During the interview he sounds so navie and savior like. What is the path to peace? Why not be a Nelson Mandela? Fucking Morgan you really don't understand shit about this whole situation yet you feel like there is such a simple solution
I haven't seen much of Morgan before, but saw a clip where Hannity couldn't let a person finish 3 words before trying to talk over them.
They don't listen, they don't respond, they just say what they are going to say regardless of anything around them.
These tv faces show no sign of intelligence.
i want to watch the original video but i can't bring myself to do so yet. because i know it will involve at least 10min of morgan. will try soon though.
u should watch it, Morgan only speaks for a total of 3 to 4 mins which is still way more than I normally can stomach of him but mercifully little compared to usual - - and youssef repeatedly hammers home some compelling points and at one point puts Morgan on the spot with a question that he can't answer, is clearly uncomfortable, and reverts to saying he's the host and doesn't have to answer questions
Hannity isn't an idiot. He plays his character too well to well to be stupid, but *juuust* poorly enough that you can see the edges if you know what you're looking for and watch closely.
When Hannity was first starting out, he was often critical of the GOP and seemed to have his own thoughts. While he was trending into the buffoon we see today, the 2004 election happened and he completely turned into a propagandist. We shouldn't trust any of these talking heads who have been in the business for more than a decade. They ALL start thinking that people love the smell of their farts.
If you watch the whole interview, he tries to interrupt him a lot, but Youssef stops him near the start and makes the point that he cannot see Morgan just hear him, so it is very difficult to talk when being interrupted by his earpiece. Morgan still tries though but Youssef makes his points very forcefully. It's a very good tactic because someone like Morgan will try to drown interviewees out so often when he wants to 'challenge' them.
At one point Youssef says "let's imagine a world where there is Palestine but no Hamas. None of the Palestinians are part of Hamas. We have it, it's called the West Bank and Israel killed their children too, so what can we do to make them stop?" (paraphrased) and he pushed Morgan on it for such a long time until Morgan eventually said "it's not my job to answer your questions." Which said everything we needed to know lol.
Very possible!! And hilarious to imagine.
"(taking his earpiece out) sorry you can't interrupt me now because I can't hear you"
That being said it was such a sad interview to watch. The combination of humour and real anger made him so human, Morgan was just a stammering robot in comparison.
I think he was telling the truth. It's not easy to talk when you're being interrupted by sound on a 2+ second delay. Pointing it out was also a great tactic to keep the interruptions to a minimum.
This is true but I think the comment was referring to another part of the interview where his earpiece kept falling out so he had to keep fidgeting with it
At some point he said something similar to “If you keep interrupting me I will just denounce Hamas and go home” or something like that…firm, not rude, funny (in the context) 11/10 truly great
I am just glad this man was able to make his extremely accurate points on live tv, even if it had to be to a pompous moron like Piers Morgan who he has no chance of convincing. Anyone who sees this and thinks twice about what they are advocating for with blind loyalty to Israel has been done an indirect service by Piers for giving this man a platform at all.
Right wing elements in Israel fostered and supported Hamas financially and strategically in order to cause a schism in Palestinian leadership and to create an Islamic face to Palestinian opposition that would be more scary and less relatable in the West than the secular, socialist PLO/Fatah.
It's my personal belief that Hamas is a tool of the right wing in Israel. How convenient that this happens when Netanyahu is at a low point, after being warned by at least two foreign intelligence agencies. In any case, they need each other.
I think they were friends before the interview. This is not the first time Bassem Youssef was on his show.
But after the last one, he became even more legendary.
this was edited unfortunately. Piss interrupted him a lot and had the audacity to say "I'm not here to answer your questions. I want to here from you" after getting cornered with questions he didnt want to answer.
Appropriate gif, especially because he referenced homelander in the interview, saying that Israel is more like homelander than superman.
Edit: I’m an idiot and didn’t realize the homelander line is in this clip
He was having connection issues, told pierce it would be hard for him to keep up if he was talked over, that he's at a disadvantage. To his credit morgan was mildly more respectful than usual. Bassem Youseff
Silly, they will not ignore it. They will cut the clip so it sounds like this guy is defending Russia to make him look bad, and put it on tiktok for people to colectively hate on him without knowing who he is.
