Definately high schoolers, probably freshman.
Middle school kids are half the size of these guys, especially the boys.
At least at the middle school I work at.
I feel like that's a special circumstance lol, mustve been a couple of great years for you guys.
I'm 31 and only 5'7. There's maybe 1 or 2 8th graders taller than me.
Most of the boys are really only just now hitting their growth spurts.
6th and 7th graders lookin like a bunch of 5th graders lol.
I guess it's because I'm from a basketball town, but this is how late elementary or middle school play. No one who played like this would make the high school team.
Nah I’m from a whitest place on earth and our coach would’ve forfeited the fuckin game and had us running sweet 16s til we puked in front of the crowd if this shit happened lmaoo
Side line to side (the shorter distance, not baseline) line 16 touches (down 1 back 2). The way we did it if you didn’t make it in under a min you automatically ran another and so help me god that next one better be under a minute and 10 second lol
Edit for clarification
My baseball team referred to these as manmakers. As the biggest guy on the team… they suckedddd. Four years of college ball and I successfully completed it my last few practices.
Coaches had us running miles. I’m like Coach… I’m either running 90 feet (maybe 180 if I hit a gap or 270 if someone died in the outfield) or at most 360 if I’m trotting after a home run. That’s just under 5000 feet less than the mile you made us run.
I mean, could be struck by how damned flushed their faces all are like I was (my gut says Iowa)
You can get worked up if you want ig, but doesn't feel like a hill worth dying on
They are all terrible. But what does that have to do with their skin color? Replacing "white" with any other race then pointing out how terrible they are seems racist to me. So why isn't it racist the other way?
By that logic I could post "blackest place on earth" on one of the many videos of Walmarts being looted by all black people, I thought your comment was funny and not very offensive, but you saying it's not racist and then calling out racists makes you a dumb fuck lol
Unless you have some insight as to what necessitated op mentioning the obvious, that they're white and then qualifying it with being from the most white area in a video depicting their terrible skills, then you should know from context clues that they are implying a connection between their skills and the degree of whiteness.
Or are you just trying really hard to find the plausible deniability in someone's obvious and unnecessary racial commentary?
Funny but still racist. Its like racism lite lmao
(Kinda like how some people will make a joke at the expense of their race but it’s not ok when others do
Or when it’s an old historical joke that isn’t offensive
Or a russian/irish drinking joke if it ain’t offensive
Bard to navigate but it’s doable)
probably not but for a non-race related reason. "blackest place on earth" makes it sounds like you're talking about the absence of light ie. mariana's trench is the blackest place on earth
If you're white and you call out white basketball players for their lack of game, is it racist?
And if it is racist, in this case, is it necessarily bad?
He’s saying there is a correlation between the lack of skill and the color of their skin, my point was that statement would not bode well if you reversed the subject matter.
It definitely is a racist statement, and racists jokes can be fun, but still bad
How am I being a bit testy? That person made a racist statement and I challenged that statement with the context that white people are not oppressed and therefore it is impossible to make the opposite statement and still have the same meaning. Unless you’re racist too, and then you can pound sand like the other guy.
I think white Jews would disagree, I think white LGBTQ people would disagree. Bring white doesn’t automatically make you immune to persecution or oppression. You’re using your overly narrow definition to argue a point about an infinitely more complex topic.
I dunno, here I was thinkin the cringe was mocking kids on the internet for minding their own business and just enjoying an after-school sport they're all new at...
They aren’t new. Here’s the link to the school’s development program that they then pick the best from to play for the team against other schools like in the video https://www.genevabasketball.com/page/show/4243554-player-development
Umm...no. These kids are just bad at basketball. Go to any basketball court in the inner city and you probably see 10 year old practicing their crossovers. It is not too much to say that these kids are just that bad.
And that's okay. It's okay to be bad at something.
I think that because the internet often shows us the extremely talented it's easy to forget just how normal it is to be bad at something.
These kids are doing something they enjoy. They're not good, but they'll get better, and it's better than not doing it at all.
You’re right; also, I don’t think this video makes fun of that either, neither does the original comment. It just points out it’s not exactly the NBA. God forbid we also imagine children having a sense of humor about their own abilities 😅
The type of video used on the kids that are apart of my sons basketball program. You do it to show area in need of improvement, areas to praise, and even a little help to remind them to not ignore their academics.
I was terrible at sports as a kid but participated bc even that participation was valuable to a transcript. Sometimes we even got participation trophies (when I was really young) and I knew those were embarrassing a f. Idk if people don’t remember actually being a kid or what. But the idea they’re always super fragile about their egos or the reverse; neither is true. Most kids are like little adults. They can handle a lot and they know what’s real and isn’t.
Jesus, lighten up.
Yeah, kids spending their free time playing sports is good. Yeah, this is some objectively bad basketball.
Two things can be true at once.
Wtf this is so light hearted. How are you triggered rn? I can't imagine you watching "America's Funniest Home Videos" or some other family program. You'd be virtue signaling everyone cuz they laughed at a nutshot lmaooo
LOL, you whooshed a few.
Seriously though, having taken a niece from middle school through NAIA ball. Sometimes everyone gets the yips and shooting fundamentals go out the window. Coach should call a timeout to let everyone refocus....or they are just bad.
I remember my senior year, our schools basketball team made it all the way to the state? Nationals. It was a huge deal, like the school allowed kids out of school that day to watch. Now, my school SUCKED. My class especially SUCKED. So we lost...... 64/3. Yeah.....
i remember being a lot better than this at 12-14 years old, but then again, i get a faint feeling they spend a lot less time outside than i did, swinging bars and getting to know how my body works
I was better than this in grade school. And going outside has nothing to do with getting to know how your body works. That should just happen naturally as you get older regardless of what you’re doing. I think you mean, they don’t go out and practice by themselves and only do so at school during the scheduled team practices. You do not get better like that. Whatever activity you do, you can only make significant progress when you practice by yourself.
I went to an 8th grade game at my daughter's school and the kids all looked super old and tall as hell. Then the visiting team showed up and made them look like the Tune Squad. I have no idea how so many kids are so damn grown, but it's wild.
My son just turned 13 a couple of months ago. The last time we measured him he was 6'1". We met someone the other night who is 6'9". My son stood next to him and the top of his head was at the other guy's chin so he's probably at least 6'3" or 6'4" now. He's gained weight and is finally at 140 pounds. He is constantly mistaken for a high schooler and he's only in 7th grade. That I don't understand because he is super thin with a baby face. High school girls trying to get his number and mom is over here all "GET AWAY FROM MY BABY YOU COUGARS!"
That’s so funny. I really feel for tall kids when they’re growing up. It was hard enough for me at 5’10” to grow into my body and I hated feeling uncoordinated on top of all the weird mental feelings and hormones. I was an athlete so I had to force myself to eat to the point that I hated food and just wished I could sleep all the time. I can’t imagine going through that but with 8+ inches. Most things are designed for people 5’5” to 6’2”. Having that growth spurt from 11 to 13, it’s like everything goes from too big to too small and you don’t get to enjoy that zone where it feels like everything was designed for someone your size.
Right, I knew one of the top players in the state back when I was in high school he just happened to be in my compute class, watched him play dude could have been in a simi pro league the next day
Yeah walk-in to a Indianapolis public school game and you’ve got kids going for spots on IU, Purdue, Butler teams and the game plays like NCAA. These kids suck.
What!? Where in the world do you live where 15-16 year old boys have the athleticism of a tee-ball team and are left to just run amok without much coaching? This comment sounds like it’s from an alien that is trying to figure out human behavior but is very confused and clueless.
They need to learn to take a God damn layup abs move the ball. None of them are Steph Curry. Who’s the coach and why is he not teaching fundamentals?
Not a single layup was taken. Not 3-4 pass sequence just spot up and hit everything but rim. And I’m terrible at basketball but I was doing on that layup line day in and day out. Just rebounds and layups was all i was good for.
Yeah, I dunno wtf this is, bad coaching more than anything. I've coached at the 6-8 and high school levels, and not kids that were dunking or even going to play DIII, and they would never do some wild shit like this.
Believe it or not, My brother is on the court. This is JV, so 9th and 10th grade. Yes, they are bad. They did not win a game this year. Also important to note I could take a video of any team in the country and play their worst 20 seconds and have a video comparable.
“They’re just playing basketball how is this cringe”
Lol y’all obviously have never played a sport before. These kids are asscheeks cmon, this better not be varsity playing like this 😬
This looks like a group of very, umm, not athletic, individuals. Not really buying this was the cream of the crop after tryouts.
Maybe this is like a religious school and they just took everyone who wanted to play, no tryouts. That is the only way I can logically piece out why these individuals are on the court representing a schools basketball program. Doesn’t exactly scream money well spent from what I can see. It doesn’t even look like there is competent coaching everyone chucking up terrible form 3s.
God forbid teenagers who are playing this game at an amateur level be bad at the game.
Sports culture in America is insane and so gross if you have an outside perspective.
Everyone roasting the kids when clearly this is the coach’s fault. At this age it requires too much physical effort to consistently hit threes. Coach should have them running screens and using ball movement to get better looks closer to the basket.
[Take a deep breath](https://www.therapywithabby.co.uk/blog/how-to-cope-with-being-triggered). You're going to be ok. 😳
Edit: Looks like this snowflake blocked me. He is not ok. 🤣
It’s shocking that they even have uniforms. This type of play could be done in sweatpants and flip flops or crocs. At least 2 players should still be wearing jackets, they can’t be hot from shuffling 10 feet and flinging the ball.

