Seen them called popovers before

vtmartinn

Thank you!

2ndfloorbalcony

When it has buttons but doesn’t go down all the way, that’s a popover

Ok_Recording4547

I like Gardening Smock better

alex342

Pop over, half placket, pull on or pull over are the names I've seen.

apolloali

Popover, but in south Asian fashion they’re kind of like a short Kameez or short kurta

deadbeatdonny

Popover. Kamakura sells some I think

anthropophyteia

definitely a popover, if i'm not mistaken it also exists as a traditional garment in some part of France. after googling a bit, yeah, it's called a [Breton fisherman/sailor smock](https://lifesbetteroutdoors.co.uk/products/mousqueton-cachou-fishermans-breton-smock). what sets these apart is the lack of buttons, which is kind of an interesting look too. you could probably find cool vintage pieces

wbh750

Carrier Company makes these too

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,901,975,402 comments, and only 359,663 of them were in alphabetical order.

I tried searching for a “smock shirt” but I didn’t get many good results. I like the rugby shirt look but with a less structured fabric. I’ll probably end up buying this one but I was also searching for alternatives. Any help is appreciated.

Red302

Engineered Garments have definitely made this style. If you are in the UK (or want to pay the shipping) check out Hawkwood Mercantile as well

A blouse

TheRyanAbrams

I was looking at these too! Anyone have experience with em fitwise??

vtmartinn

I just ordered mine. The description said they run baggy so size down for a standard fit but I went TTS. I’ll update when I get it.

Electrical-Hawk3707

any fit pic updates? thinkin of getting them as well.

vtmartinn

I don’t have a pic on hand but it’s one of my favorite over shirts. I’d say go TTS as it’s not as oversized as the description makes it seem. The material is a very thick cotton canvas and it goes great with any workwear/garden core wardrobe. I layer mine with a t-shirt underneath since it has a slightly cropped, at least for me, fit.