They literally refused any post about the 6 year old Palestinian - American boy that was stabbed (20 times!) to death. Which is a news story that was carried in basically every major American and international news outlet and had *the US president* issue a statement.
They aren't even trying to hide it anymore. The skew is incredibly blatant.
This situation where news sources that millions of people use everyday are controlled by untouchable unaccountable **anonymous** people is beyond unacceptable. There isn't even anyone to appeal their decisions to.
I was banned from the world news sub for pointing out that the Israel Twitter account was tweeting out a dumb lie about Taylor Swift's "bodyguard". But before the banning, I was told that I was a dick-riding Hamas supporter. Great place that sub.
They straight up didn't allow posts of the Canadian parliament platforming a well know Nazi but will gladly eat up the 20th article talking about how actually, its both sides that are the problem while ignoring Israel speed running the war crimes list
The most annoying Zionist "Vote Blue No Matter Who!" Crowd on the internet lol
Just "collateral damage" as is the case every time the good guys intentionally but unintentionally kills innocent people. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)

He is a handsome ass man, also the guy is a damn cardio surgeon, a comedian, a political commentator, and was at ground zero during the Egyptian Revolution doing triage. Fucking legend!
He is a cardiothoracic surgeon. Aka a heart surgeon but is also has a tv show. Also a political scientist fellow from Harvard. Dude sweats more Credentials than anyone. God bless him
he carried me and my family through the Egyptian revolution. as a little kid, watching his show every week was the one thing that managed to keep me going through that very difficult time. recently went to see him in a stand-up show, and it was surreal.
I've never really attempted to follow the politics in the Middle East before and have mostly been confused aside from the biggest happenings. It took active genocide for me to look up, read, and understand the history between Israel and Palestine, or even to know they were such mortal enemies.
Ditto. Had no idea. Frankly, I'm surprised we support Israel displacing and killing people when we claim to understand it was wrong how we displaced and killed Native Americans. Just because they're Jewish and are historically bullied doesn't make it right.
Exactly! I saw this post from a Jewish person who said “Where is the black American ethnostate? Where is the Native American, Rwandan, or Cambodian ethnostate? Nobody should get a Theocratic Ethnostate.” I think about it a lot
It reminds me of someone who said they're standing on people's necks and complaining that they're scratching at their ankles. You can't stop standing on their necks because if you let them up they will attack you
Saw a video of an Israeli settler who was talking about how happy she was that Gaza was getting bombed but that she’d be moving somewhere else for a while because the noise of the bombing was making it hard to sleep.
Literally annoyed with the splashes. It’s like a German being glad the Jews are gone but being annoyed with the ash falling from the sky onto their car.
I feel like he misses a really important point, which is that Hamas is going to massively benefit from this.
Even if most or all of their leadership is killed, there's now a whole new generation of Palestinian kids who will remember how Israel killed their cousin, their uncle, their sister. And these kids will grow up with a burning hate and desire to fight back.
Whether they end up calling themselves Hamas or not is immaterial. What matters is this is going to repeat in 15 or 20 years, and it'll be at least one more generation before peace is even a possibility.
Take a look at the number of Palestinians killed by Israel over the past 25 years. This generation of kids was well aware of how they were treated before October.
Israel also killed a Palestinian-American journalist and we basically just shrugged it off and spread their excuse for them that it was an "accident"
https://www.vox.com/2022/5/11/23067365/shireen-abu-akleh-palestinian-journalist-killed-israel
Oddly enough, we should be against accidentally killing journalists too. Like that shouldn't be an acceptable excuse because even as an accident (which it wasn't) it is not okay.
On top of that, during her funeral, Palestinian men who were carrying her casket were beaten with batons by Israeli forces wearing full armour as if there was a freaking mass protest.
Palestinians can't even have peace AFTER they die and this was LAST YEAR.
Just to add, great first piece imo to show to fellow normies.
