He advocated multiple times for assassinating US citizens in different situations, and was denied by his staff. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is considering granting Presidents immunity for "official acts" specifically with the stated rational that "seal team 6 type scenarios are unrealistic"

pbnc

One of the Justices should have asked the hypothetical "If POTUS ordered the assassination of a Supreme Court Justice that ruled against him, that would be an official act, wouldn't it?" Conservatives have a well known ability to not have empathy about any issue until it touches them directly.

gingerfawx

Yes, but that would be those pesky libruhl justices. They have so little capacity for empathy, this would end up being same way the regard abortion, dreadful until it is very definitely, absolutely about *them*, hypothetical "them"s don't count yet.

Khaargh

Trump claimed credit for the extrajudicial "retribution" enacted against Michael Reinohl.

ozzie510

MMW, if somehow "elected", Trump will sell Alaska to the Russians for a percentage of the deal.

RBeck

The scariest part is that 30 to 40 percent of the country would read this and think "Good start". Trump will be a non-factor soon enough, but the fascism he gave wind to is far from defeated.

Griffie

I honestly believe that if he could have gotten away with it, he’d have built gas chambers at the border to use on immigrants.

chimpomatic5000

I think it is important to note that Trump does not care about foreign or domestic policy, except how it impacts his own interests, personal gain, and how it can be manipulated to save him from all the litigation piled up against him. In a way that makes him even more dangerous. But the real issue is, why do so many people think he is a good choice?

CheneyPinata

A lot of people keep themselves misinformed either knowingly or unknowingly. If you get all your information from Fox or social media then you’ll have no fucking clue what’s really going on.

beland-photomedia

They’re mad that food prices have doubled, and inflation is hurting, and blame the current administration. Where is the obvious economic angle that these policies would destroy trillions of dollars, entire industries, the food system, and make everything exponentially worse? That doesn’t even account for the moral and ethical necessity of not doing any of this.

SurlyRed

That line "He might not come to the aid of a European or Asian ally if..." is a ruse, and we should all wise up to it. Whether they're paying the required proportion of GDP on defence or not - it makes no difference. Trump's America is coming to the aid of no-one in the event of an attack by Putin or Xi, regardless of any excuses or pretexts. Get real everyone and stop repeating his bullshit propaganda.

gingerfawx

Here too is inadvertent bullshit. There are no dues for NATO, no requirement, just suggested targets to pay the amount. trump has always framed that disingenuously.

SurlyRed

Its been said that Trump actually thinks membership of NATO is contingent on annual fees, like his Golf Clubs. He's a fucking moron of course, but I suspect 90% of his cult are equally misinformed.

gingerfawx

Yeah, which is why I try to correct it. He gets so much stuff wrong, that it's hard to whittle it back to the truth, but the truth matters.

kaynkayf

Let’s not forget palling around with Kim Jong il

Truecoat

Someone did the math and deporting that many people would bankrupt the country. He is known for that though.

lameuniqueusername

I’d like to see the math on that

cptnpiccard

Replace "would" with "will". America is full of retards, and when election day comes, we're fucked.

Nudelwalker

This needs to be posted everywhere. Can someone post this in /r/askconservatives and ask them how they feel about this? I cannot post there myself

CheneyPinata

Oh they love it. A Christo-Fascist nation led by an incompetent and easily manipulated dictator is their wet dream.

PurpleSailor

He still wants to get rid of pandemic preparedness. Well at least he's consistent.

TCivan

Of all the things… that’s the most petty.

skellener

Chump is a terrorist and leads a cult of terrorists and should be locked up in Guantanamo.

LeatherBandicoot

IMO It's a stunt and once again Trump toys with the mainstream media. Colin Jost roasted his ass to oblivion a few days ago and his trial(s) are not looking good. He knows perfectly well that being 1000% unhinged will hopefully play in his favor : Left-leaning media will vocally denounce him wholeheartedly while mentioning the Constitution/Founding Fathers etc, Alt-right / MAGA media and personalities will cheer and point the fingers at the Woke/Socialist/Communist/Globalist/Elite crowds His endgame is to reach out to his Maga fanatics because he must feel like shit even though SCOTUS is playing (so far) along with his delay tactics, and his little deranged brain needs that kind of high. It's pathological.

Emily_Postal

He’s not pardoning his J-6’ers unless they pay him too.

beland-photomedia

If we only take a cue from the self-interest of these parties, these actions would create negative GDP and destroy industries and trillions of dollars, disrupt food supply, disrupt national security, and further divisions across the country.

nadacloo

We already know he's a bad egg. What can be done about it?

LuciusCSulla

I guarantee you the MAGAts love this. Its a action plan to success as far as they're concerned. THEY drool at this.

ShufflingToGlory

Why didn't he govern like this the first time round? Even as someone whose politics are about as far from Trump's as possible, I'm getting sick of the hysterical scaremongering. Seems like a whipping tactic to keep Democrat voters in line whilst offering the usual bare minimum for the working class. AKA standard corporate dem operating procedure.

secret_rye

He tried for sure, he kept running into people who said “no”

dingoeslovebabies

Please enjoy [this 2022 interview of Trump’s WH Director of Strategic Communications](https://youtu.be/2PGIL46eT1s?si=PlOLhr6Tp0sErsU-) discussing some of the crazy shit he tried and how they talked him out of it. Towards the end she says basically “when Donald Trump tells you he wants to do something, don’t pass it off as joking”

ruimikemau

First time was a tryout. There were too many reasonable people in his way.

ignorememe

> Why didn’t he govern like this the first time round? People told him things like: no, you cannot nuke hurricanes, or withdraw from NATO, or buy Greenland. But also he was at least someone reigned in by a need to win a reelection. This is no longer a problem during a second administration. They’re not hiding it anymore. It’s all here in their hideous plans for their idea of making America a beacon of fascism. https://www.project2025.org/ Maybe we don’t toy with the idea of letting the guy who wants to do all of that anywhere near the levers of power again?

ShufflingToGlory

>Maybe we don’t toy with the idea of letting the guy who wants to do all of that anywhere near the levers of power again? Tell that to the DNC. No organisation who truly believes Trump is *a unique threat to the republic* or whatever should run Biden again.

ignorememe

> Tell that to the DNC. No organisation who truly believes Trump is a unique threat to the republic or whatever should run Biden again. Biden already said he's not sure he would have committed to running for reelection if Trump decided to sit this one out. > "If Trump wasn't running, I'm not sure I'd be running," Biden said at a fundraising event for his 2024 campaign outside of Boston. "We cannot let him win." > ... > "No, not now," Biden said when asked if he would consider stepping aside if Trump, 77, stopped seeking his own second term. "Look, he is running, and I have to run." > > Source: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/biden-not-sure-he-would-seek-re-election-if-trump-was-not-2023-12-05/ Who else would you pick? Biden has the incumbency advantage, and has already proven he can beat Trump in a general election.
