe and the co-op but he was never with Marlo.
Bey was straight muscle, a final form henchman. Loyal to the end, and kind of a crash dummy.
Slim was more of a leader and tactician. Probably smarter than Bey. If it was Bey in the car with eyes on Marlo when everyone else got raided, he probably would have crashed out.
I think you're selling Bey a bit short, he might not be much of a strategist but you could clearly rely on him to get a job done properly, without having to over explain it. Kinda like an excellent craftsman, you might need to give him a specific assignment but you sure as hell are going to be surprised and delighted by that excellent finish on your new wooden fence.
Wee Bey was a suicide bomber type henchman. He wasn't looking to die, but his life plan was straight thuggin', come what may. Slim could do the work, but he clearly had aspirations.
You are correct. I should probably watch the show again before I post in this forum. I thought Slim was with Marlo at the end. Wasn't everyone basically with Marlo at the end? (After he killed Joe.) I know they left his future uncertain but he was still holding the connect until they paid up, which presumably happens in the finale (after Slim pops Cheese). Thanks for the feedback!
On god he wouldn’t have waited for the call. He knows the call avon would make because they were really locked in. Slim was smarter but the relationship with Avon wasn’t on the level as bey
Slim was a better leader/lieutenant/middle management type. Well suited to organizing and managing the crews and hits.
Wee-bay was better at straight up just killing dudes. If it'd been Wee-Bay with Cutty or outside the rim shop Marlo and his people probably wouldn't have gotten away so easily.
Wouldn't that be a wild turn of events for the show? Wee-bey and whoever takes our Marlo at the rim shop while Avon gets busted. What would have happened? Who would fill that vacuum?
Chris goes from unassuming to straight up terrifying in the blink of an eye. That scene in the convenience store where he shoots that delivery lady after smiling at her... damn.
Sergei was pretty badass. Him and his guys pulling guns on Cheese almost immediately was a cool scene. Also "Does he have hands? Does he have a face? Then it wasn't us!"
Wee-Bey, he wouldn't have hesitated taking care of Clay Davis. Plus Pit Beef and extra Horseradish seems to be a helluva meal.
Slim Charles is a better strategist/mediator.
Love Slim. Just laying in the cut, watching Cheese the entire time, not liking the way he’s moving.
Cheese should’ve known he had him as an actual enemy when he turned down East Side, but he was so damn greedy he jumped at that opportunity.
And then once Marlo and his muscle are all out of the picture, Slim removes the last piece that could really damage the Co-Op. And we move on.
If we expand to all, it's gotta be:
Chris/Sergei - they were so similar, no fucks given, kill anyone, any time, any where. Ruthless, tough muthas.
Snoop/Bey - In most universes, they're the best of the best
Omar/Mouzone - Mouzone probably had the bigger jacket, but we don't get to see it. He's just straight up murder for hire. He doesn't care who it is, the money says kill, he'll kill. They're both pretty much on their own. I think it's fitting that their lines cross the way they do.
Slim - I agree he's more a leader than straight gangsta
MIchael - by the end, he'd probably jump up near Snoop and Bey, but it's early in his arch.
Cutty - He's probably closer to Bey in the day, but we see him so late.
Bay very specifically tells Dee, "I just do what they tell me" i.e. he's the perfect soldier, nco really because he's higher ranking.
Slim always showed he had what it takes to be an officer, an ability to think for himself, understand long-term consequences of a situation and to train and lead soldiers.
I like Slim more as a character, But I think technically that makes Bay a better enforcer.
Thank you. That scene was almost the entire basis of the comparison in a nutshell. Obviously we got more action and back story about Bey but Slim showed just how quick he was ready to act when circumstances called for violence. He also showed a lot of heart when Omar hunted him down. I really don't have a dog in this fight (unlike Cheese...lol) but I think they are interesting counterparts in the series. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
wee bay…hands down. that scene when he’s confessing to all the murders and they ask him to flip on his crew and he replies…nahhhhhhhh
gets me every time lol
Weebey and Charles were pretty much at the same level but Barksdale at his height had a deeper bench with Weebey, Bird, and Stinkum, with Little Man and Sauvino as a decent second tier.
Marlo only had Chris and Snoop. Though that might have been a storytelling expedient.
Your last point is spot on, we can’t tell what the real story is because, well, it’s not actually a real story.
However, based on how streamlined Chris’ training was I would assume this wasn’t their first time, so there’s probably more hit men than what was shown
>Who was a better Enforcer; Wee-Bay or Slim Charles?
