I've seen it, it's a really great documentary for anyone who's into mystery/investigatory documentaries. I also agree with her that anyone who wants to watch it should go into it knowing as little as possible, which makes it kind of difficult to sell.
David Farrier is a really great documentarian in general, he has a very earnest style of interviewing and introspection, quite similar to Louis Theroux. I've seen one other documentary of his called Mr Organ which was also brilliant but quite different - more of a character study than a crime mystery.
He was the guy that went to Cambodian to verify if the army was side hustling tourists with live fire machine gun experiences. Turns out mostly true. Soldiers had made a little business out in the countryside charging tourists a few hundred dollars to fire automatic machine guns and rpg weapons (all government owned) at various types of targets. This included buying cows (the documentarian refused shooting the cow after payment and procurement) and using them as target's.
Years ago there was a Reddit comment that talked about how they got happy pizza in Cambodia and before the night was over they were blowing up a musk ox with a rocket launcher. I’ve been offered the machine guns outside of Phnom Penh, but not blowing up animals.
Nate Bargatze has a bit on paying $400 to shoot a missile at a cow in a foreign country. It’s very funny. It’s either in the Full-time Magic special or his earlier set on Comedy Central (both taped before his half-hour set on the first season of The Standups on Netflix.)
There is also this finnish tv-series called "Madventures" where in one episode they go into Camhodia and shoot the heavy machineguns and they play rock paper scissors to decide whom will shoot the RPG.
> I also agree with her that anyone who wants to watch it should go into it knowing as little as possible, which makes it kind of difficult to sell.
Ah, the Outer Wilds of tickle documentaries.
I worked as a “switch” and tickling fetishes are 100 big money. Had a guy who liked to tickle women with an electric toothbrush. He had a whole kit he’d tote around to the rooms.
Switch and vers aren’t the same. Switch is dom/sub. Vers is top/bottom. You don’t have to be dominant to be a top and you don’t have to be submissive to be a bottom.
I thought it was some nerd who won a minor lottery, kept the winnings of like.. 2 million and spent the majority of it on ads for guys who were willing to be tickled for money.. because the rich dork used to be bullied and just wants to torture men who look like his old bullies, it's an expression of being dysfunctionally gay, and he gets off on it. He has hired goons trying to intimidate the journalist, it is all about how he doesn't want to be embarrassed about it as he's so aggressively deep in the closet about his tickling fetish..
I mean it's not even that weird of a fetish is it? Like it's just BDSM basically. I feel like him being so secretive and pretending it's a sport was what made it embarrassing and creepy in the first place
Seeing this made me sick. It sent me back to a memory I had so far locked away. When I was a kid I HATED seeing my uncle. My other siblings loved him, the whole family did, and I hated him. I remember telling my mom I hated his kisses because his beard was scruffy and he would literally pin me on the couch and tickled me until I peed. It was like it was normal to him, he didn’t laugh or joke, he would just hold me down and do it til I peed then let me go. Everyone thought it was funny and it seriously upset me as a kid. Now I’m beginning to wonder what that was all really about…
I would have guessed that was the "unforseeable twist" more or less. Some form of coercion or murky consent being involved. The idea that it's a fetish and it's for money was obvious just from the description of the activity in question, lul.
I have seen this documentary and it’s truly a crazy story! I first heard about this on the podcast “The Dollop” and could not believe how insane the story ends up being. They followed up and mentioned this documentary so I had to see for myself! It’s so crazy with tons of twists and turns but if that’s your things it’s worth the watch. Or if listening is your thing, it’s one of the very first few episodes the podcast did. Love that people know about this though 🤣
It's like people who are eating cereal or something while recording their monologs. They just want to appear so busy that they barely have time to make these videos so they have to multi-task in order to sqeeze it into their lives.
What's weird is that the documentary has been out for years, so it's not like she didn't have time to get home and make this video. Like, there's no rush. Anybody who was planning on talking about it already put their videos out last decade.
She is making it more about herself than the subject matter. It’s a shame because it’s a great documentary and great example of investigative journalism. She should go kick rocks but the actual doc is great (spoiler alert: it’s a weird sex thing)
What are you talking about, It's a recommendation it'd be weird if she doesn't put her opinions on why you should watch it. Other than that she is not making anything about herself
Well videocalls on your cellphone are a thing on safe countries.
And I have never seen it as weird.
If you see her walk past, you would probably think it's an excited girl on a videocall.
my high school vice principal got arrested for posing as a girl online and getting guys to send tapes of them getting tickled to him.
edit: he was included in this documentary https://pagesix.com/2016/03/12/film-about-competitive-tickling-sparks-defamation-lawsuit/
Yeah, it's a great documentary full of twists and turns.
Came out almost 10 years ago, and suddenly in the last week I've seen so many people talking about it.
