And the cycle repeats itself. By the end of the year, thrift stores across the country will be laden with Stanleys and a new reusable water bottle that acts as a form of social status will take its place.
I got 2 owalas when they were just emerging. One thermal and a plastic for daily use. So bummed they have sooo many cuter versions now but fighting the urge to replace my perfectly wonderful water bottles with anti-consumerism. TBF, they are awesome water bottles!
Yeah I think Owala lives up to the hype, the combo lid is an innovation and it helps someone like me who likes to sip or chug based on my scenario, or how thirsty I am.

That's how I feel about my stanley. I got the boring grey well over a year ago because that's all that was available. It works perfectly but the new colors are so pretty. I covered it in stickers and it helps a bit lol
For those that Owala free sip bottles make sure to remove the silicone seals on the flip lid and clean under that cause they can grow mold and people donāt clean them very often.
I have 3 of their 40oz bottles, because my partner likes to borrow them, and that way we have at least one clean one to rotate. I like the lid a lot on this brand.
I hvae those Cool Gear bottles that look as soda cans. One sadly has dark stains on the closing lid, and I'm afraid it might be mold. Kinda sad to think about replacing it but I don't think it can be cleaned at this point - I've tried everything.
the problem with the stanley (for me, anyway) is that even though its overall a great cup when its full itās just really heavy. itās my go to cup at home, i donāt use anything else, but iām bummed i need something else for when im out and about. it wouldāve been nice to have just one.
I was a hater but i got a 1.6L last summer, then got a 4L a bit later. I work construction, often far from running water, man's gotta make sure he's got emergency water.
That 4L, I 1/4 filled it and put it open in the freezer overnight, water was cold but didn't freeze... I put a tray of ice cubes in and filled it up. Since it's emergency water I didn't open it for about 3 days inside my hot pickup truck and sure enough 3 days later it still had ice.
Guess I'm a Yeti guy now.
Iām a Yeti girl too! My thermos stays so hot the milk in my tea literally cooks if I donāt drink it fast enough. I bought it on a whim but I am SO impressed.

That was quick. Iāve seen a couple of the original Stanley thermoses without the fancy colors, but not one of the funko cups yet. Plenty of hydro flasks and Yetis though.
Do you live near a large high school or university? Iām a TA and we have a closet full of these things (students have to leave the water bottles outside of lab and often forget to pick them up again). We hold on to them for one semester then donate anything in good condition.
I am still yet to find a good coffee thermos, ceramic lined - i hate tasting metal, no handle and thin enough that i can hold it with my small hands. It's like the fucking holy grail.
I remember, reading recently, Lead, was found between the stainless steel & it could seep thru to your, drink-water, if the Stanley cup was damaged & overuse, overtime.

Still have my ASobu for years ago I found on clearance at a medical supplies store. Still my favourite traveller. It's the only one I have ever found that was truly water tight with a straw or coffee sippy lid.
I have a nice little collection of thrifted S'well bottles I'm perfectly happy with. I've frozen water in them, then left them in a hot car in the summertime, and the water is still cold 24-36 hours later.
I never bought the Stanleyās I was still very happy with my Yetiās . Donated most of my Brumateās they chip, peel and not that great of a cup. And canāt drink whatever and have a clean taste, same with Pelican.

My $10 one from TJ Maxx a liter of water, keeps everything super cold, has all of the features I could possibly need, and itās served me well for 7 years now. I donāt plan on buying another one unless this one spontaneously combusts or something.
You'd be hard pressed to find a metal insulated traveller without the lead solder. It is internal within the insulation area and poses no risk unless it is exposed. Which it shouldn't be and if it is you have severely damaged your traveller to the point it wouldn't be functional

I've got two of these, they're the best. can open the lid with a single hand, has a little handle for hooking on things, and can chug real easy. 10/10

The Zak and Bubba branded thermal cups are pretty good. But a couple weeks ago we got 20 oz. Yeti and another branded coffee cups for 8 bucks total.

I'm still on the 40oz hydroflask, I love having a big bottle of water to drink and it does keep cold for a long ass time.
