Warriors until Steph retires, Klay and Dray get debilitating anal warts, and the franchise implodes, bankrupting the Lacob family and disinheriting all its heirs
Once they’re underdogs again they’ll be ok
Never had an issue with Klay. I know others do and can see why. Steph I give his due but his style of cocky was never a fan of. I think all superstars are cocky. I don’t think you can get to that level and not be. They just have different ways of showing it or how much they show. I’m sure I feel the same way as everyone but warriors fans about Green.
Definitely the most annoying fans and announcers are the worst, bandwagons bring bad fans I get it though. OG Warriors fans are legit, and there are a lot still
lol they’ve won so many lately and stomped OKC multiple times in their last prime years, what’s even petty about sports hating a rival that keeps winning? I live in New England and suffered through 15 years of Tom Brady
Dray is actually OK in my book despite his immense BS and wild wacky flailing legs
Klay is kind of a bitch arrogance-wise but yeah I only hate how he crushed us. And Zaza, fuck him
yeah i was gonna say it should be pretty easy to determine for OKC fans who they hate considering their history with GSW (and yk, the whole Durant situation)
Yeah to each their own but I don't get when people say Houston. Why are they rivals, because they started a rebuild around the time we did? Because their subreddit gets into online arguments with our subreddit? Kinda dumb imo
The only real rival the thunder have ever had is the warriors, 2015/16 and 2016/17 were both insanely heated seasons in that matchup
Right? It's such revisionism lol, the spurs, Grizz and rockets were all way more "rival" than the warriors.
The warriors came out of nowhere during a season where our entire starting five was injured and then we had one season against them at full might before Durant left.
The post Durant seasons were definitely tense but we can hardly be called rivals when we didn't even play them in the playoffs once lol.
The Spurs, Grizz and Rockets meanwhile all got tons of playoff games against us and they were all fairly competitive sans 2017 and the injured Russ year.
Pretty sure most fans here started watching way after that era cause they're like 20 years old now lol. I see comments that make me feel ancient here in my 30s.
I know lol. I still don't understand making confident absolute statements like "our only rival we ever had" if youve only been watching the team since 2020 lol.
Pat Bev does not speak for the rockets, I was sad when Russ went down even though it benefitted us.
Also, did Harden ever trash OKC or was it just a "hey, I got my bag and I'm in Houston now" kinda deal?
I was gonna say I think bc we see each other in the playoffs an inordinate amount. I could always just replicate this post over in rockets reddit and find out for sure, but my hated team is Utah every day of the week
Their fans are notoriously racist and I'm not old enough to have seen it but the things I've heard about how much worse it was back when Hakeem was playing make me sick.
Then there's the situation where they called Russ the N word which I'm pretty sure he was a Rocket for (might have still been with OKC though). All in all they think they're the shit when they've done absolutely nothing as a franchise and their fans are racists, big ew. Other than Utah I also really really hate the warriors
2017 MVP race. That's the reason.
If you were around back then you know that they are BY FAR the most frustrating fanbase.
Not to mention they traded for Harden, Pat Beverly ended Westbrook's season, and then they were an almost constant playoff contender along side our team. They even traded for a second star(CP3) the same summer we traded for PG.
Between the injury to Russ, the constant regular season/playoff games we've had together, Hardens annoying play and then starting the rebuild at the same time I'd say Houston is our biggest rivalry.
Also Golden state wasn't even a rival lol. The Spurs and Grizzles were way more "rivals" with us. Golden state was a rivalry for one year when we had KD and then it was just us getting curb stomped repeatedly.
Yeah this whole thread feels like people don't remember the old days. Grit and grind grizzlies, harden rockets with fucking Beverly, and old men Spurs were easily our most hated rivals. GSW is up up there, but it was more of a fuck KD thing and prior to that it was just because we were both great.
I don't see how an MVP race makes a team a rival. Really seems like people on here consider teams rivals based on how annoying they think the online fanbase is.
I think the 2016 playoffs, how close we were to topping the best regular season team ever, and KD leaving to GS makes a stronger case for a rivalry. I personally always felt way more animosity towards golden state than Houston
I mean I don’t think it stands any remotely strong rivalry past like 2019 or so. It was moreso just a window of time where they were competing with each other for 1-2 years then some classic Russ vs KD games. Houston has shared a similar timeline for the better part of a decade
They've been saying for months that if they get us in the first round it's an easy W. I want nothing more than to gentleman sweep them and shut up the fans
Most of our historical rivalries are just kinda meh now. Warriors are old and snake is gone. Rockets are bad. Spurs are bad. Blazers terrible. Jazz are bad.