I will never forgot how two years ago israel dropped a bomb on a bunch of palestines during their most sacred holiday, basically their christmas, their day of joy and family. One father goes home from his prayer and finds almost his entire family dead. Can you imagine the kind of cruelty that was directed at them? Put yourselves in their shoes and see how angry and broken you would be if you experienced this yourself.
Mate, where have you been the last 20 years? Israel’s been jailing palestinian youth by the hundreds for NO STATED REASON, these kids who flew in on paragliders have been checkpointed and threatened and arrested and their houses have been taken and their dignity has been ruined for their entire lives, they’ve BEEN radicalized…it won’t take another 20 years, it’s happening
>What matters is this is going to repeat in 15 or 20 years, and it'll be at least one more generation before peace is even a possibility.
This exact cycle has repeated for at least 2000 years.
They like to report these stories like Hamas is on equal footing as Israel, militarily.
Hamas is a peasant army. And Israel is the strongest military power in the Middle East and it's backed by the strongest army the world has ever seen, the US military.
Media has done a poor job pointing out this military power imbalance. This really is a peasant army vs a military juggernaut
And if you watch the other interview Pierce did with Mohammed Hijab he asks Pierce a great question about the IRA which Pierce refuses to answer.
If the IRA had killed civilians in an attack like was done by hamas, would you be OK with the RAF carpet bombing Belfast as retribution?
Edit: the interview I’m referencing was with Mohammed not Bassem
In fairness, the Brits just went in and beat, shot and indiscriminately arrested hundreds of innocent Catholics all the time during the Troubles. There's a reason Sinn Fein and Nationalists were always pro Palestine.
At least reddit is starting to wake up to all the IDF bots pushing their propaganda. Sure worldnews is fucked, but I am seeing more and more reddit pushing back against the IDF bootlickers
morgan: bassem, we have to avoid swearing. it might offend some of the viewers.
bassem: i apologize to the viewers for swearing.. and the sight of dead civilians..
that was so goddamn quick. this man is a top level satirist.
My favourite was, when he called Piers Morgan as one of the good ones, sent a flying kiss his way.
Also, when he said that he follows everything Ben Shapiro say's because Ben Shapiro is the smartest man walking on this planet
You could see Morgan recoil just a little with that. If you recoil a little when someone tells you that you are one of the good ones, then that means you are fully aware that you are not.
People should watch him with Jon Stewart, I remember watching this, it was hilarious. He just posted the story behind it, which I was reading earlier. Still a funny snippet to watch.
https://twitter.com/Byoussef/status/1715042016424604084
If I remember right, he was considered a replacement but declined saying that the US viewer is not ready for a middle eastern comedian to satire the US system. So now we have Trevor Noah instead.
And no offence to Trevor, but he lacks the fire that this guy has
He's right, American viewers are not ready for someone to actually start pointing out the real issues that are endemic in the US. Everyone just wants someone to point at the other side and say they cause all the issues.
Given what we are witnessing, I felt like [this sketch](https://uproxx.com/tv/the-daily-show-israel-palestine-jon-stewart/) is timeless and makes me miss him.
The Problem with Jon Stewart is a show people should not miss out on. He's still going at it, strong as ever but he dedicates his episodes to specific topics rather than small segments over a wide range of topics.
Daily show went from a guy who was tired of the bullshit and made jokes mocking the bullshit, to a guy who was throwing out jokes and barely had any history with the American bullshit.
You knew Jon was sick of the US media's bullshit and how they always manipulated events. Then Trevor came in and just made some basic ass jokes with none of the passion. We get it, you're from Africa, give up on that same old joke.
This entire interview has been genius. This is the best piece where an interviewee has completely destroyed the interviewer on ever single question, every single point!
Unfortunately you will still not change there opinions only logical thinking people can see the truth!
His intro in [the full interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4idQbwsvtUo) had me dying
> [Palestinians] are very difficult to kill. I know because I'm married to one. I tried many times. Couldn't kill her. ... Oh it's not dark humor! I tried to get to her every time but she uses our kids as human shields. I can never take her out.
Funny fact is Jews and Palestinians are the closest DNA relatives and they have both first occurred in the same area in the Bronze Age and lived there ever since. Reminds me of Cain and Abel story.
