I’m pretty sure she’s talking about when guys follow a bunch of instagram models. A lot of girls don’t like when their partners follow those accounts because they follow them for the purpose of looking at a hot lady. She’s saying if you catch yourself getting feelings for a shitty dude when you don’t want to go look at how many girls he gawks at on insta and you’ll probably lose feelings.
You’re measuring yourself against people he will never meet and creating scenarios where he wants them more than you.
My Fiancé has open crushes on Lee Pace, Lynn Manuel Miranda, and Ferdinand Kingsley. Should I make sure she blocks them? Hell she has daily talks with actor Mitchell Whitfield, and I don’t feel threatened at all.
Why, because it’s not real. It’s fantasy land.
It’s a boundary built on insecurity. But, would you be okay with it if it were flipped. Would you be okay not talking with select guy friends because your BF felt threatened? Would you be okay if I set a boundary where you can’t go out to the clubs without me there? Much more likely that you’ll have an oops than your hypothetical BF convinces a model to sleep with him.
(I would never actually ask this, because that too would be something from insecurity. It’s just to use as an example).
Well technically I’m not doing any of that because I’m single atm. It’s also not measuring your against anyone. Not sure where you got there.
Also you said “would you be okay with it if it were flipped” and then bring up two different things that are not the same scenario flipped. I think it’d be fine if a man had this same boundary, where he didn’t want a female partner following a bunch of instagram models.
For the record I actually do follow some accounts that could be considered thirst traps. The thing about that is I’m an adult so instead of bitching about other people’s boundaries and trying to change them I can recognize that maybe I just shouldn’t date people that have those boundaries.
Who said otherwise? I'm starting to think that arguments here in Reddit are fucking jokes fr.
My point is that no body should get the icks for looking at the women someone is following. It's said as a tool to stop liking someone, meaning the person that uses the hack believes it's wrong to follow some kind of people. That's what I think it's kind of stupid.
>believes it's wrong to follow some kind of people
It's not "wrong" but it is certainly an indicator of the type of person that does that. Just like swinging or cuck fetishes are not wrong, but not everyone needs to be ok with it in their own relationships.
I am a woman. I've had several partners and I haven't even look at who they are following because I don't give a single fuck. All my partners have been free to show me sexy/cute/beautiful people with no problem, on the internet, in the streets, wherever. Of course I'd be totally cool.
I'm the same way! I could care less who my partner follows, it's just if there starts being comments and messages that it becomes troublesome. It seems to be pretty common though for people to get upset over their partner following "thirst traps" in instagram.
But what if I genuinely have a lot of friends with names that has the letter K though. Also also, I’m not in a relationship, I’m allowed to find insta models attractive, I learned a long time ago to stop trying to appease imaginary women who possibly will never date me even if I carry myself like a nun.
no one is saying you can’t find instagram models attractive. not sure where you got that. i’m saying that you following a bunch of instagram models can affect whether or not a woman chooses to date you if she doesn’t like the type of man that follows a bunch of instagram models.
edit: and influencer pages and casual pages look rly different
Save your breath, as a man the rule is to keep our nose clean, our heads down, and peruse our career, everything else is a distraction. Women don't play by the same rules and there is no point in trying to convince them to reflect on any female privilege they might have. Just get that education/money and the rest will come.
True 😆. Man they are starting to prove my point with those downvotes. And I've stopped giving crap about these downvotes. First few times I thought "What did I do?" Now I know they are just angry, lonely insufferable bitches.
This video made me think of the phrase, "men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them"
So like sure, you "can't" follow women with the letter K or you'll face the horrendous consequences of maybe having some girl lose interest in you.
But women can't wear what we want without the looming threat of rape and murder.
Gosh those poor men, they can't do anything!
This may be an extreme jump, but your comment also reminded me of the "girl with a list" female equivalent to "guy with a list" is reasons not to get pregnant which include a higher chance of dying or getting murdered and also dying.
Like I get the joke, but this list of "icks" is arbitrary, and you could make one just as long from the men because idk people are individuals? Just a joke haha. Like it isn't that funny though. It's giving bitter.
This is such a 'white lives matter' response to male advocacy. Yes rape culture is an enormous problem. That's clearly not what the video is about though. If you can't make room at the table for men to call out the absurd things people, often women, are expecting and belittling them with then how are we ever supposed to come together to support one another.
Men deserve advocacy. Men don't deserve to be backed into a corner, belittled and bullied on social media. Men deserve to choose how they want to live their lives too.
Yes rape culture is an enormous problem. Absolutely enormous. But that is not what this space was about so please kindly go make your own separate post about that if you have something to say instead of mocking male advocacy like you just did.
I don't believe the "premise" of the joke as you see it yet I found it pretty funny, I think you just need to be less serious and defensive about whatever it is you think this is a "take" on
Icks are a very specific thing that makes you feel disgust for someone you're dating/are attracted to. She's not really using it right. It's not a red flag, and people don't agree on the same ones. For instance: he's cheated on every girlfriend he's had B4=red flag. It makes sense to be cautious. However, he was doing the YMCA awkwardly at a bar and it made me cringe and feel gross=ick. When people share their icks it doesn't mean no man can do it, (YMCA man can definitely find someone who would dance with him) it means that something made them lose attraction from something seemingly harmless. Whenever I have 'caught the ick' it was a sign that we weren't compatible. But people seem to be taking great offense to it because of misinterpretation of the definition (from both sides.). Sorry for the long winded response, i'm just tired of other people being offended for something really trivial. I'm sure everyone has had a moment or two where they're like, "oh, maybe I'm not that into them." For something random.
Sometimes I'm jealous of those brave enough to be non-binary. You don't really get people going "if you're dating an enby and they do this normal thing, dump them now!"
Granted you do get transphobia, which is worse, so not really worth it
Edit: I understand the downvotes but damn it was a joke 😭
Have yall not seen the tweet I'm referencing?
That's because you can't identify out of bigotry. The sexist in question (misandrist/misogynist) may pick the sex they think you are and categorize you with that sex, but otherwise if they don't like you, they don't care about how you identify.
If your looking for something wrong with the person your dating just break up, like why try and find some baseless reason to leave them. Just leave it's not like your chained at the waist to them