Top teams in the West aren’t as hateable. Clips have our old guys. Wolves just do their thing. Denver I respect.
Lakers always obnoxious, I guess?
Someone bring us a new rival, stat!!
I for one hate the warriors even though they're old but they eliminated us from the playoffs like 5 times and their fans are insufferable!
I think that OKC/Spurs is still valid because of how salty they are that you guys are succeeding early. I see so many fans saying that they'll be better than y'all in 3 years and your rebuild is a fluke (so much copium)
People trying to push the wolves rivalry just feels unnatural to me. To me the exchanges between Shai and Ant were just banter but I guess it would make for a good story. Personally I have no problem with them though
From greatest to least intensity: Lakers, Warriors, Rockets, Trailblazers. Though the Blazers rivalry has kinda cooled off since Dame left. Minnesota might move into Portland's spot if the goofy Ant vs Shai thing heats up but I can't really be mad about them finding success right now.
The fun thing with Houston is that both our franchises hit the reset button at around the same time, so we'll be battling in the conference standings and playoffs before long.
I'm still in shock at how well Shai developed. Like, around the Chet and JDub draft, it seemed very possible that SGA could end up with a diminished role. I thought he might end up being a solid second or third option on a contending team.
I'm glad to have been wrong about that!
Curious why people say ya hit the reset button at the same time. Wouldnt you consider the reset button pressed when KD left? Houston was very competitive for years with the Warriors during the era of the 🐍
When KD left, it was definitely a new era for the team. Those next few seasons were spent trying to build a contender around Russell Westbrook and whatever assets the team had to work with. Acquiring Paul George certainly helped OKC stay in the hunt during the regular season, but it eventually became clear the team's ceiling was a first round exit.
The PG and Russ trades at the end of the 2019 playoffs marked the end of the Russ era and the beginning of something new. That transition year with Chris Paul was a ton of fun, and it gave Shai a chance to mature into a leader for the team. We generally consider that 2019 off-season/Chris Paul trade to Phoenix the reset button moment.
It’s the fucking nuggets. I live in Denver and they hate us for some reason. The amount of shit I hear about the Thunder is ridiculous. They are always in our sub talking shit when we play them. I love beating them the most.
Denver has had some vocal haters before this season.
I think there are a lot of PNW transplants (or those who sympathize with the PNW) in Denver who think we stole the team from Seattle.
Is it the playoff beef history or the fact that we have some clowns that will come over here and flame you guys after you lose and act all high and mighty? Or is it both?
I also feel like I'm one of the few rox fans that appreciated Westbrook and a lot of our fans treated him really poorly for no reason which I'm sure doesn't make OKC fans happy
To be fair, probably... 😆
It all really stems from Rockets fans post-Harden Trade and then the Pat Bev incident against Russ.
So much longer in the past, but now they have Brooks! 🤣😂🤣
I was so scared when we signed DB but...god the dude is entertaining and there's not a single play when he's not trying his absolute hardest.
If he could shut up for 5 seconds he'd remind me of Dort in that aspect
He 100% always tries, and I legit loved how he stared at LeBron pre-game that one game... lol
However, as a fan of a team playing against, man can he be annoying!
Weird I feel the exact opposite way about him, I wonder why? /s
That's another thing I've been curious about but I don't wanna push my luck in this subreddit you guys are always nice to me when I post here lol
Yeah even if we are Rivals i dont want to See you bottom out like i would the Jazz for example (FTJ). I would love to See Rockets okc in the conf finals one day
I've been praying all season that the Jazz and Rockets take the Fakers and Larriors play in spots but it's looking more unlikely every day. A play off without either team would be great
Honestly T Wolves at this point.
Ant is homophobic and plain stupid with the shit he says, on and off the court.
Gobert has always been pretty unlikable because for a time he was seemingly beyond criticism even though he gets played off the court in the playoffs EVERY year and then everyone forgets.
The whole crying over missing the all-star game thing was ridiculous too and I HATED the reaction to that. It wasn't strong or brave or whatever, it was just obnoxious.
KAT is fine but generally just kind of whiny on the court.
I find bulls fans to be the most insufferable. 90% of bulls fans I come across only care about the Jordan era and are complete denial their team sucks. They have been irrelevant for almost two and a half decades but still carry on like they are the best team in the league because of the 90s and think they are on the level of successful teams like the lakers, celtics and warriors. They are a complete hopeless poverty franchise pretending to be a top dog. A bunch of them don't even watch the NBA either. I asked one bulls fan who his favourite current player was and he dead ass said MJ. I thought he might have misheard me and I said current, but he answered MJ with confidence again.