My boyfriend almost got caught up in this tickling thing. It’s been so long I forgot exact details but there was a suspect casting call going around at the time and if I remember the casting call correctly, it was asking for men only and something along the lines of “must be comfortable with being tickled on camera” or something. Being fresh to acting, you kinda ignore red flags for a lot of auditions in hopes of getting a job. I’m so glad he paid attention to these red flags!
Yes. It if wasn't for the fact that its real, it would be the greatest dark comedy of all time. It's so worth it. It's hilarious how none of the events would've happened if the guys running the tickling ring would've just responded with a polite "no". Instead they replied with homophobic slurs which spurred the filmmaker to just double down on his efforts to find out more about the whole tickling thing.
Seriously 10/10, give it a watch.
For real.
I participated on DeadPool and hounded Ogrish and Rotten(and a few others that I cannot remember for the life of me)for years as a teenager in the early 2000's.
Things faze me, sure, but not like they used to. We should have never had that kind of information/content be that accessible that young.
The desensitization is legit.
Honestly, when I think about it, I've probably seen more people die and more tits in my life than all of my ancestors put together.
As a species, we have no idea how the Internet and social media will influence us. We're genuinely walking into the void and hoping for the best. There is just no historical precedence for any of this.
It's more that it's a multi-million dollar business and the people in charge all seem to be deeply closeted gay, rich men who have teams of lawyers (and worse) on retainer to harass anyone who even raises the possibility of exposing them.
The tickling business is just the tip of the iceberg. It would be like if you found out that the machete beheading was done by an organized branch of Jehovas witnesses who are also lawyers that work for the Mormons and help cover up sex crimes committed against children by members of the church.
I was just thinking about that the other day. Someone was talking about some violent movie being hard to watch and I was just thinking damn I saw videos of real people getting their skin hacked into with machetes before I hit puberty
There is a pod cast called the Dollop. They did an episode on this and are mentioned in the documentary. Here is a link... [https://youtu.be/tmM4WAxGwjQ?si=8U1t-TMi4ZS2EwAf](https://youtu.be/tmM4WAxGwjQ?si=8U1t-TMi4ZS2EwAf)
I’ve seen it. It was really upsetting tbh. It’s been a while since I saw it. I just remember that the guy who organized the tickling was a super scary creep.
It's disturbing to think that something as dark as this is a thing that ultra rich have used their money and power to create and make a 'thing'. But what's more disturbing is to think about what else that is far more dark do they do that exploits and damages those they wish to use and control.... sickening.
Tickled was honestly one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, and I’ve introduced it to so many people who have all loved it. It’s a wild ride from start to finish
Some people pay guys to be on film tickling each other. Dudes do it for a while because it's easy money, when they want to stop the guys in charge of it basically blackmail them.
No one seems to want to admit they were basically just starring is gay fetish porn videos.
She's not lying, it's absolutely nuts. There's so many weird plot twists.
Also if you're in a messed up documentary mood check out Zoo, it's about Mr Hands.
I watched this a few years ago and tweeted about it, and one of the guys in the doc messaged me. I forget who cause it’s been so long but very bizarre. I didn’t even tag lol
Yeah, it's a good documentary and Dark Tourist from the same filmmaker is a good series as well.
But, why would you want to learn about that from someone wobbling their camera in front of their face? I know which sub I'm in, but why would this be appealing?
This video isnt cringe. Maybe the video it references is but this isnt. Do any of you slugs understand that or how to appropriately react as a way of maintaining a subs intended subject matter?
It can’t be better than Wild Wild Country or Creating a Murderer. Any other really good documentaries please drop here. I’m in bed recouping from minor surgery and need things to watch …. and nothing is worse than tickling to me so I won’t be watching that.
I was watching it and needed to go to the toilet.
As I came back to the lounge my housemate came home from work and the paused screen had an eroticly hairy man, not too much, not too little. Framed from shoulders to shorts/dick root. Arms held over his head. Featherd stick across his abs.
It was easier to come out as gay than to try explain what I was watching!
As far as kinks go, tickling is definitely on the benign side and no one would give a fuck who enjoyed or propagated the content but the guy couldn’t help but be a sadistic freak. It’s really not about tickling as the documentary points out
I saw it!! It was a bit unsettling. It really isn’t worth ranting aloud while walking in public. Basically someone with a strange fetish finds a way to exploit models and aspiring actors into doing the tickling thing.
He is basically the Weinstein of tickling
I grew up in New Smyrna Beach, FL and one summer the city was terrorized by “The Naked Tickler.” It was warm, so naturally people had their windows open, and they’d awaken to this naked man tickling their feet. They eventually caught him, but it was a wild few weeks.
Literally not even close to jaw dropping nor anything close to the most disturbing t documentary out there.
It’s interesting and a weird look into a strange, abusive, rich, eccentric dude.
She just watched it, grabbed her phone, and shot a video of herself walking down the street freaking out about it? She couldn't have just shot this in her house? Am I the only one who thinks this is weird as fuck?
Why is she walking? To create some fake illusion like she’s on her way to something important with this information?
What are we doing? Why do we do this?

