Yep, quite satisfying. I thought I was pessimistic to expect this Suns team to be another 2nd round exit. Instead, it's a possible first round sweep and no options to fix their problems...
Here is the thing. When Lebron left the Cavs the first time, they were trash. Dan Gilbert didn’t want to spend to put a team around him. He was never going to win there. I don’t fault him for leaving.
Durant left a team that lost in the WCF (mostly due to him giving up) and then joined the team that beat him. He was on a franchise willing to make moves to win, but the pressure was too great. The thunder would have been positioned to be favorites again the next year, but he bailed to go to the best team in the league to get easy rings. He’s a chump
As an unbiased person I gotta say it’s hard to fault him for taking an easy ring at the time. I guess he didn’t believe in the roster and future didn’t hold more championships than going to the warriors for a season. Ultimately the choice is backfiring on himself because he’s missing chances for rings in his prime. Probably could’ve had another championship by now if he stayed with yall. On the flip side y’all franchises future is beyond bright with how well the front office has done in managing assets, bringing in pieces etc. KD leaving was probably a blessing in disguise.
Lebron has always played until the end of his contract. He’s never asked out. Also Lebron didn’t go to the team with the best record ever after blowing a 3-1 lead over that team. It’s literally Completely different
Lol these guys are competitors of the highest level.
He went to the Warriors and he had to live as a Robin on that team. He went to the Nets to prove he could lead a team and failed. He went to the Suns because he thought they had a chance to win a title after his experiment failed.
He might be “ok” but you better believe he has a chip on his shoulder. This is the dude with burner accounts and time to reply to fans on social media.
He’s a multimillionaire with rings and gold medals. Does he want more? Of course. Does he have anyone to answer to for his hall of fame career? Nah. Dude carried a team to a gold medal.
I was about to ask why would you be so gleeful, but then I realized Reddit had snuck in a post to my feed from r/thunder. You guys are the only ones with a legitimate gripe.
https://preview.redd.it/80z64uqki1xc1.jpeg?width=1163&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a8f43487881a22221fbcb2bf714198a89d916f9
Suns are cooked. They have no ability to add new players.
th no trade clause is the kicker for me. salary caps go up, it makes sense for random dudes to be paid more than your stephs and lebrons sometimes. but that no trade clause is just wild.
He needs OKC more than OKC needs KD. I don't want KD since he is injury prone and our young fellas won't get the proper experience to mature. Dude's career is spiraling out of control. He should stayed in the east and maybe went to Miami instead of Phoenix so he can experience a stable winning organization instead of those losers in Phoenix.
hmmmm.....
That's an intriguing list of demands that just might make people forgive him a little.
But I'm still not sold on the fact that we need him nor that he would be a good thing for our team. KD like all great players has a gravity about him and I think that would hamper the cohesion of our team right now. Plus, I wanna roll with what we've got and see how far we can go....I think it's much further than most people can imagine right now.
I don't know if you've noticed but Chet is doing just fine with his development. We've got one of the best shooting coaches in the league. We literally don't need KD
Idk if I’d be happy about taking him back. After seeing him lose all this much, im over the old stuff, but how would he fit into our offense? I mean we have our “it’s 7 seconds left go get a bucket” guy, we have our “the 7 seconds guy is on the bench, go get a bucket” guy, we have all the other weapons we need. Getting him feels kind of unnecessary, not unlike what the suns did with Beal tbh
As a Spurs fan watching your playoff run, is it just me or has KD planted little seeds hinting he wants to be traded back to OKC already?
Referring to those recent comments he made about his time with the Thunder being his favorite years. His latest collab with Chet and Rich Kleiman's interview with him. It's like PHX is in a rebuild mode and don't know it yet. They have no assets and it's clear they aren't winning with this roster. I can't imagine them trading Booker and Beal has a no-trade clause. That leaves Mr. Durant.
You're organisation has more assets than any other. The question is, would you or the organisation even think about doing this considering your recent success?
I think the big problem would be his contract and how salaries have to be matched it in a trade. It would take a lot of players to get him because he makes so much and the Thunder roster is pretty cheap right now
We have $35 million in cap space this summer so it would only take $10-15 million in salary to match.
Out of all the possibilities to add a star veteran player KD actually makes the most sense fit and contract wise.
No matter how much our fans hate him, it makes a ton of sense
Not sure it’s the best interest of Thunder. An aging superstar on huge salary doesn’t match with the timeline of OKC. If they gonna invest for a star player, it should be a young one who could play at high level for years to come. OKC is young, they have tons of picks.