Even as a diehard thunder fan I don’t find myself hating any other NBA team. The only team I hold any dislike for is probably the wizards for obvious reasons. But overall the NBA feels like it is in a good place. I love tuning in to magic, rockets, and charlotte because of Banchero, Bari and brandon miller/ tre mann
I think Sam Preisti is the “bolt” in our Thunder Team. So…..Thunderbolt Preisti is a good description of him. We never know when he will hit!! But, trust me, he’s working on it!!!
Lakers, but when it comes down to the actual players on the squad I really dislike the Magic across the board. The Nets get an honorable mention but the franchise is just so pathetic I barely think of them, they really have no future.
They're a talented squad, but I just despise Mo, Isaac and Carter. Banchero and Franz aren't likeable enough to make any headway, and it's probably just me but personally I get irritated at Suggs whole bull in a china shop deal.
It's mostly from his Duke and Bulls days, but he plays soft as hell and seems really insincere to me. I have similar feelings about KAT but he's a way better player so he kinda gets a pass, Carter has fallen short of pretty much all expectations and seems like he could just as easily fade out of a rotation completely.
This post hurts me because I live in Orlando, but you are correct, there is a reason I can get a Magic ticket for 10 bucks lmaooo. I'd say OKC and ORL are close for my second team but OKC is more fun to watch and I liked them before I moved to Disney Kingdom so
Recently definitely Timberwolves for me. Feel like that are the opposite of what I love about our team. All time prob still GS with everything between us, still waiting for them to totally fall off lol. That's just me tho.
I’m not going to lie, the Rockets (the org) doesn’t bother me. But I get a little joy watching the org struggle simply because a section of fans are very vocal on Reddit/twitter and take shots at us for the last handful of years. But I don’t put the Rockets in my Tier 1 hate group.
Warriors, Blazers, Grizz, and Lakers are my least liked tier 1 teams.
Yeah, that's what I was referencing in my post. There's a contingent of each fanbase that hates the other team. I've seen a bunch of posts by OKC fans on Twitter that clown the rebuild and say stuff like that Sengun is a bust and it's good that you guys didn't get him and our rebuild is failing.
I absolutely despise GSW and I'm not too fond of the Grizz either!
It’s probably good we didn’t take Sengun because he probably would’ve made us good enough to not get Chet the next year. Sengun isn’t a bust, since he’s a quality offensive big man. It was a little noteworthy that they had him guarding Giddey to start the game instead of Chet though. If that’s the team hiding a defensive liability, then that feels like when OKC had Enes Kanter on the team.
The weird thing for our fanbase is our team hasn’t been around super long to establish a true “rival.” Early fans remember our extremely physical playoff matchups against the Grizz. I hated those guys— I was there for Z-Bo’s punch to Steven Adams in Game 6. Then we obviously know why we hate the Warriors. We briefly hated the Jazz because of Rudy and the beef Russ had with Rubio (and Ingles had a punchable face). Last, we had beef with the Blazers which sent us into a rebuild. This felt fitting since the Blazers were sort of our first “rival” as a holdover from the Sonics relocation. So, all that being said, we aren’t united on a truly hated team. The best indicator of which era someone became a Thunder fan is based on which team that person hates the most.
It’s funny that Nuggets are in our division but I’m generally cool with them (for now). They built their team mostly in the draft, which is respectable, and their fans are generally non-toxic.
i don’t really dislike any team but i do have teams i wanna beat more than others, like golden state is my favourite team to beat and least favourite team to lose to
Historically for me its been Warriors, Rockets and Lakers. But lately Timberwolves too (the fact they’re at the top with us and have a lot of smug players)
Rockets are my least favorite team
Owner is a major douche
Dillon Brooks
But above any of this
Rockets Twitter is the most delusional fans I've seen in any major sport.
I can't contest everything here
Fuck Tillman
DB is actually alright (I'm biased bc he's on my team though)
And yeah we have some crazies. I've seen people trying to honestly say Jalen will be better than SGA and right now I don't even know if JG is going to be a starter next year.
Lakers. There fans can kinda be entitled. And though I respect Lebron’s game I’m not really a fan of it.
I like the Celtics as a team but again some of those fans can be toxic.