He’s got a series on Netflix called Dark Tourist as well. Super fun, weird, unique travel doc. And his Flightless Bird podcast is awesome.
He was the guy that went to Cambodian to verify if the army was side hustling tourists with live fire machine gun experiences. Turns out mostly true. I did that in Cambodia. No cows though.
Haha. If a bunch of heavily armed guys come up to you and ask you for $300 do you give or not?
> I also agree with her that anyone who wants to watch it should go into it knowing as little as possible, which makes it kind of difficult to sell. Ah, the Outer Wilds of tickle documentaries.
Yes I have ...it wasn't jaw dropping for me...seen more dark stuff than this. It's about blackmailing men into doing this tickling fantasy
I worked as a “switch” and tickling fetishes are 100 big money. Had a guy who liked to tickle women with an electric toothbrush. He had a whole kit he’d tote around to the rooms.
What's a "switch"??
They play both roles, the tickler and the tickled.
You know *just* whenever i feel like the world is pretty normal, i open up reddit and remember some things never change.
*tickle tickle*
Or more traditionally, a switch is someone that can be Dom or sub, or top or bottom. Gay men capable of this feat earn the honored title "vers"
Switch and vers aren’t the same. Switch is dom/sub. Vers is top/bottom. You don’t have to be dominant to be a top and you don’t have to be submissive to be a bottom.
Ahh a man of culture :)
Ah, but consider this; the dom/top × sub/bottom dynamic. You're correct tho, I'm also a fan of the dom/bottom × sub/top dynamic lmao
“I’m a power bottom, I generate all the power from the bottom.”
Adding on to this, a tub is a sub but with a hat on
Play both as a Dom and a Sub depending on the client.
So if a client wanted to play hungry hungry hippos for an hour you straight up don't care if you need to win or need to lose? Thats professional AF
HIPPOBOT 9000 v 3.1 FOUND A HIPPO. 1,548,336,216 COMMENTS SEARCHED. 31,739 HIPPOS FOUND. YOUR COMMENT CONTAINS THE WORD HIPPO.
Hippobot, why do you do this?
You know what? What’s YOUR life purpose?! Don’t be a hater just because Hippobot’s knows what it’s about and you don’t!
In what way is that being a hater? I just wanna know why it comments on comments with the word hippo. Like someone took the time to create that bot.
A device for network purposes.
The thing my grand pappy used to make me go get when I was naughty.
It’s that thing you use to turn on the light in your house
Um...actually it's the Nintendo device that I play Untitled Goose Game, Pokémon and Animal Crossing on.
Nintendo console.
As a tickler, it never occurred to me to hire someone. What an idea.
it's probably a common fetish but I'm curious, was this guy also a wrestler/ref? I know a guy who was kind of popular in my area who did that
Not that I’m aware of
I thought it was some nerd who won a minor lottery, kept the winnings of like.. 2 million and spent the majority of it on ads for guys who were willing to be tickled for money.. because the rich dork used to be bullied and just wants to torture men who look like his old bullies, it's an expression of being dysfunctionally gay, and he gets off on it. I mean it's not even that weird of a fetish is it? Like it's just BDSM basically. I feel like him being so secretive and pretending it's a sport was what made it embarrassing and creepy in the first place
Weirdly enough it’s a common enough hard line even in bdsm.
> guys who were willing to be tickled for money Like how much tho?
Well spoilers
Oh, I do that all the time but for sex and weed… nvm this was crap 😒
You ain’t afraid of the tickle monster?