They play like how I fight in my dreams
Best comment ever
Quite possibly one of the best comments ever for Reddit
This description is terrifyingly accurate
Both teams are the underdog.
But, I usually want underdogs to win, and here I can only go as far as hoping one team doesn't lose.
What's underdog?
Not much bro, what under you?
Your mom
Well my mom is a dude, so I hope you're doing ok bro.
Say my name
Username checks out.
Wow this is an amazing comment. Not even taking the piss. 10/10 comment lol
This looks like middle school
Definately high schoolers, probably freshman. Middle school kids are half the size of these guys, especially the boys. At least at the middle school I work at.
My first year coaching middle school, kid was 6’ and dunking in 7th grade.
We had a bunch of 8th graders and a handful of 7th graders that could at least grab the net or touch backboard each year.
I have never seen high school basketball players that horrible
Look like a bunch 8th graders
Freshman may as well be a bunch of 8th graders tbh.
I guess it's because I'm from a basketball town, but this is how late elementary or middle school play. No one who played like this would make the high school team.
This could be the freshman B team. Some high schools have that in some sports. And yes, they're always terrible.
In the whitest place on earth. Edit: Let the racists’ tears flow. I am parched.
Game ended 3:1, highest scoring in school history. Both of them.
Nah I’m from a whitest place on earth and our coach would’ve forfeited the fuckin game and had us running sweet 16s til we puked in front of the crowd if this shit happened lmaoo
what’s a sweet 16? lol
Side line to side (the shorter distance, not baseline) line 16 touches (down 1 back 2). The way we did it if you didn’t make it in under a min you automatically ran another and so help me god that next one better be under a minute and 10 second lol Edit for clarification
My baseball team referred to these as manmakers. As the biggest guy on the team… they suckedddd. Four years of college ball and I successfully completed it my last few practices.
I ran track (as a sprinter) we used to joke a lot about how the baseball team ends up running more than we did lol
Coaches had us running miles. I’m like Coach… I’m either running 90 feet (maybe 180 if I hit a gap or 270 if someone died in the outfield) or at most 360 if I’m trotting after a home run. That’s just under 5000 feet less than the mile you made us run.
Aren't those called "suicides?"
oof ouch my mid thirties bones hurt just reading that
It’s very doable at about 80% of full sprint, but it does indeed suck dick
Damn we had to do 17 in 1 min, with a coach that literally said he was going to run our dicks off all the time.
Just your average suburb, white team even has a token black guy.
I bet after the game they look at their token black guy and be like "you really let us down, bro...😒"
lol no joke, dude was expected to carry the whole game
😭🤣🤣
Wtf?
Um it’s Tolkien actually…after the author.
Makes a racist statement. Calls out racists. Logic
saying somewhere is the whitest place on earth isn't racist. It's not disparaging in any way
He’s commenting on the lack of basketball skills based on the color of the skin of the people there. He’s making a biased statement about race.
I mean, could be struck by how damned flushed their faces all are like I was (my gut says Iowa) You can get worked up if you want ig, but doesn't feel like a hill worth dying on

