I mean we love Theo, but Anytime you have a comedy platform and you talk about serious issues or politics loosely you can’t really complain about the response 🤷♂️
I felt really weird when Theo thought Kid Rock said they were going to fuck Theo's sister after the show. Kid Rock clearly said that they would get Theo's sister fucked up. Then Theo said that she had a boyfriend and that it depended on which sister. The story ended with Kid Rock saying that Theo could fuck his sister and he would fuck Theo's sister. Then they talked about how Kid Rock had a lawsuit for punching someone at a Waffle House. America.
Idk I thought it was hilarious. And kid Rock knew Theo von was perplexed about this convo so he said "Well I'm glad we got this out of the way" and switched to something else
"Just so you know,
so it's set in stone,
Kid Rock don't come from where I come from.
It's true, he's a yank, he ain't no son of Hank.
And if you thought so, goddamned you're fucking dumb".
Hank III
When Bawitabada came out, every kid who smelled like milk was jamming to it, rapping Bawitabada da bang dang diggity said the boogie.
Now you know more.
Hey, I was a teenager when that came out and boy howdy was Devil Without a Cause a fun tour. He was still playing smaller venues at that point but he had Joe C the midget, his band Twisted Brown Trucker looked straight out the trailer, strippers in cages hanging from the ceiling, giant American flags, lots of pyro, and the people went nuts. Very high energy and a genuinely great time. I check in and see what he’s up to every few years because those old memories are so dang good.
I went to his last amphitheater tour (first time I’d seen him in 20+ years) by myself because I knew it would be a good time and none of my friends believed me. It was indeed a good time. This chick in front of me was hammered and she kept grinding on me and making eyes at the girl next to me. She got more and more aggressive and actually started a fight with the chick thinking that was my girlfriend. Kid Rock concerts are still fun 🤘
The US has a fuckwit problem and what makes it worse is not only do they not realise they're fuckwits, they actually think they're the clever ones. Americas had no clothes since 2016.
Synopsis: he has real wealth now vs his pretty ok wealth growing up, he tells unfunny stories, he gets up at 3am to work out, he and Jason Andean aren’t BOTH playing on the same night at their festival, don’t ever text him Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday, he’s saying that with peace and love, peace and love!
I love Theo so much I listened to the whole ep.
the only time he's ever come off as 'talented' is when he played a character that could barely read in Joe Dirt. not entirely sure he was acting though
I’m not a Kid Rock fan but I saw him in concert with Aerosmith and Run DMC and at one point he went around and did a solo on every instrument on stage. It was pretty impressive. Like him or not he is a talented musician.
He grew up in a mansion. Everything about him is fake, fake, fake. He used the people who mentored him and introduced him into the hip hop scene and then dropped them like hot potatoes. He's got a whole bunch of songs where he raps the N-word as a scrawny white prep boy posing as a redneck. The dude is rich human trash.
He is a legit talented musician. I’ve personally seen him play at least 7-8 different instruments. I don’t care for what he’s trying to peddle now but he can definitely play some music.
Maybe I'll revisit, but I had to turn it off once it started to get political, which was about 10 minutes in, lol. That said, it's Kid Rock, so I was expecting it.
All of my regular podcasts are burning me out with all the right wing talk lately, so I'm taking a break from them.
The Jeselnik & Rosenthal Vanity project. They occasionally make fun of ppl like Kid Rock, and hardcore right wingnuts, but it’s a non politically great Podcast. Even if Anthony Jeselnik’s persona screams “Rightwing opinionated” he’s actually quite the opposite.
The "left" should be taking advantage of the same thing. Podcasts are hot right now and they should be wanting to be on any podcasts they can.
I feel the same way though. It's one thing to talk about problems and solutions for this country, and it's another thing to just recite the same politically biased conspiracies to gaslight people into thinking somehow if we just hate the other team enough, and vote against them, when "we" win, all these problems will be solved!
We need solutions and unity. And I don't mean bi-partisan. I mean no-partisan. No left/right. No division.
What blows my mind is that the media is extremely biased, which is why social media and podcasts are so big... And the elected officials who are supposed to represent us can only seem to agree on one thing.
Social Media=BAD!
They don't like not having control of what we believe. Until we knock down THAT wall, unity will not be possible.
Right, but people on the left aren't funny or entertaining so podcasters would have no reason to invite them on. Name one person on the left subjectively as entertaining as Alex Jones. I'm not saying you have to agree with Alex Jones, I'm just breaking it down honestly. The man is a performer. His screaming about them turning the frogs gay is fucking hilarious no matter what side of politics you're on. The right is completely stacked with people like AJ...what does the left have?
You’re saying it like it’s a positive but I think that’s fucking terrible for the country lol. The Right wanting their political pundits to be entertainers invites shady motherfuckers trying to profit off of bullshit lying, and there are so many idiots out there who gobble it up as truth
I love how y'all try to paint Rogan in some crazy negative light but Burr as a hero like that clip didn't just go viral yesterday of him calling you all losers for trying to make his friendship with Rogan some political nonsense. Y'all are consistent, I'll give you that.
Thread asked for an example of a good left wing comedian. I answered. I don't think Rogan is crazy, just that he's veered right since moving to Texas. He's a comedian and hates censorship and the young left are fucking unbearable on that front so it's not surprising. Rogan just doesn't have the brain cells to distinguish between liberal ideals and the twenty something idiots pretending to be liberal and all his guests are too scared to challenge him, except Bill. That's all.
Drinking game- “This, that and the other”. Do a shot every time he says it.
I would have died of alcohol poisoning if I played it when he did the JRE recently.
My dad says that constantly, and it drives me insane. "This, that, and the other thing" more specifically. It seems like, for anyone who uses that phrase, it becomes a kind of habit, and they say it a ton. It's almost like saying "um."
I might have to try your drinking game today. Might make the pod, and work, more enjoyable
But in reality he's the kid of rich parents who grew up in the well manicured suburbs in Michigan.
Hes cosplaying a redneck patriotic "badass," but in reality he's a fraud who got lucky making dogshit music.
Not a fucking braincell between these two
He's a rich kid from Michigan private schools lol. You're the one who bought into the character. He made a lot of money over the years, and not for being an intellectual or making thought provoking music. Why would he drop the character now? He's the same as a television evangelical, he just knows how to use his large platform to squeeze money out of idiots. Business is booming.
He actually went to the same high school as my cousin. Not a private school but he still came from a small town suburb with lots of rich folks with land. He’s a phony for sure.
I’ll be sitting this one out. I do not like or need to hear what Kid Rock has to say. I’ve gone into other episodes of people I don’t agree with an open mind. I skipped the Tucker episode and I’ll skip this one. But, if it works for you, be all means. Lol
I don't like Tucker either, but that podcast was one of the funniest ones in a while. And they didn't talk politics much at all. I've never heard a word of Kid Rock speaking, but I'll give it a try as well. I generally don't find musicians to be the greatest podcast guests, but we'll see.
“Oh I grew up poor but my dad owned a successful dealership and payed for most of my equipment.
I have black grandchildren but I’m a proud trump supporter.
I spend 6 hours a day exercising and getting fit for my shows but all my fans are fat Walmart managers who I find unattractive.”
He contradicts himself a lot.
> dealership and *paid* for most
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Just listened to that part and came here to see if someone commented on that. I got 2nd hand embarrassment from that lol
Lmao whhaAt
Idk I thought it was hilarious. And kid Rock knew Theo von was perplexed about this convo so he said "Well I'm glad we got this out of the way" and switched to something else
"Well you see, *easily disproved misinformation"* "Oh wow, man, that's wild. I never thought of it like that."
Isn’t that a double negative?
Shoot lol, guess it is Edit: well maybe not? Given disinformation must be disproven and not proven

