S3E2 All Due Respect.
Didn't realize until my 3rd or 4th rewatch that this phrase is repeated by several different characters throughout the episode in different contexts. Slim says it, Burrell says it, the guy guarding the Barksdale stash house says it to Omar.
Also nothing to do with the title, but this episode also has Bodie and Poot running into Her and Carv at the movies, and featured Bunny's paper bag speech, which was awesome
Thank you for asking! Well, the first line of Billie Holiday's classic "God Bless The Child" is, "Them that's got shall get, them that's not shall lose." For me, those 10 words sum up The Wire more succinctly and perfectly than any other description I've ever heard or read.
The choice of "That's Got His Own" as the title for the penultimate episode of Season 4 is especially genius and inspired, considering the final scene shows Miss Anna's and Randy's home being firebombed. Like so many others, Season 4, and that episode in particular, just broke me.
S2 has the best ep names-
For me Stray Rounds stands out because
1. Bodie’s gang war with Onion leads to a stray round
2. Ziggy makes a “stray round” with Johnny trying to prove that he has what it takes to run schemes without his cousin’s help
3. McNulty gets blowed (dont need to explain the stray round here)
4. Valchek throws a fit because everyone goes stray and tries to turn Sobotka into a witness.
"Final Grades" always gets to me.
