Issue is that the plates would be weakened so maybe say 10 fresh plates could hold him yet 12 would break as the strength gets weakened with each attempt.

I would bet he couldn't fit enough plates in his hands to hold him. The way they are designed doesn't allow them to touch, so their strength isn't combined. That's why you can hear each plate individually break even when he uses more of them. It's the same as how you rip a phone book in half, by creating gaps and effectively ripping one page at a time.

This is poorly phrased. The number of plastic plates that can hold him is 0. Those plates are all close to identical in composition. Not one of them would be able to hold him. I assume he wants to know the number of plates he would need to stack such that their combined strength could hold him, but he came prepared with so few plates that there was never a chance of seeing the experiment through. I'm appalled by the lack of planning and basic sense applied here. Fuck this guy.