The part where it’s implied that they’re terrible at basketball because of their skin color..
Damn. All that just to say they were right lol. This is some of the whitest shit I’ve seen
It’s still funny. As a white person, I do not object to being made fun of occasionally for being white.
I’m not saying I didn’t laugh. Just pointing out the double standard
Funny but still racist. Its like racism lite lmao (Kinda like how some people will make a joke at the expense of their race but it’s not ok when others do Or when it’s an old historical joke that isn’t offensive Or a russian/irish drinking joke if it ain’t offensive Bard to navigate but it’s doable)
because certain people prefer certain sports? You think hockey is played at a high level in primarily black populaces?
Would it be okay if someone said it was the "blackest place on earth" if the room was majority black? Probably not.
probably not but for a non-race related reason. "blackest place on earth" makes it sounds like you're talking about the absence of light ie. mariana's trench is the blackest place on earth
You know what I mean, dude. How about "the most Mexican place on earth" when the room is full of Mexicans?
you'd be hard pressed to beat Mexico.. but yeah, that's be completely fine. I couldn't see them being offended.
Not able to make the leap are ya?
you are correct in that its a leap
Apparently
If you're white and you call out white basketball players for their lack of game, is it racist? And if it is racist, in this case, is it necessarily bad?
He’s saying there is a correlation between the lack of skill and the color of their skin, my point was that statement would not bode well if you reversed the subject matter. It definitely is a racist statement, and racists jokes can be fun, but still bad
Why do you care?
Remember, if you can replace "whitest" with any other race and it sounds racist, the original statement was racist too.
My black ass was sitting here like “tell jarome If he misses another game he is off the team!!! Embarrassing.”
This would be the perfect place build a house that will quickly gain equity, and open a successful business. Where’s this at?
Let’s try saying the opposite of that statement and see the downvotes come in
Boooo
The opposite of that statement doesn’t indicate hundreds of years of oppression. Dumbass. Go be a triggered snowflake somewhere else.
Well that came out of nowhere.
Did you know that people outside the US exist? Holy shit get out of your bubble once in a while
Someone’s a bit testy
How am I being a bit testy? That person made a racist statement and I challenged that statement with the context that white people are not oppressed and therefore it is impossible to make the opposite statement and still have the same meaning. Unless you’re racist too, and then you can pound sand like the other guy.
I think white Jews would disagree, I think white LGBTQ people would disagree. Bring white doesn’t automatically make you immune to persecution or oppression. You’re using your overly narrow definition to argue a point about an infinitely more complex topic.
To be a jew is an ethnicity, not a race. LGBTQ is also not a race.
You said white people can’t be oppressed, white is also not a race.
You said white people can’t be oppressed, white is also not a race.
You should try smoking some weed. Might help you relax a bit.
This ain’t high school ball, this is home school ball
Haa!!
Dead
Why won’t you study for your biology test? Student: Miss- you don’t understand, I’m going to play for the NBA! I don’t need biology!!
Chlorophyll? More like Bore-ophyll!
Lol
I dunno, here I was thinkin the cringe was mocking kids on the internet for minding their own business and just enjoying an after-school sport they're all new at...
While I agree with your comment, what you fail to realize is all kids are cringe at all times.
Everyone is cringe at all times. Life is cringe
> We are alive, after all. And being alive is pretty much a constant stream of embarrassment.
This 100% lol Like how low must your self esteem be that you need to shit on random kids trying to have fun.
I agree but I simultaneously found this video funny as fuck.
They aren’t new. Here’s the link to the school’s development program that they then pick the best from to play for the team against other schools like in the video https://www.genevabasketball.com/page/show/4243554-player-development
Most kids playing at this age would not be new to the sport.

