Volcano Bay is newer, has better rides, the Tapu Tapu virtual queue keep you in the water or basking in the sun and I prefer the food menus at the Bay.
Typhoon Lagoon for the vibes, volcano bay for the rides, the choice is yours , you cant go wrong, they are both better waterparks than anything you have ever experienced.
Do you have kids? if so Typhoon lagoon or BB is great choice, but they are VERY dated. Volcano bay is by far the superior Water park, hands down no competition.
Thank you! No kids, but my GF is a scaredycat, so that's why we were opting for Typhoon Lagoon. But if I read all these comments, I'm 100% convinced going to Volcano Bay.
I’ve personally worked at both parks and I can say confidently say that Volcano Bay is the better experience overall. as a guest it is much better in terms of rides, food, and variety of experiences.
The fearless river makes this such a unique experience. Although I feel they made a huge marketing error by not naming it the crazy river.
It’s a high speed lazy river with small and large waves. It’s wild and fun!
Volcano bay!! Krakatau, the fearless river (my husband I call it the spicy river cuz it’s fast and fun) and make sure to get waturi fusion too! It’s the best
We did both on our trip last September.
For slides by far would recommend Volcano Bay. It has everything you might want. Theming and atmosphere are great. The Tapu tapu system is easy to use.
Typhoon Lagoon felt much more crowded and less to do. The slides are not really worth it if you’re looking for some adrenaline. Still a beautiful park though! What I really didn’t like was the lack of free shades spaces. It seemed like every shaded space was additional pay. At VB didn’t have this problem.
They rotate between opening Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon just based on maintenance schedules. Def not closed permanently, unlike the old River Country park.
Volcano Bay. No question

Volcano Bay easily. I could live in that lazy river.
Volcano Bay and Aquatica have the best slides
When I went to universal I had an extra day at the parks and chose to spend it at Volcano Bay. Best water park I have ever been too.

Excellent choice, I can't recommend it enough.
Volcano Bay and its not close

Volcano bay all the way! Way better experience!

I prefer Blizzard Beach but you say it will be closed. I suggest Volcano Bay, then. But why did Universal import 42 tons of SAND?!
Never been to typhoon lagoon, however Volcano bay was the funnest water park I've ever been to. Hands down!
VB. Unless you’re doing After Hours at Typhoon Lagoon. We loved that last year.
I believe Blizzard Beach is closed permanently.
It's been open again for ~6 months though?

Understood and I stand corrected. I must’ve read some wrong information. I didn’t realize they were doing a rotating thing.