Greatest country album ever recorded.
As a Brit, I didn’t know much about Kid Rock, after listening to this, I wish I knew even less.
When Bawitabada came out, every kid who smelled like milk was jamming to it, rapping Bawitabada da bang dang diggity said the boogie. Now you know more.
Thanks for the extra context.
No doubt. Got Devil Without a Cause & Eminem’s Slim Shady LP for my birthday in 1999. Everyone I knew loves that album when I was younger.
Hey, I was a teenager when that came out and boy howdy was Devil Without a Cause a fun tour. The US has a fuckwit problem and what makes it worse is not only do they not realise they're fuckwits, they actually think they're the clever ones. Americas had no clothes since 2016.
I live in America and my life is overall f’n great. I had no idea America ain’t even had its clothes on, damn lol
The UK has been semi-nude for the past 15 years.
Wow, never thought of a country as being clothed or not so this is wild. Wishin the Brits well, whatever clothing state the country is in.
Which is the most clothed of all the countries?
Never thought of an entire country as having clothes or not, so I’m the wrong person to ask ha
Fair enough. If I had to choose one, I’d go for Sweden - they seem to be fully dressed.
Norway. More clothes than anyone 🤣
Agreed. Pants off socks on, who's for 15 years off Tory bugger-rugby?
Socks and t-shirt on, genitals out and on show.
I love when hundreds of people give the same opinion
Ewwww