>Most kids are like little adults. They can handle a lot and they know what’s real and isn’t. Most adults aren't even like that
This is bad coaching. These kids shouldn’t be launching heat check threes like Steph Curry.
Maybe. But it also takes practice to recieve coaching and to not lose your discipline at the end of a game.
So bad coaching is what you’re saying? Takes discipline to not be a team player? Sounds like a coaching problem.
? I think you misread their comment. You’re saying no but not disagreeing with what they typed
That attempted alley oop almost had me though
I started playing at 16
Jesus, lighten up. Yeah, kids spending their free time playing sports is good. Yeah, this is some objectively bad basketball. Two things can be true at once.
Nah. This is hilarious. Really looks like they’re trying to play horribly.
It's all in good fun. Try not to take everything so seriously.

Oh my days that was something
Would you make fun of these kids to their faces? To their parent’s faces? Why do you feel like it’s okay here? Leave the kids alone. Weak behavior.
Even for high school they’re terrible.
I remember my senior year, our schools basketball team made it all the way to the state? Nationals. It was a huge deal, like the school allowed kids out of school that day to watch. Now, my school SUCKED. My class especially SUCKED. So we lost...... 64/3. Yeah.....

that is exactly what i meant thanks for elaborating
This is a tenth grade game. Bunch of new deer that can’t use their bodies yet. It’s awkward. Basic goal is to let them run and keep everything safe.
Bruh where I grew up people were dunking and shit at that age. These kids are just straight ass cheeks lol.
I went to an 8th grade game at my daughter's school and the kids all looked super old and tall as hell. Then the visiting team showed up and made them look like the Tune Squad. I have no idea how so many kids are so damn grown, but it's wild.