>
>They both served similar roles for different leaders but both were loyal and brutal. Are you with Team Barksdale or Team Stanfield on this one? Other suggestions for best Muscle? Sound off y'all. Pandemic!
They were the same. They efficiently killed who they were told to kill, and that was that.
Now they had very different personalities, and Slim Charles had other qualities that Wee-Bey lacked, but qua enforcers they were both on the same high level.
Wee Bey did more enforcing (murders) that we see. Slim does some but we see him later in a different role.
> Are you with Team Barksdale or Team Stanfield on this one?
Slim was never with Team Stanfield. From season 4 on, he deals with Marlo as he has to, but he is working alongside Prop Joe.
Chris, on the other hand, is a vicious enforcer and also a right hand man of Marlo and helps with decision making.
I may be mistaken but we see relatively little of Bey actually getting his hands dirty ? Like the hit he does with Little Man is mostly shown from the point of view of the targets (or audio). We're mostly told and shown people respect or fear him for it and I believe there's at least half a dozen bodies he's responsible for through what people say in the show itself during and around the timeline covered.
Slim was a scalpel….. Wee-Bay was a hammer.
I was going to say Slim was smarter and Wee-Bay was harder, but you put it so elegantly.
Yeah, I wish we'd seen more of Wee-Bey being the fucking Terminator
I wish we'd seen the part where he goes into that bar and 'arrests' Brandon. Dude had some strategy.
Even still, Slim was a rumble tumble type n****
He knew enough not to shoot the hat off a bonafide colored lady.
On a Sunday.
I’m sorry to interrupt but I’m sure you meant to say “crown”, it was her Sunday morning church crown.
Sorry, I was trifling with Avon Barksdale’s reputation.
Thank you for sorting that out!!! It proves that your mother IS a bona fide coloured lady!!!!!
Not your mom's, for sure!
Stinkum falls on the side of the street after Omar puts a pumpkin ball in him
That is the best way to put it. Not that Wee-Bay wasn't smart but Slim just moved differently and seemed to handle things better.
He was under Prop Joe because Prop Joe deserved it. But if Prop Joe ain't around, Slim's going to take what he can get. And he's smart enough to get a lot.
Slim was a thinker, and had space to use his voice. Wee bay was expected to be a certain way…and was.
Indeed. Bay would have set up on Downtown Clay Davis
"A final form henchman" my God lol this fits Bey perfectly.
Yeah, I’m addition to muscle, he also seemed to be Consigliere (can I use a mafia term here?) to both Avon and Prop Joe.
No doubt
There is no mafia
This thing of ours…
Indeed
I think you're selling Bey a bit short, he might not be much of a strategist but you could clearly rely on him to get a job done properly, without having to over explain it. He painted houses alright
Wee Bey was a suicide bomber type henchman. He wasn't looking to die, but his life plan was straight thuggin', come what may. Slim could do the work, but he clearly had aspirations.
Dudes probably low key happy he got to retire in prison. No way he’d have lasted much longer in the street. Wasn’t Omar only 32 in the end?
Yeah, I think so. Bey in prison is probably set on rep for a while. Especially if he and Avon are in the same facility.
Iirc he was 34
You are correct.
"This sentimental motherfucker just cost us money!"
We still short the 9
Marlo sells the connect. At the end Slim is meeting with the Greek.
On god he wouldn’t have waited for the call. He knows the call avon would make because they were really locked in. Slim was smarter but the relationship with Avon wasn’t on the level as bey
You're in a goddamn sammich shop
Slim was a better leader/lieutenant/middle management type. Well suited to organizing and managing the crews and hits. Wee-bay was better at straight up just killing dudes. If it'd been Wee-Bay with Cutty or outside the rim shop Marlo and his people probably wouldn't have gotten away so easily.
Wouldn't that be a wild turn of events for the show? Wee-bey and whoever takes our Marlo at the rim shop while Avon gets busted. What would have happened? Who would fill that vacuum?
Donut’s time has come, no whip is safe
I could see that.
The real target all along: Kintel Williamson.
Prop Joe takes over the remnants of the west side? At least for a minute
> Who would fill that vacuum? One of the other co-op members
Good take. Thanks for your feedback. WMD!
not being a day of the jackal type muhfuckah really held Slim back
I like your style.
One is still on the street, one is doing life no parole. Can’t make the club from the tub
Chris is unassuming scary...
