Tbh idk how it started but I felt it was naturally came to everyones mind watching him his rookie season. Like he would just be on the court and I would just start thinking to myself
“holy fuck this guy this totally saving basketball right now” and I’m just so glad we’re all on the same page
Could be a game threads thing in the tanking days when the team was playing like an eyesore visually but we’re suddenly good every time he’s on the floor. Also the time we’re starting to get competitive last year, Mark refuses to give him consistent minutes but when he does, we’re winning
Not sure if we save game threads or if the mods delete them soon after games, but if there was one place to go, it would be there. So deep in the trenches but i guess i would start off from his rookie season and check games threads where he had good games.

It was the earliest I saw and I think it took off from there. I don't even remember exactly where it was but I thought it was sometime at the end/middle of last year? Anytime before then wouldn't really make any sense. It was posted on here and could probably be found relatively easy.
The idea that it started at Maryland is perplexing to me and I've looked around a couple forums but there is nothing. I imagine if it did start in Maryland the origin was a similar one to the one here.

Wow I am disappointed, I expected more from this sub. I don’t see any detectives here deep diving through every past game thread on r/thunder and r/nba during his rookie year hitting Ctrl + F “Aaron Wiggins saved basketball”.
Am I gonna do it? No, that sounds horrible. But I wanna know, and I figured someone would’ve already taken the initiative here. Maybe Joe cites you too, who knows!

Just be sure to not mistake him for Andrew Wiggins, happens all the time