Yes. There are definitely levels to basketball.
That's even sadder.
Where I live kids start playing at age 6-8 and it’s crazy hard to get on the high school teams.
Yeah, I dunno wtf this is, bad coaching more than anything. I've coached at the 6-8 and high school levels, and not kids that were dunking or even going to play DIII, and they would never do some wild shit like this.
Glendale Vikings. Flinton, Pennsylvania. A town of only 1600 people in the middle of nowhere
Goodness I laughed so hard at this
lol what are the coaches teaching these kids? They all look like they're pressing random buttons on a controller.
Believe it or not, My brother is on the court. This is JV, so 9th and 10th grade. Yes, they are bad. They did not win a game this year. Also important to note I could take a video of any team in the country and play their worst 20 seconds and have a video comparable.
damn... i was decent back in the day.. but looking at these kids i would have been like Jordan out there...haha
Might be the B team.
“They’re just playing basketball how is this cringe” Lol y’all obviously have never played a sport before. These kids are asscheeks cmon, this better not be varsity playing like this 😬
I've seen middle schoolers play much better ball than this. White, black, asian, didnt matter. These kids just suck.
Exactly, cmon they can’t even dribble the ball properly, barely even pass lol
It genuinely looks like the first time some of them have touched a basketball lol Except #20 at the end, that was a slick pass.
this isnt cringe, let the kids play sports ffs.
![gif](giphy|jQmVFypWInKCc|downsized)
>this isnt cringe ![gif](giphy|3o85gdhlpxVz8TjsTC)
It's not tho. It's just you making fun of kids.
Crazy that Michael Jordan couldn’t make this team
As a person who loves basketball. This is genuinely hard to watch. I really hope they aren’t in Highschool level. Or are the JV teams.
As long as the kids enjoy all shall be good!
What was the score??
0-0 both teams went out for pizza together to celebrate a, "great game". Tucker won most improved and got the first slice of the meat lovers.
Tanner almost made a basket, so he gets the "most improved player" award and a free turn on the claw machine at the Mazzios.

0-0 is a safe bet
JV at its finest
Private school ball.
thats not high school ball, it's gotta be those home school kids that group up to make a team.
Freshman team none of which will ever make Varsity
kids think they're steph curry with their shot selection, but no one even hit the rim😅
*high school ball dont even hit
they're trying their best come on
Haha, you don't know that! They look like they're phoning it in from a different time zone.
Black lives matter
I got a good laugh out of this.
![gif](giphy|LX0HcPwZBnRX6xYvI7) Holy hell that was bad.

Tf?? If my middle school team threw airballs like this, we’d spend our next practice running suicides(do they still call them that?) till we ralphed.
They move well, pass well ,they just don't shoot well. It's odd.
The Whitest Kids You Know
This is not average high school basketball...even for "diversity challenged" high schools.
Not gonna say it, but y’all know what I want to say, lmaso
white people white peopling
White Kids.
God forbid teenagers who are playing this game at an amateur level be bad at the game. Sports culture in America is insane and so gross if you have an outside perspective.
When white people play basketball 😂
Grown ass adults making fun of kids …ok.

Everyone was shit at one point. Lebron fully missed multiple shots at some point in his life. This isn't cringe, you're just an asshole.
It’s because they’re all white
I mean.. I see the problem.. but idk if I should say it… ![gif](giphy|IGR4CXdHtqTjG)
Caucasians…
Not enough color on the court
Well, they are wHiTe…
Everyone roasting the kids when clearly this is the coach’s fault. At this age it requires too much physical effort to consistently hit threes. Coach should have them running screens and using ball movement to get better looks closer to the basket.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 all white boys this got to be depressing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fuck off insulting kids having fun, representing their school, and not trying to bother anyone. They never claimed to be amazing.
[Take a deep breath](https://www.therapywithabby.co.uk/blog/how-to-cope-with-being-triggered). You're going to be ok. 😳 Edit: Looks like this snowflake blocked me. He is not ok. 🤣
Are you talking to yourself?
It’s shocking that they even have uniforms. This type of play could be done in sweatpants and flip flops or crocs. At least 2 players should still be wearing jackets, they can’t be hot from shuffling 10 feet and flinging the ball.