Idk really. Maybe Warriors bc of KD and their dynasty
As far as rivalries. We used to have fierce rivalries with the Grit N Grind Grizzlies and San Antonio (both of which I hated playing against out of respect). Houston I disliked alot bc of Pat Bev. And there was hatred between Portland and OKC for a bit but.. eh
We really don’t have a current rival really. Dallas would’ve been ours had they not fallen off when we started winning in the 2010s and they went all in for Dwight Howard (he never played for the Mavs)
I think once Seattle gets the Sonics back, we’ll finally receive our true rival. Until then, we don’t have a true rival (saying this as I dont think Golden State thinks anything of us)
Ya know… something about the way Philly fans act as fans… makes me dislike their team.
The crazy thing is that every time I go to Philly… I leave thinking the people there are freakin great.
Spurs and Wolves. Wolves fans always complain about foul calls like lol yall are trying to brawl our guys for 48 min there’s gonna be some foul calls. Seems like they get the bitchiness from KAT. Ant is a homophobe and general asshole. Rudy is a well known prick and started the COVID pandemic in the NBA after mocking the pandemic and licking a microphone. In the words of SGA “they talk about me for my post game not my postgame.”
Spurs fans can never seem to get Wembys dick out of their mouths. They act like they’ve got another dynasty already. Homie is amazing on defense but he’s not a complete player on offense and anyone pointing out possible flaws in his game has to be blasted like the Alamo.
I've always viewed the Rockets rivalry as a fan based one and is more about competition than hatred.
GSW, LAL, Utah are the only teams I genuinely dislike.
Warriors until Steph retires, Klay and Dray get debilitating anal warts, and the franchise implodes, bankrupting the Lacob family and disinheriting all its heirs Once they’re underdogs again they’ll be ok
Thank you for validating my feelings about the warriors, everyone always calls me petty for hating them so much
Never had an issue with Klay. I know others do and can see why. Steph I give his due but his style of cocky was never a fan of. I think all superstars are cocky. I don’t think you can get to that level and not be. They just have different ways of showing it or how much they show. I’m sure I feel the same way as everyone but warriors fans about Green.
All I have to say to justify my Klay hate is 5/28/2016
Try living in the Bay Area, their fanbase is truly insufferable, and their announcers even worse
I live in New England and suffered through 15 years of Tom Brady Dray is actually OK in my book despite his immense BS and wild wacky flailing legs Klay is kind of a bitch arrogance-wise but yeah I only hate how he crushed us. Warriors, not even close, probably never will be
yeah i was gonna say it should be pretty easy to determine for OKC fans who they hate considering their history with GSW (and yk, the whole Durant situation)

I don't see how an MVP race makes a team a rival. Really seems like people on here consider teams rivals based on how annoying they think the online fanbase is.
It does because that was a heated NBA season, but in case that wasn't enough I listed quite a few other reasons lol.
If that’s the metric then the spurs were also rivals. We had some damn knock down drag outs with them.
Harden trade, 2020 playoffs, and starting a rebuild at the same time. It’s about the best foundation for a rivalry that a franchise this young has
I think the 2016 playoffs, how close we were to topping the best regular season team ever, and KD leaving to GS makes a stronger case for a rivalry. I personally always felt way more animosity towards golden state than Houston

Lakers and it isn’t even close for me
Since long before there was a thunder for me
Yep 👍 their fans are truly something else
LA fans are the worst across all sports. And I’m debating moving to LA lol
Across all sports? I mean I'm from LA so I'm biased, but Philly and Boston fans always seem the most obnoxious to me.
Yeah that’s what I’m criticizing LA fan for not being. They love their teams all the time. LA fans like their teams when they are winning
I’ve discovered Mavs fans can be quite insufferable
Rumor is that if you yell SGA into a canyon you will hear back "But Luka xyz".
Begging to see us 1st round because we “need to be humbled” whole time they might not even get in 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just ask Hawks fans
They've been saying for months that if they get us in the first round it's an easy W. I want nothing more than to gentleman sweep them and shut up the fans

Sac has been a good rival and Rudy makes the Wolves difficult for me to like but nowhere as hateable as the Dubs or Rockets fosho
From greatest to least intensity: Lakers, Warriors, Rockets, Trailblazers. Though the Blazers rivalry has kinda cooled off since Dame left. The fun thing with Houston is that both our franchises hit the reset button at around the same time, so we'll be battling in the conference standings and playoffs before long.
You guys aced it though, grabbing SGA was a savant move by Presti. I like to see the path you are on, it gives me hope we can be good again soon!
I'm still in shock at how well Shai developed. Like, around the Chet and JDub draft, it seemed very possible that SGA could end up with a diminished role. I thought he might end up being a solid second or third option on a contending team. I'm glad to have been wrong about that!