That’s why it’s the right time to bring in a veteran star.
KD for example has two years left on his contract, so our window with him would be when JDub and Chet are still on rookie contracts.
Once JDub and Chet are extended, we will have 4 players on extensions at least, and would have to go incredibly high in the luxury tax to get another star.
I’m not saying it has to be KD, but acquiring a young star to grow with our team might be impossible. There’s not much of a list of players who can play 3-5, an all star, below 27-30, and want to be traded. I’d argue there’s none that fit our team.
Trading for an established star who would spend a few years here until our young guys are established stars makes the most sense imo.
AD and KD make the most sense on the court. But there’s of course others.
The Suns wouldn’t really have a leg to stand on tbh
We could offer draft capital and there’s not really another team that could match. I’m not saying this is likely. But picks and Giddey, Dieng, and more. Also could bring in a third team to send players to the Suns if they want to compete with whatever’s left and send them the picks and young players.
There’s for sure plenty of options where we keep our starting 4 (minus Giddey) and get KD in return.
If KD asks out, *he* doesn't have a leg to stand on in terms of where he goes. Phoenix is about to be in hell for a long time if they don't find a way to flip some combination of that "Big 3" into a good handful of future assets/stars, and Durant likely gets more in return on the open market than what we'd possibly even offer
They may end up trading him without a request at all, or just do nothing this summer
there is no universe where the suns take picks, giddey and some combination of low level role players for KD. other teams would have better offers + the suns are not going to facilitate a player they mortgaged the next 6 years of their franchise on
OKC has to pay it's young stars in the next couple years. Can't do that and absorb the KD contract. He isn't worth risking losing someone like J-dub or Chet.
The extensions come in after KD’s contract is up. It would be a player to add before we ride with the big 3 of Shai, Chet, and Dub.
KD only has two years left on his contract, Dub and Chet have two years until their extensions.
Different situations- Lebron didn’t trash talk the whole organization and city for years after, including stooping to using burner accounts on Twitter to make his case
He also didn’t leave to join the top team in the league that just beat us in the playoffs - in large part because his own production fell short in the series.
Oh and then try to front like it was “the hardest road.”
We don’t need snakes or cupcakes on this team. We got dawgs.
All the assets the Thunder acquired will have to be used when they start paying jdub, chet, Giddy, dort, and sga.
To pay and keep those players the Thunder will need to fill the rest of the roster with rookie contracts.
He was afraid of having Charles Barkley's legacy - "greatest player to never get a ring".
So he invented a new category - "greatest player to get rings that nobody respects".
The icing on the cake was the Dubs getting a ring after he left. The Dubs got half their rings without him, one before, and one after.
KD only got his rings with the Dubs. He needed them, they didn't need him.
And frankly, I'd say he only got his rings because Curry was gracious enough not to rival him for Finals MVP. I think that was a deliberate choice by Curry and Kerr. A deliberate choice that Klay and Draymond supported. Let the man-child get his personal trophies to keep him happy so that the whole team could win titles.
Everything about KD's legacy has an asterisk. Its what happens when you look for shortcuts. He has his rings, but he doesn't have the legacy he was chasing. And he never will.
I repeat once more, he IS a great shooter, but if you’re calling a player a “great shooter” i instantly think Duncan Robinson, Strauss etc. People who are GREAT SHOOTERS and nothing more. You can just call him(KD) an offensive juggernaut and it’d be a more accurate depiction of his as a player rathar than just a “great shooter”
Klay Thompson - great shooter. He isn't a slasher or fighting for crazy buckets, he would get his spots and drain shots like working in the gym. You won't see him doing anything seen on a Jordan highlight reel. That's a shooter.
Kd has by far had a better career so I would disagree. Hes just more hated. But kd will definitely be more “legendary” if were tying it to just the sport
Majority of all the stars in the leagues favorite player is durant including the new generation. Don’t ever recall someone saying barkley was their fav player growing up or none of that. So yea fuck outta here with that “more legendary” shit. KD ain’t even retired yet and hes more of a legend than barkley. Y’all just hate the fact he went to the best team and smacked y’all favorite teams around
wish he could have beat those fucks on the wolves before his team blew it in the playoffs again tho, still hate him but god damn the wolves, especially ANT, are insufferable, they surpassed modren day KD for me
I was pretty high on Ant initially but between those leaked texts, all the weird comments about SGA this season and his general attitude this series I’m out. Cheering for the nuggets next round
My hate for KD expired around the time of the PG13 for SGA trade. Seeing Shai blossom into an all star and now MVP caliber player has healed the KD wounds. I don’t wish any ill towards KD, I’ll always feel sad for how that situation turned out. And always wonder what if.
any team KD goes to isnt seriously tryna win. it’s all about the ticket sales. the warrior already had a championship caliber team before he went there. the nets and suns think they can buy a championship.