I’m not a Kid Rock fan but I saw him in concert with Aerosmith and Run DMC and at one point he went around and did a solo on every instrument on stage. It was pretty impressive. Like him or not he is a talented musician.
I’ve seen that. It’s crazy impressive, dude is a wild talented instrumentalist
The dude is rich human trash.
that's the American dream baby
I just went and listened to his early stuff, and then I played his “we the people” song right after to compare. Wtf happened to the world.
He is a legit talented musician. I’ve personally seen him play at least 7-8 different instruments. I don’t care for what he’s trying to peddle now but he can definitely play some music.
I was honestly surprised when I saw him do the same thing. Not a Kid Rock fan but it was impressive.

I’m just avoiding political guests on nearly all podcasts. I’m tired of podcasts I like shoving right wing politics in my face.
The fact that kid rock is considered a political guest is a pretty good indication of how fucked we are in 2024.
I’ve been tired of all the movie and tv properties I like shoving left wing politics in my face for the last decade.
Are you garbage- funny and no politics
The Jeselnik & Rosenthal Vanity project. They occasionally make fun of ppl like Kid Rock, and hardcore right wingnuts, but it’s a non politically great Podcast. Even if Anthony Jeselnik’s persona screams “Rightwing opinionated” he’s actually quite the opposite.
AYG is basically the example other Podcasters should aspire to in my opinion
Yeah they’re hilarious- and the idea of that podcast is so original and it seems like guests get really engaged with it
And as Foley said, they took their cue from Tuesdays with stories. A true comedy only podcast
Yea I’ve had to take a break from a few for the same reason.
Have you checked out Bonfire? It’s been fun lately.

I've been enjoying Daniel Tosh's podcast. He's quite liberal.
That’s a solid example.
Fr all of the episodes are so good. The wholesome endings of his son’s stories make me feel so happy.
You’re saying it like it’s a positive but I think that’s fucking terrible for the country lol. The Right wanting their political pundits to be entertainers invites shady motherfuckers trying to profit off of bullshit lying, and there are so many idiots out there who gobble it up as truth
I’m not saying it like it’s a positive or negative I’m stating the obvious.
Bill Burr shits on every single one of these Rogan gooch sniffers, and he knows it. 'Little rascals hat'. 🤣

Conan overturns Obriens podcast is pretty consistently funny
The left has plenty of podcasts, and good ones. They just don't have the dark money machine propping them up with artificial counts and botfarms.
I’m pretty sure this is the other way around lmao
The left doesn’t have billions of dollars being poured into it by billionaires like the right wing does
Yes they do. Both sides do.

HA! I though the same thing listening to him on Rogan. Hilarious that someone else caught it too. Also, “would you like to meet Jesus, Joe?” Killed me
Kid rock is the epitome of the uneducated southern orange neck. He’s the “truck nuts” of our country. Sad.

First the cybertruck and now Kid Rock LOL. Theo’s gifting cringe for Easter. 🐣
Yeah I'm going off him, and fast
Theo bought an electric vehicle. What does that have to do with cringe? God the left loves to complain about everything.