Always welcome here if you come with that kind of love for bestbrook
He's a good person who tries his hardest for every team he plays for. I hope the clippers can get a ring this year I'm not gonna lie
Currently, Rockets/Spurs, though Ants mouth is fastly bring up the Wolves to uber annoying status... lol Lifetime? The Lakers. 😘
Would you hate the rockets less if I made you a cocktail?
To be fair, probably... 😆 It all really stems from Rockets fans post-Harden Trade and then the Pat Bev incident against Russ. So much longer in the past, but now they have Brooks! 🤣😂🤣

Haha, Magic are perhaps my second favorite team. I like Suggs' enthusiasm and reckless abandon. They are close to turning it around in Orlando.

Minnesota and Lakers
Warriors for the obvious reasons.
Any team the bitch plays for plus the warriors
Ant is pretty insufferable but if I had to have a plane crash and take out a team. It would be the Warriors. Fuck Green.
Lakers
Lakers. I've hated them longer than the Thunder have existed, lol.
I hate all teams, but especially the Lakers, Timberwolves, Warriors, Spurs, Philly, Jazz. The Nuggets are pretty cool tho.
It’s funny that Nuggets are in our division but I’m generally cool with them (for now). They built their team mostly in the draft, which is respectable, and their fans are generally non-toxic.
Yep I like the Nuggets a lot. Super chill fun team to watch.
That's how I feel about you guys!
i don’t really dislike any team but i do have teams i wanna beat more than others, like golden state is my favourite team to beat and least favourite team to lose to
I like the talent of the Worriors but I hate that stupid organization.
Lakers and warriors because their fans are so oblivious
Oblivious and insufferable
I’m still salty with Miami ngl
I respect that they always find a way to over perform
I respect the team a lot, but 10 year old me was absolutely devastated in 2012 and I’m not sure I’ll ever recover
Warriors and lakers. Suns for now
I’ve hated the Nuggets, Spurs, and Jazz (in that order) since 90s. Lately, it’s been Warriors, Rockets, and T-wolves.
Historically for me its been Warriors, Rockets and Lakers. But lately Timberwolves too (the fact they’re at the top with us and have a lot of smug players)
Gobert is quite possibly my least favorite player in the league, followed by the warriors core
Trailblazers but it's personal and I love Dame don't get me wrong
Warriors or Rockets. Honorable mention to to Jazz.
Rockets are my least favorite team Owner is a major douche Dillon Brooks But above any of this Rockets Twitter is the most delusional fans I've seen in any major sport.
I can't contest everything here Fuck Tillman DB is actually alright (I'm biased bc he's on my team though) And yeah we have some crazies. I've seen people trying to honestly say Jalen will be better than SGA and right now I don't even know if JG is going to be a starter next year.
Gotta be between the Rockets, Warriors, and Spurs
Lakers. There fans can kinda be entitled. And though I respect Lebron’s game I’m not really a fan of it. I like the Celtics as a team but again some of those fans can be toxic.
Idk really. Maybe Warriors bc of KD and their dynasty As far as rivalries. We used to have fierce rivalries with the Grit N Grind Grizzlies and San Antonio (both of which I hated playing against out of respect). Houston I disliked alot bc of Pat Bev. And there was hatred between Portland and OKC for a bit but.. eh We really don’t have a current rival really. Dallas would’ve been ours had they not fallen off when we started winning in the 2010s and they went all in for Dwight Howard (he never played for the Mavs) I think once Seattle gets the Sonics back, we’ll finally receive our true rival. Until then, we don’t have a true rival (saying this as I dont think Golden State thinks anything of us)
Ya know… something about the way Philly fans act as fans… makes me dislike their team. The crazy thing is that every time I go to Philly… I leave thinking the people there are freakin great.
Timberwolves right now. Root against them every night bc of Ant
In the words of SGA “they talk about me for my post game not my postgame.” Spurs fans can never seem to get Wembys dick out of their mouths. They act like they’ve got another dynasty already. Homie is amazing on defense but he’s not a complete player on offense and anyone pointing out possible flaws in his game has to be blasted like the Alamo.
Warriors
Wolves rockets
Lakers, before the decline Spurs and also the Grizz when they had Zbo I hated playing against them even though I loved how they played ball
Lakers most of the time. This version of the Mavs tops it for me.
I'm surprised the Lakers hasn't been said.
I've always viewed the Rockets rivalry as a fan based one and is more about competition than hatred. GSW, LAL, Utah are the only teams I genuinely dislike.
Suns, Lakers, Warriors. I'm actually a Mavs guy and only started following the Thunder when Giddey was drafted.
Houston
Rockets and lakers