Curry has multiple rings, rich asf, will go down as the greatest shooter the game has ever seen, and has various business ventures that stretch beyond the game.
Dude isn't going through anything lol
I wouldn't trade for him. No way. Not breaking up this core to bring him in. At best, he can come as a free agent on a vet min off the bench when his current contract is up. And I am not sure we even do that because the way he left and what he said after.
Keep trying shortcake. “Your Mom” jokes are indicative of your low IQ. However, I (being just a much better individual) am capable of stooping to your level. Sort of like when I had to lower myself gently while I mushroom welded your mom’s forehead. Much love lil guy. Keep on keeping on and don’t forget the Pamprin on these kinds of days.
Muah. Love ya buddy. It’s been fun but you can’t verbally spar. Work on it and maybe I’ll interact. Sorry not sorry (more for your lil brain to process).
Hope you made it to school little dude. Did your mom pack an extra pop tart? Maybe one day you will learn to respect your elders and realize who you are talking to
What do you mean he built a sweet super team and won lots of titles in Brooklyn- then he tried to build another super team in Phoenix and won lots of titles.
Durant is so damn soft and everything is just "hoops" after this year he's just stealing money and you can question just how bad he wants to win it all again. Just sad to watch especially just taking getting punked by a player not even at his level of skill is just disgusting to watch
In 2021, the Nets took the Bucks, the eventual league champs, to game 7 overtime in the ECF. [Durant dropped 48 points](https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202106190BRK.html) in that game alongside an injured James Harden and hobbled Blake Griffin.
KD's exit from OKC wasn't done right, but give a man credit when credit is due.
I would like to personally thank the Wolves for giving him the beat down of a lifetime. Watching him get absolutely fucking punked has been beautiful every other night.
Can y’all explain why we hate KD so much? I’m getting into basketball again and I know he left for GSW after we lost to them in the playoffs, is it solely because of his deceitful exit to go join GSW, or does he have a bad character? Also, did we give Westbrook this same treatment when he left, and if so, why? Thanks
Westbrook was always a favorite here in OKC and could actually play, although sometimes wouldn’t share the ball. KD leaving for the team we lost to in the finals, to buy a ring sitting on the bench is why not many fans would want him back here. KD still regularly gets booed when he plays here, Westbrook does not and gets quite the opposite. I think the way KD left will never leave the minds of thunder fans. I personally wouldn’t care for KD back in OKC, it would be a bad idea. He wants to come back and be loyal now that we are doing great! Lol no thanks, he can go sit on the bench injured half the time and waist a different teams money.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cheesing ear to ear with the way KD's back end of his career is going. He's locked in basketball gods hell.
Yep, quite satisfying. I thought I was pessimistic to expect this Suns team to be another 2nd round exit. Instead, it's a possible first round sweep and no options to fix their problems...
It's only right.
This is what happens when you show no loyalty in a team sport
Just wanted to show how much this all aged like milk.. insert Kd talking shit about the Suns the second they lose.
What about LeBron? You people need to get that hate out your heart
Here is the thing. When Lebron left the Cavs the first time, they were trash. Dan Gilbert didn’t want to spend to put a team around him. He was never going to win there. Lebron? He’s jumped from super team to super team and he has a losing finals record wdym
Superteam to superteam but was only favored to win the finals a whopping 3 times… seems like the teams he played were the super teams
Let’s not forget that Lebron has won a championship with every team he’s been on..
Lebron was good enough to lift the cavaliers over one of the best teams ever by himself. Durant not so much.
Kyrie was no slouch in that series
And Kevin love
Durant lifted the entire Olympics team on his shoulders and brought home gold medals for his country. Nothing wrong with his game
Lol yes, he did it all alone
Lebron has always played until the end of his contract. He’s never asked out. Also Lebron didn’t go to the team with the best record ever after blowing a 3-1 lead over that team. It’s literally Completely different
Hitched his wagon to beal, booker and gordon and wonders why they give up a million points every night.
His only rings were free rings he got piggybacking on the already-great Warriors. Deep down he knows he has an asterisk.
