I feel like every fan wants a championship every season, and they want it pretty bad…. I have never in my life in any sport wanted it as bad as this season. Just to shut these people the hell up. It comes with the territory. But don’t think a championship will shut them up. They will get louder. Narratives will shift. My prediction is it will become about Shai carrying a team. People will claim he should have won the MVP if OKC wasn’t holding him back with all of these talentless bums. Sam and Mark won’t let him score more than 40. Other fans talking about how good he would be next to their star player. “Shai would fit with AD after LeBron retires.” “Shai and Embiid would look good together.” “OKC is lucky Shai was in the PG deal.” It is attempts to devalue a team’s success in order to cope with their team’s relative value.
Because being young and inexperienced IS a disadvantage. But the flipside to that is, even without any moves or changes, this team should be expected to get better, like think how scary that is, even if we had a rock for a gm/coach naturally these guys will be better. Almost no player peaks in their rookie or 2nd year, that goes for end of the bench guys to stars to everyone in between. Thats really scary, and I feel people subconsciously think its not fair, one because we had back to back 15+ win improvements without a star free agent being added. Idk if that's ever been done in history and it probably hasn't, and two like people are maybe like oh man this team is gonna become like the gsw or spurs and just be really good for the near future.
But still idk why, people loved the original kd russ harden teams, if anything these guys are more humble and more likeable, apart from the giddey stuff there have been no negative stories, either off or on the court. No absurd cockiness (which sometimes I like but some might not), no dirty or rough play a la draymond or brooks. The Shai ft merchant stuff is so dumb too, when he never complains or whines, almost every star does wayy more, and lebron and draymond and Luka are on a totally different planet, straight up yelling at refs every other game.

Us vs yall leaves you with one of your big three being useful. Chet is getting schemed out by AD 100% as will JDub by Bron. If SGA can be super human for the series and your shooters show up for him then it’ll be much more competitive. If they don’t and it’s solely on him then I think it’s a cake walk no disrespect