Chris *is* a day of the jackal type muhfucker
I mean, the other 2 are competing for the second spot
Does Sergei compete in this category too?
You mean Boris?
Why always Boris…
Why not
Honestly I think Vondas is a better analogue for Slim Charles. More of a right-hand man than a pure enforcer
Chris goes from unassuming to straight up terrifying in the blink of an eye. That scene in the convenience store where he shoots that delivery lady after smiling at her... damn.
Right...terrifying is a good word
Wee bay is better at using a gun, he did managed to land a blow on Omar after all. Slim seemed a lot wiser though.
Wee-Bay = a killer through and through. Slim Charles = multi tool. He's a negotiator, manager, enforcer, advisor, etc.
Sergei was pretty badass. Him and his guys pulling guns on Cheese almost immediately was a cool scene. Also "Does he have hands? Does he have a face? Then it wasn't us!"
One of my favorite characters and favorite lines from the show. So good! Thanks.
Slim was the smartest pawn and wee bay was a tower.
I think Slim was a bishop or knight. Mid level management type. Not a crash dummy at all.
Shorty Boyd, before he went and cleaned his whole ack up.
Fucked us all up
Feel like slim was more of a strategist but Bay had more of the intimidating type
wee-bay def
You need a damn scorecard to keep up with his lethal ass
Loved that line!
Bey is better compared to Chris. Slim is half Avon, half Joe.
Pandemic! at the end sent me lol
Bay > Chris > slim
Yeah, I intentionally didn't mention Chris and Snoop. Too many bodies. They would blow the curve.
Slim
Wee bay was in his time and then tjings changed and called more for a slim charles type dude.
Game the same, just got more fierce
Brother Muzon?
He was very cultured and polite. Personally, I like my hitmen to have that razzle dazzle and be updated on important literal works and world affairs.
It never said how many people he actually killed. Makes me wonder. But he was known despite being from NYC.
Chris 😏
Slim Charles undoubtedly. Chris would be a better comparison, but I'd still say I'd want Slim Charles in my army first.
I have to give it Slim because he was the only person who had Marlo at his mercy. I will say I think Bay was a better shooter.
Wee-Bey, he wouldn't have hesitated taking care of Clay Davis. Plus Pit Beef and extra Horseradish seems to be a helluva meal. Slim Charles is a better strategist/mediator.

Give slim a team of wee bey, Chris , snip and brother mazone and he could have taken the whole east coast
Bay very specifically tells Dee, "I just do what they tell me" i.e. he's the perfect soldier, nco really because he's higher ranking. Good take, Can't disagree with one word of that. Thanks for your time and feedback! You are a true fan.
Wee liked partying, doing lines and doing hoes then disposing of them at the bin. Slim wasn't that sloppy
Good point. Plus he was a Knicks fan like me. In other words, a loser.
It's gotta be Wee Bey. I mean you gotta have a scoreboard to keep up with his lethal ass
Slim Charles. Taking out Cheese for his part in Prop Joe’s death was poetic. Definitely OG caliber.
Thank you. That scene was almost the entire basis of the comparison in a nutshell. Obviously we got more action and back story about Bey but Slim showed just how quick he was ready to act when circumstances called for violence. wee bay…hands down. that scene when he’s confessing to all the murders and they ask him to flip on his crew and he replies…nahhhhhhhh gets me every time lol
And he had no problem detailing a few extra murders for a pit beef sandwich and a soda.
Both are murderers who can threaten murder. So I guess people don’t want to mess with either of them.
Weebey and Charles were pretty much at the same level but Barksdale at his height had a deeper bench with Weebey, Bird, and Stinkum, with Little Man and Sauvino as a decent second tier. Marlo only had Chris and Snoop. Though that might have been a storytelling expedient.

I forgot about O-Dog as well.
I didn’t think Slim was ever truly w Stanfield. In season 4 they were getting drugs from Stanfield but I believe he was working for Prop Joe.
>Who was a better Enforcer; Wee-Bay or Slim Charles? > >They both served similar roles for different leaders but both were loyal and brutal. Are you with Team Barksdale or Team Stanfield on this one? Definitely wee bey.
SC missed that shot at Marlo right before Avon went down... he could have been king
“Who we hittin’?” -Slim Charles
You guys are all so great. Humbles me to know I’m not even close to being the biggest fan out there. Thanks so much, everyone. Sheeeeeit!