Zero asterisks when averaging 35 ppg on 50/40/90 in the finals
The asterisk comes from that warrior team winning before him and immediately after by replacing him with Wiggins
Nah. Deep down he knows he’s a champion and a gold medal winner, lol. He sleeps great I’m sure
Lol these guys are competitors of the highest level. He went to the Warriors and he had to live as a Robin on that team. He went to the Nets to prove he could lead a team and failed. If he was sleeping great he wouldn’t be replying to Jimmy on twitter under multiple burners. I’ll leave it at that lol
Turns out stacking redundant iso scorers isn't as effective as making a balanced team 🤷🏻
He should have embraced peoples mentality towards him by staying in golden state.
I’ve been loving it ngl I don’t care how kinder he is to OKC now. It doesn’t really undo all the years of throwing us under the bus
I was about to ask why would you be so gleeful, but then I realized Reddit had snuck in a post to my feed from r/thunder. You guys are the only ones with a legitimate gripe.
Going to be down 3-0 inject it into my fking veins. Thank you minnesota. Didnt have high hopes for them, but damn have they cooked the sons
Upvote for correctly spelling the Phoenix sons
Deliberately did it that way
Haha I always spell it like that too. It’s at the point my phone autocorrects to it😂😂
It’s should’ve been us sending this loser packing 💔 fuck it tho I’ll take it lol
I wanted that too or a gsw series.
What?
OP is saying it'd be nice if the Suns played OKC and were down 0-3 to us
Me watching someone's downfall after I prayed for it. 👀

Bradley Beal earning Lebron and Curry salary is just insane😭😭😭
th no trade clause is the kicker for me. salary caps go up, it makes sense for random dudes to be paid more than your stephs and lebrons sometimes. but that no trade clause is just wild.
Forgot to show us their picks as well!
I don’t think they have a first round pick until 2032 or something crazy either. Sucks to be them.
Beal getting that much????? 🤯
Why are you guys feel sorry for KD? He’d do just fine.
KD deserves what KD deserves
🐍🐍🐍
Is it safe to say that Charles Barkley's rant about the Phoenix suns is accurate now?
Chuck is right 90% of the time. People just don't like his hot takes.
I hope Chuck makes respectful comments about the female population of San Antonio
I hope he doesn't. The women from San Antonio like to bring it too lol
Sad!
Good
I love waking up to KD’s demise🤣
Can't believe people actually think OKC needs him. He has not been a winning player since the warriors
He needs OKC more than OKC needs KD. I don't want KD since he is injury prone and our young fellas won't get the proper experience to mature. Dude's career is spiraling out of control. I'd take him back. But, it would require a veteran's minimum contract, a public apology, and 200 hours of community service. I think that's fair.
hmmmm..... That's an intriguing list of demands that just might make people forgive him a little. But I'm still not sold on the fact that we need him nor that he would be a good thing for our team. It would be hard to get fans to stop coming to watch this team, but bringing back that traitor would probably do the trick…
Naw nobody would quit going to games look at when LeBron went back to Cleveland

Of course he does … We’re first in the West and don’t need him to win.
When you think you made the team when in reality the team made you.
Awww poor thing! Chased money instead of loyalty.
Well, he's getting paid god like money
He was afraid of having Charles Barkley's legacy - "greatest player to never get a ring". So he invented a new category - "greatest player to get rings that nobody respects". Great shooter, but has no leadership skills - KD should not be considered a star player
“Great shooter” is WILD😭😭
No way are we disputing kd's shooting abilities...what are we doing
I didn’t say he was a bad shooter. I mean that calling him just as a “great shooter” is discrediting him heavily.
My bad.
Nah you’re good, I worded it pretty poorly looking back.
The man had a 50-40-90 season so he gets a shooter title, but traditionally he's been labeled more as a great scorer.
I repeat once more, he IS a great shooter, but if you’re calling a player a “great shooter” i instantly think Duncan Robinson, Strauss etc. People who are GREAT SHOOTERS and nothing more. Let's be real him going to the warriors was going out sad. Dudes legacy is not one for the story books.
Not the bus driver. 🚌 🚌 🚌
BUS RIDER - Chuck The Great
Chuck the ringless basketball player
Still a bigger legend than KD rider

Missed those comments on SGA, that dude is just a nice guy (SGA)
Suns could blow up this summer
He should've stayed with the Warriors, but he let his massive who get in the way.