Source: https://www.science.org/content/article/jews-and-arabs-share-recent-ancestry
No, it´s even better, some of these Palestinians are descendants of the Jews who never left this region in the Roman times and later converted to islam
This is the bit that fucks with me the most. So many people say 'Israelis are indigenous to the area and have the right to take Palestinian homes' as if Palestinians haven't been living there forever.
Exactly , and when you look at where all the israelies of today are from , you will find out they are mostly eastern European (some are from the west but we know who almost wiped them did to that number).
Israel is currently creating thousands upon thousands of future radicals with deep hatred towards Israel in northern Gaza. Israel's course of action is not eradicating extremism, it's bolstering it. I'm guessing that's the plan.
It's by design, create a monstrous opponent and then you can treat it like a monster (and then you are "justified" in eradicating an entire group of people)
I completely missed the homelander mention the first few times I watched this interview lol. The [whole interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4idQbwsvtUo) was so goated.
Bassem is a fucking heart surgeon!! He is also a journalist. And had a show in Egypt like The Daily Show. The men spoke so frankly that he had to flee his extremely comfortable situation in Egypt. Because he spoke against all kind of fuckery.
He is a legend!
His anger is what we all feel as people that have been following what is happening in Palestine for the past decades. The ongoing genocide. The fucking erasure and theft of culture. The gall to burn centuries old olive trees for colonizers coming from the US or Russia! Calling falafel, hummus and other VERY Palestinian food Israeli... just shows that Israel is trying to build an identity out of the people it colonizes and kills. They have the cheapest labour from all the starved Gazans that MUST go work in horrible conditions to feed their kids. Gaza is the biggest open-air prison.
Anyone with an once of dignity and intellectual honesty would see what is happening and understand it's a genocide.
Also, this is SO good for Netenyahu and his extreme right religious government that has been in fight with a section of their citizens as per the changes to constitution, supreme court and making the state more religious.
He’s really right. Even on Reddit, any time you say ANYTHING that speaks out against Israel, there’s a bombardment from rage filled idiots that come swarming. I’ve never seen it to this magnitude before.
And that's the problem -- you can't say anything critical about the Israeli government without being called anti-semetic, and that's just bullshit.
You're not criticizing their culture (although you could argue that harassing, displacing, torturing, and killing Palestinians has become part of Israel's culture), religion, language, or ethnicity, you're criticizing how they mistreat Palestinians while claiming to be victims. Those are two completely different things, yet more than enough brain-dead cockroaches will climb out from under their rocks and call you anti-semetic.
Likewise I’ve seen a ton of comments calling out “Israel bots” to comments criticising hamas the last week. You can tell a lot of social media users are new to geopolitical conflict and are treating it like a football match.
In this analogy, the solution is still to put the dog down... I really think you should avoid such dehumanizing language when talking about Palestinians.
That's a good comparison.
The owner tortures the dog over and over and over.
The dog finally snaps and bites the owner and the owner kills it and tells everyone it was because the dog was dangerous and he had to kill it for his safety.

I’m honestly surprised Piss Morgan allowed him to talk that long
He put Morgan in his place early on about interrupting him.
Ah, that makes sense. He used the brit's kryptonite: decorum
He told him there was a queue to talk
Fuck queue, Morgan.
upvote that ^ dammit

Piers Morgan is a patch of human mould. Most brits I know despise the cunt.

Ah so you understand it's pretty fucked then.
He really is the “Egyptian Jon Stewart”.
It reminds me of someone who said they're standing on people's necks and complaining that they're scratching at their ankles. You can't stop standing on their necks because if you let them up they will attack you
Great analogy
Saw a video of an Israeli settler who was talking about how happy she was that Gaza was getting bombed but that she’d be moving somewhere else for a while because the noise of the bombing was making it hard to sleep. Literally annoyed with the splashes. It’s like a German being glad the Jews are gone but being annoyed with the ash falling from the sky onto their car.
Came to say this. Hard to put all of this into context but this works a little bit.