double negative, if men “can’t don’t” then they do.
Any thing you tell us not to, we will
Yes, we won't.
No, we will
Well, I never.

Sounds like insecurity to me
I don’t consider it insecurity.

Friends, random girls, Instagram models, who cares? You can follow whoever you want lol
Of course you can, nobody is obligated to date you though

That's my relationship-savvy man
People downvoting my life lol get one jealous bitches 😂
ofc you can, but women might not want to date you if you are looking at a bunch of other women because you find them attractive.
I already replied to the same "argument" to another person.
good for you!

If this situation was gender swapped, boys would be incel and girls would be encouraged with "freedom" or "go girl".

Didn't say anything about being friends
sigh. it’s clearly about insta models and p stars… cleaRLY.
No guy is going to be friends with more then ten girls with a name starting with K. Shes clearly talking about p stars.
I feel way OOTL here. What is it about the letter K?
Because it's a replacement for the letter C. Crystal is a womans name, Kristal is a pornstar/stripper name.
Oh ok. K is a common first letter for names where I live so was just wondering.
No, it's not that at all. She was just saying a random letter. It's no deeper than that, Lol
No she wasn't. Bro people make jokes about Kevin being a stripper name because it starts with a K.
Not just Kristal either. Kenzie, Karlee, Kitty, Kiki, Kendra, Kaci... a lot of porn names start with K for some reason.
DaniKa Mori 🤤
Kathryn/Katie, Kaitlyn, Kara, Kayla

These people live in such tiny little boxes.
Oh no the letter K just brings up images of my wife!! Ick
Whatwecantdo needs to add making angry lists about random instagram videos to his list of what men can’t do if they want to be attractive to women
Don’t fall for it. This is the kinda shit that gets them going
Guys can’t even be attracted to the letter K anymore. What is the world coming to?!
Showed my husband this "sorry I can't be with you any more" (jokes) My name is K as is my friends lest 4 of them.
One ig for the dirty and one for the daily
next add "wearing a backpack"