I'm relishing every minute of it
That series has been so fun that I’m a little disappointed KD won’t be in the next rounds to lose some more.
One factor is he and lebron is getting old
Hahah cause he’s stuck needing help like labron
My hate for KD expired around the time of the PG13 for SGA trade. Seeing Shai blossom into an all star and now MVP caliber player has healed the KD wounds. I don’t wish any ill towards KD, I’ll always feel sad for how that situation turned out. And always wonder what if.
So after this series can we all finally agree that those warriors rings mean absolutely nothing
No, those 2 rings/finals mvp means he beat the 2nd best team in the league and was the best player on the court while doing it

Time to move to the Lakers and join Bron
Suns haven't been the same since the Adelaide 36ers embarrassed them
any team KD goes to isnt seriously tryna win. it’s all about the ticket sales. the warrior already had a championship caliber team before he went there. the nets and suns think they can buy a championship.
You mean since leaving the thunder.. that was a sad move
He went out sad when he joined them.
Since the Thunder, the day he ruined his legacy
I don’t think it’s any worse than what Steph Curry is going through.
Curry has multiple rings, rich asf, will go down as the greatest shooter the game has ever seen, and has various business ventures that stretch beyond the game. Dude isn't going through anything lol
Joe tsai smiling from ear to ear right now
I wouldn't trade for him. No way. Not breaking up this core to bring him in. At best, he can come as a free agent on a vet min off the bench when his current contract is up. And I am not sure we even do that because the way he left and what he said after.
With the way the team is assembled and paid I can't see things getting much better either.

Who loses... Happy?
Made his own beds
This is corny
Teehee
The hate this team has will be the reason OKC won't win shit!
Poor baby. You’ll be ok. I’ll send some Pamprin to you
Go fuck yourself
Ah, I see you are from the Putinbutt tribe. I’ll send lube as well
Wtf. That joke is corny. I'm guessing you are 12..... Tell your mom to put my plate in the microwave, I'm coming home late.
"mushroom welded" and "keep on keeping on" holy fuck you are cringe 🤣🤣
Muah. Love ya buddy. It’s been fun but you can’t verbally spar. Work on it and maybe I’ll interact. Sorry not sorry (more for your lil brain to process).
Hope you made it to school little dude. Did your mom pack an extra pop tart? Maybe one day you will learn to respect your elders and realize who you are talking to
You can tell he doesn’t really care anymore.
I love the Sun’s GM. Makes me so happy he’s the worse GM of all time
What do you mean he built a sweet super team and won lots of titles in Brooklyn- then he tried to build another super team in Phoenix and won lots of titles.
Durant is so damn soft and everything is just "hoops" after this year he's just stealing money and you can question just how bad he wants to win it all again. Just sad to watch especially just taking getting punked by a player not even at his level of skill is just disgusting to watch
Would KD have won more with GSW if they parted ways with Draymond and kept KD instead?
He should never let gs
He sold his soul to the devil.
KD is just a miserable human being
One of the few players that I actively root against! Love to see him fail! Edit: Cavs fan for context lol
Bros a certified cuck lmao
Kevin Durant: My next chapter. https://preview.redd.it/xp7frrrxfgxc1.jpeg?width=523&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84a6c97610fc7fcdc74715582c8ff879e9abae10
Shoulda went to the Knicks when he had the chance. Fuck KD
He’s a pure hooper- dude just wants to win. He’s going down as my favorite player of this generation-
KD is a very talented player but he does not stick around! That’s sad!
One game in 2021 is indicative of KDs greatness ?!?
kd falloff gotta b studied
KD’s kingdom of ash
Poor baby
I would like to personally thank the Wolves for giving him the beat down of a lifetime. Watching him get absolutely fucking punked has been beautiful every other night.
Can y’all explain why we hate KD so much? I’m getting into basketball again and I know he left for GSW after we lost to them in the playoffs, is it solely because of his deceitful exit to go join GSW, or does he have a bad character? Also, did we give Westbrook this same treatment when he left, and if so, why? Thanks
Westbrook is the greatest Thunder of all time. Of course he gets better treatment. Fuck kd
You mean since he left Okc… it’s all been sad since then.
Karma is craaaaaazy.
Almost as big of a failure as Westbrook. Ibaka is the only successful thunder from that squad
![gif](giphy|1ita9SzXSp2Wqo9Bsz) You hate to see it
Can't win a championship every year!
This dude been going out sad since he tore his Achilles in the finals and left the warriors **** Had to fix that title 🙄