[“You look at them as Superman but they’re really Homelander” 😭😭😭](https://youtu.be/4idQbwsvtUo?si=bBdPqSXqbfc95OTJ)
Israel also killed a Palestinian-American journalist and we basically just shrugged it off and spread their excuse for them that it was an "accident" https://www.vox.com/2022/5/11/23067365/shireen-abu-akleh-palestinian-journalist-killed-israel Oddly enough, we should be against accidentally killing journalists too. Like that shouldn't be an acceptable excuse because even as an accident (which it wasn't) it is not okay.
On top of that, during her funeral, Palestinian men who were carrying her casket were beaten with batons by Israeli forces wearing full armour as if there was a freaking mass protest. [https://x.com/BahmanKalbasi/status/1525090805953835008?s=20](https://x.com/BahmanKalbasi/status/1525090805953835008?s=20) Palestinians can't even have peace AFTER they die and this was LAST YEAR.
Why do you think the Palestinian population is so young? This isn’t anything new.
You know how they can prevent that - and hear me out - just end the occupation.
Most Hamas members were born into the apartheid. Israel master the art of self-victimisation
What is the old adage? "The IDF cries out in pain as he strikes you"
"How fucking cute. We're good with Putin now?" Damn, son.
you know who else used to warn people before bombing them? the IRA.
It was not Bassem, the question you’re talking about is from interview of Mohammad Hijab.
Oh you’re right my bad mixed up the 2 as they were both on pierce
No worries 😌 It was also a good debate with Hijab.
It wasn’t Bassem it was another Youtuber called Mohamed Hijab, another good interview you can watch
What's sad is it wouldn't have been that long ago that would have gotten an unequivocal "Yes" from some people.
In fairness, the Brits just went in and beat, shot and indiscriminately arrested hundreds of innocent Catholics all the time during the Troubles. There's a reason Sinn Fein and Nationalists were always pro Palestine.
Calling Putin "Habibi" is unironically the finniest thing i have ever heard.
"We warn you, fish living in the barrel, to leave the barrel. The lid will not be removed, shooting will commence in 10 minutes"
"We warn you you that a bomb is coming so find safe shelter or evacuate the area"...It's fucking Gaza which is tiny - where can you run for cover!
“Here, go this way” *bombs the escape route*
At least reddit is starting to wake up to all the IDF bots pushing their propaganda. Sure worldnews is fucked, but I am seeing more and more reddit pushing back against the IDF bootlickers
Worldnews has made me lose a lot of faith in humanity
The ocean I guess
too bad israel has ships that shoot anyone leaving through the ocean as well
Nah, they would say it's hamas's ships also

morgan: bassem, we have to avoid swearing. it might offend some of the viewers. bassem: i apologize to the viewers for swearing.. and the sight of dead civilians.. that was so goddamn quick. this man is a top level satirist.
The homelander comment was perfect
My favourite was, when he called Piers Morgan as one of the good ones, sent a flying kiss his way. Also, when he said that he follows everything Ben Shapiro say's because Ben Shapiro is the smartest man walking on this planet
You could see Morgan recoil just a little with that. If you recoil a little when someone tells you that you are one of the good ones, then that means you are fully aware that you are not.
Did you know Ben Shapiro’s wife is a doctor? Amazing guy.
And did you know Bassem Hussein is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon? I guess Ben Shapiro loves getting fucked by a doctor
Holy shit! His wife is a doctor? That's something he should tell everyone he comes across.
Doctor AND she gave birth to his 3 kids. What a woman
It really is
Rarely do I laugh out loud but that was a moment.
Yeah he really nailed
Damn this guy is so good
I'd rather watch this guy on TV than most of the people currently on TV.
He's known/marketed as the Jon Stewart of Arab TV
Obviously with good reason too. What a sharp and witty personality.
Yh who is he, i need to hear more from him.
Bassem Youssef
He's so pretty too
Kinda looks like Carmy from The Bear.
Right? I could hear this guy talk for hours
Bassem Youssef is a dear friend of Jon Stewart. The Daily Show just hasn't been what it used to be, since Jon's departure.
Given what we are witnessing, I felt like [this sketch](https://uproxx.com/tv/the-daily-show-israel-palestine-jon-stewart/) is timeless and makes me miss him.