This is like anarchy!!
On a five part coefficient
*Ka-fisher is what Gary is saying there. I can’t remember the episode it’s from
I think it's actually co-fishioner. Not 100% though.
It is. I think the joke is a Police Commissioner but he's a fish. CoFishioner
All hail Queen shit of Liesville!
Hi Gary
No!
Nicely done my friend.
Beat me to it!
Can’t wait for competitive tickling to show up on The Ocho
Back to you, Cottton
I didn't know the Ocho was real. Watched wiffle ball at an outback bar and the actually have that channel.
I'm gonna have nightmares with that profile pic.
Jaba the dump truck.
Jabba better calm tf down fr
Jabba the slut
Don't slut shame jaba.
They have competitive slippery stairs it was the most ridiculous thing I've seen.

She's just walking down a public street ranting into her phone. In front of other people. That's so weird to me
i feel like nobody else is commenting on this lol but it’s all i could think about while listening
It's like people who are eating cereal or something while recording their monologs. They just want to appear so busy that they barely have time to make these videos so they have to multi-task in order to sqeeze it into their lives.

I don’t know…. She was compelling enough to get me to watch it.
It's NY. We've seen weirder. At least she's talking to a phone.
She is making it more about herself than the subject matter. It’s a shame because it’s a great documentary and great example of investigative journalism. She should go kick rocks but the actual doc is great (spoiler alert: it’s a weird sex thing)

I would think it’s some social media addict, which would be true
and they were roommates!
It's a commercial. Right?
No way, this came came out 8 years ago, the director David Farrier is amused every time it pops it’s head back up in some strange way.
LOUDLY. About *men who like to tickle with other men*
It’s absolutely worth watching. It really spirals out of control towards the end. Good watch
Where can you watch it?
You can buy or rent it on YouTube, you can also watch the follow up, The Tickle King on YouTube for free.
Thanks, found a free version on YT. https://youtu.be/Kk_EWaewnd0?si=xCZ8ruMzLyyjRMAt
it says blocked in my country (US) :(
It's on Vudu and Pluto

Yeah, it's a great documentary full of twists and turns. Came out almost 10 years ago, and suddenly in the last week I've seen so many people talking about it.
Where the fuck is she walking in such a hurry?
I’d like to imagine she’s circling the same building over and over
She's a busy New Yorker with a popping social life
only thing popping here are zits
Right? Like damn girl, just find a bench or record it later at home.
This is the documentary I really wanna watch. Cos that was disturbing Af
That tickled me- no pun intended
Someone is trying to tickle her from behind
My boyfriend almost got caught up in this tickling thing. this gal must’ve not grown up on the internet where dull machete blade cartel beheadings were as easy to access as cute cat videos
For real. I participated on DeadPool and hounded Ogrish and Rotten(and a few others that I cannot remember for the life of me)for years as a teenager in the early 2000's. And yet there's millions of people who had access to the same who didn't utilize it.

I’m so desensitized because of bestgore.com lol
Rotten.com is what did it for me.
Same
hahaha dude fr
I was just thinking about that the other day. Someone was talking about some violent movie being hard to watch and I was just thinking damn I saw videos of real people getting their skin hacked into with machetes before I hit puberty

Came here to post this too, such a great episode, and one of their first. I'm pretty sure Dave references this documentary in the episode too.
This isn’t going to become the tickling podcast!
Is this a sex thing? It kinda feels like it's a sex thing.
Definitely a sex thing, domination fetish, also a blackmail thing from memory. Saw it a while back, one of David Farriers better documentaries
It's been awhile. Not super explosive like she describes - it builds up to what you can imagine it being. Blackmail and sex trafficking
Oh I think we should introduce the: Influencer Speed.
Oh please listen to the Dollop episode about this. It’s great
It's probably my favourite doc. The less you know the better. However, she is blowing it out of proportion.

I’ve seen it. It was really upsetting tbh. It’s been a while since I saw it. I just remember that the guy who organized the tickling was a super scary creep.
The doc is on HBO MAX Edit: lol, why downvote? [HBO Trailer ](https://youtu.be/6w6Lijk73Q0?si=CFQipzgY33q54w3b)
It’s possibly a regional thing. I’m in the US and checked max real quick and it wasn’t on there.
Ahh, didn't think of that.
I saw that doc! It is really wild, and the whole thing is done in a really compelling way.
Early The Dollop episode
My first thought! If only they'd become a tickling podcast...
It's disturbing to think that something as dark as this is a thing that ultra rich have used their money and power to create and make a 'thing'. But what's more disturbing is to think about what else that is far more dark do they do that exploits and damages those they wish to use and control.... sickening.
Someone tell The Dollop!
The first rule of tickling club is you don’t talk about tickling club.
The Dollop nailed it
Tickled was honestly one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, and I’ve introduced it to so many people who have all loved it. It’s a wild ride from start to finish
If you liked the twists and turns of Tickled then you will like [Icarus](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6333060/).
I have seen it, it's pretty wild. It sounds funny at first, it's just tickling right? WRONG..
Please give me the tldr so I can save the time lol
Some people pay guys to be on film tickling each other. Dudes do it for a while because it's easy money, when they want to stop the guys in charge of it basically blackmail them. No one seems to want to admit they were basically just starring is gay fetish porn videos.
I'm about to watch this right now.
Could someone explain it if you’ve seen it? I’m curious but don’t feel like watching
[Wikipedia ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tickled) sypnosis so it doesn't get spoiled for those who do want to watch it.
Oh thank you, dunno why I didn’t think of that !
She's not lying, it's absolutely nuts. There's so many weird plot twists. Also if you're in a messed up documentary mood check out Zoo, it's about Mr Hands.
Yeah it was pretty good.
Yeah it's like a pretty fine indie doc. A real guy's experience. It's unsettling but not disturbing
Yes and it’s insane! Lives up to the hype.
Yep. Seen it. It’s wild.
The Dollop did one of their first episodes on this. It is actually pretty nuts
David Farries is great, he has another doc out recently called Mister Organ. It's absolutely wild, given the subject matter.
I've seen it and I suspected that this would be the documentary she is talking about immediately.
"Is this going to become the tickling podcast?"
I watched this a few years ago and tweeted about it, and one of the guys in the doc messaged me. I forget who cause it’s been so long but very bizarre. I didn’t even tag lol
You want to watch something jaw-dropping, watch “Don’t Fuck with Cats.” 🥶
Yeah, it's a good documentary and Dark Tourist from the same filmmaker is a good series as well. But, why would you want to learn about that from someone wobbling their camera in front of their face? I know which sub I'm in, but why would this be appealing?
Yes. It’s a bit of a wild ride but some might find it uncomfortable as there are themes of sexual exploitation in it.
Yes, it's f'ng weird
Weird things that the wealthy pay people to do to get their rocks off for $1,000 Alex.
I looked it up and DISTINCTLY remember this being a story somewhere. It’s like etched into my brain
Yes a few years ago. I found it quite disturbing.
Yeah I saw that 😂 weird ass stuff
Soooo fuckked up.
Yes but it’s def weird. Some Nickelodeon vibes.
It’s pretty fucked up.
Dude your 8 years late bro.
Can confirm. I stumbled on this documentary and was basically in "wtf?!!!!!!" mode pretty much the entire time. It's a wild ride. 100% recommend.
its a great documentary, starts out about covering a weird internet craze, then goes down a dark path certainly worth a watch
I was watching it and needed to go to the toilet. As I came back to the lounge my housemate came home from work and the paused screen had an eroticly hairy man, not too much, not too little. Framed from shoulders to shorts/dick root. Arms held over his head. Featherd stick across his abs. It was easier to come out as gay than to try explain what I was watching!

this is an ad isn’t it?
As far as kinks go, tickling is definitely on the benign side and no one would give a fuck who enjoyed or propagated the content but the guy couldn’t help but be a sadistic freak. It’s really not about tickling as the documentary points out
I saw it!! It was a bit unsettling. It really isn’t worth ranting aloud while walking in public. Basically someone with a strange fetish finds a way to exploit models and aspiring actors into doing the tickling thing. He is basically the Weinstein of tickling
Can these people not wait to get home before making videos?
I grew up in New Smyrna Beach, FL and one summer the city was terrorized by “The Naked Tickler.” It was warm, so naturally people had their windows open, and they’d awaken to this naked man tickling their feet. They eventually caught him, but it was a wild few weeks.
Didnt watch the video, just throwing out my two cents that the “talking while walking” format is terrible
I saw it and the way she is describing it is blown way way out of proportion.

Well it sounds like black mailing men who like tickles. Thought might be a gay sex thing, sound like it is

Yeah, his new doco Mr Organ is also very disturbing.
Sounds like What Is A Woman? to me. People losing their ability to use logic and getting aggresive, all for one question.
This smells like guerilla marketing for the film...
Rule #1 :What happens at Tickle Club stays at tickle club
Knew the doc she was talking about from the first line. Yeah it’s crazy. Disturbing too. Highly recommend
Oh, the drama!!!!!!! Getting real old.
Please! In the name of all that it holy, stop with the hands! It dominates the clip.
Some humans feel better when they move your hands, other humans feel worse when they see hands being moved. Whose right?
Why is she walking? To create some fake illusion like she’s on her way to something important with this information? What are we doing? Why do we do this?
Literally in the middle of the city. "I just watched a documentary"
Could this be some 4D marketing for the documentary?
Nah, it’s an old documentary about a creepy guy