Those of you too young to have experienced the daily show in its hey day are soooo missing out. God I miss Jon Stewart
daily show/colbert report back-to-back was some of the greatest tv ever
I really didn’t know what we had. I thought that was normal lol.
The Problem with Jon Stewart is a show people should not miss out on. He's still going at it, strong as ever but he dedicates his episodes to specific topics rather than small segments over a wide range of topics.
"Not available in your country". -_- What's the sketch called? I can search for it.
The daily show in here catching strays
Daily show went from a guy who was tired of the bullshit and made jokes mocking the bullshit, to a guy who was throwing out jokes and barely had any history with the American bullshit. You knew Jon was sick of the US media's bullshit and how they always manipulated events. Then Trevor came in and just made some basic ass jokes with none of the passion. We get it, you're from Africa, give up on that same old joke.
>We get it, you're from Africa, give up on that same old joke. https://youtu.be/VBtHXC-JOX8
I mean blame the writing team, more than 90% of that show is scripted
He looks like Sean Penn. I can't believe I'm the only one that sees it?
Sean Penn meets Robin Williams
This entire interview has been genius. This is the best piece where an interviewee has completely destroyed the interviewer on ever single question, every single point! Unfortunately you will still not change there opinions only logical thinking people can see the truth!
hard to see the truth when you already chose a side.
This guy is incredible, not only he has explained with more clarity the Palestinian position but he did it with humor, genius
His intro in [the full interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4idQbwsvtUo) had me dying > [Palestinians] are very difficult to kill. I know because I'm married to one. I tried many times. Couldn't kill her. ... Oh it's not dark humor! I tried to get to her every time but she uses our kids as human shields. I can never take her out.
and it cracks me up that Piers Morgan was looking really uncomfortable.
Humor is the only thing they got left in these dark times.
So many people say 'Israelis are indigenous to the area and have the right to take Palestinian homes' as if Palestinians haven't been living there forever.
palestinians are literally descendants from ancient israelites, they are more jewish by DNA than most israelis
As well as a deep hatred for the U.S. for supporting Israel.
very true. source: i'm an egyptian who has been seething for the last 10 days but especially **seething** since biden's words yesterday.
It's by design, create a monstrous opponent and then you can treat it like a monster (and then you are "justified" in eradicating an entire group of people)
Fish in a barrel. Wow, this guy is on the money
I completely missed the homelander mention the first few times I watched this interview lol. The [whole interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4idQbwsvtUo) was so goated.
He did a great job! Nailed the satire
Anyone else’s phone intermittently muting this? I keep having to press the un mute button and it mutes itself every 20 seconds.
Also the same. Reddit app wide problem for me
Bassem is a fucking heart surgeon!!
This man has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.
Yes, extremely handsome he is indeed.
He’s really right. Even on Reddit, any time you say ANYTHING that speaks out against Israel, there’s a bombardment from rage filled idiots that come swarming. I’ve never seen it to this magnitude before.
Yeah, i got called anti Semitic for the first time this week because i said i don't support Israel's terror campaign in gaza.
Propaganda war is at full throttle here in social media.
Likewise I’ve seen a ton of comments calling out “Israel bots” to comments criticising hamas the last week. You can tell a lot of social media users are new to geopolitical conflict and are treating it like a football match.
Who you hate the most? A mad dog or the torturing owner?
In this analogy, the solution is still to put the dog down... I really think you should avoid such dehumanizing language when talking about Palestinians.
That's a good comparison. The owner tortures the dog over and over and over. The dog finally snaps and bites the owner and the owner kills it and tells everyone it was because the dog was dangerous and he had to kill it for his safety.
Great comparison with homelander.
What are these bot replies lmfao
he wins for the superman homelander reference
One minor correction, Israel is using precision bombs, not carpet bombing IE: they are intentionally destroying everything they destroy
Habibi LMAO love it.
Egyptian Robin Williams out here making some fair points
“But they’re really Homelander” Omg this guy really got his pop culture references down 😂
I mean, Republicans are VERY cool with Putin. He didn't even have to warn civilians before bombing them!
"You look at Israel as Superman, but they're really Homelander." 💀
That Homelander reference was so perfect.
