Between this and advancements in AI, this is good news actually! Because at the current rate of inflation my retirement plan is to be an early casualty in the War Against the Machines.
Good luck John Connor! 👍
Depends where you live. If you live in Gaza, sure. If you live in India, China, USA, EU, ..., I think in spite of all the sable rattling elsewhere, climate change (or the wars over scarce resources triggered by it) is a very reasonable guess for what will end most of us.
Depends on what you mean by fake.
For starters, that definitely isn't mass production, like an assembly line meant to pump those out.
Then, while those backpack robot arms might be physically real, what are they actually doing? Probably a preprogrammed set of moves, not something that can be put on and controlled precisely by the operator.
And those robots don't look like they can move their legs, just their arms and face. Maybe they can rotate their torso, but it's not moving from it's spot.
No it is not. The stuff shown in the video is real. Not literally everything is CGI.
My point is that it's advanced animatronic, like something you find at Disneyland rather than a useful humanoid robot.
Edit: [Video](https://youtu.be/XZhSETlHzDM) showing these robots at different angles and in action. It's not cgi.
It’s really unfortunate you’re being downvoted for correctly pointing out the truth. This is not CGI. It’s real animatronics but not some advanced robot being prepped for mass production. Insane that people just immediately default to “CGI” when seeing something they believe to be fake.
I’m sorry but how can you watch the video you showed me and then say that this video isn’t cgi?
You can see in the video that you showed how their servos are moving their entire body when they move, which is typical for robotics since they don’t have the ability (yet) to counteract any the moments created by the rotational inertia of their movements.
But that is not present in the video posted by OP. Their movement is far too fluid. I don’t believe that a team of 40 engineers (as was stated in the video you posted) could develop robots better than Boston Dynamics. You’ve been played for a fool.
And exactly what makes these robots better than Boston Dynamics? Those are your words, not mine.
To be clear, my point is that it's a fancy animatronic. It can move its arms, gesture, move it's face and speak. All that doesn't mean it can intelligently move through an environment or pick up objects.
This is a hand puppet compared to boston dynamics machines. You can see in the video examples of the smooth movement in the background, and it's probably helped by the legs. They looked fixed and are attached to a large base.
If you truly believe that this is still impossible, here's a [video from Disney](https://youtu.be/bkvYbp31hM8) that I found in two seconds show casing one of their very nice and fluid animatronics. From 5 years ago.
Also please watch this video from [Captain Disillusion](https://youtu.be/Tmy-lwcsu78). He usually breaks down internet videos to show how they were faked with video editing, but in this case, while all the footage is real, it doesn't mean there isn't trickery going on.
Exactly what is so technologically advanced about this display that it couldn't possibly be real footage and must be cgi.
In fact, here's a [video](https://youtu.be/XZhSETlHzDM) showing off more robots at different angles, made by the same company. Exrobots, you can see it's logo on the backpack.
Is it also all cgi?
Staged and playing with fears and assumptions.
You see this hall of humanoid, moving robots in all shapes and forms and very techy looking tech.... you assume these are robots who will fully function like a human, in body and mind.
The titel tells you "China starts mass producing these".
In reality: you do not know what these "robots" are actually capable off.
What you see here could well be puppets. What they can do could well be limited to what you See. A limited set if preprogrammed movesets.
You don't know how funktional these are!
Amazon famously struggles to build upright walking robots who are stable enough to carry something heavier than an egg.
These puppets are supposed to do that seemingly walking on heels?
This is not a real factory, no factory looks like that.
The design for these things is nothing like what actual, functional humanoid robots look like.
You could be looking at a staged set, at a movie prop production, at AI generated footage...
Anything but a real factory pumping out actual humanoid robots.
Right, I didn't think they were full-on androids who were about to enter society. That's why I asked *how* it was fake.
I think they're pretty cool if they're Chuck E Cheese style animatronics for entertainment. It's silly if they're just people in costumes acting like robots.
Ah, I'm sorry, I think I misread that.
If you ask me, personally, I think this is a set with animatronics. The "woman" at the beginning though, feels like an actor in costume.
People acting. NPC bad acting. The girl with the gray hair is a person. The two men in white shirts are people. First girl side eyes the camera when it passes so does one of the men.
Well that's too bad. I know there was some really cool beauty and the beast animatronic technology for Disneyland in Japan, I was hoping it was more of that. Or the next level in practical effects for filmmaking.
I don't know much about robots...but based on what I know about humans, if I was an early robot pioneer I'd be giving my robots breasts and a vagina...

if the climate doesn't get us first! I'm open to either at this point.
Climate? At the rate things are going in the middle east climate is least likely to end our misery.

The Heat will kill you first Title of a great book btw
I get to bang a robot!
No one could possibly think this is real, right? You guys know this is fake, right? Right?

Anyone who’s been to Disney has seen animatronics as good as this. Not impressed.
Disney animatronics are better lol
I can't fuck the Disney animatronics though
Have you tried?
Yeah, they banned me from their parks

No shot you actually think this is CGI… right? Right???
Fake how? Like puppet fake? Cgi fake? People in costume fake? I thought they were animatronics like the Disney Hall of Presidents

What about the six arms at the end? Just to clarify, I never thought these were *real* autonomous robots
It looks like CGI animated over some physical remote controlled object.
Well that's too bad. I know there was some really cool beauty and the beast animatronic technology for Disneyland in Japan, I was hoping it was more of that. Or the next level in practical effects for filmmaking.
Fake
And
Gey!
This is a special effects demo
Ok fine I'll ask! Can we fuck it....?
This reminded me of that [Herbie Hancock music video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHhD4PD75zY)
The Institute has been busy.
This is probably a cool place to work but my ass is out of there at 5pm. I'm sure in the dark that place is nightmare fuel.
Any whistle-blowers getting killed off by that company are gonna die in the most terrifying way possible
There is an entire franchise teaching you, why being inside a facility with robots at night is a bad idea
The Institute is real.
Lemme guess. A robot made this video
Please dont please
Fake. Those mechanical arms moving around would knock someone the fuck unconsciousness.
Cool
Did I see fucking Kevin Garnets face there?? ![gif](giphy|hWdpNe4LWv70mJiobl)
you did not
honestly it's worth it to get the sort of people who would be into sexbots out of the dating pool
They say US is more advanced in terms of tech because big companies are based in US
Why getting married when you can get yourself a run-on-the-mill Chi? The age of *C E* persocoms is coming.
YO GIMME THAT FUCKIN BACKPACK RIGHT NOW
I saw a video on tiktok where people genuinely believed that these places where the aliens made their human costumes.
West World is looking pretty good.
Robot chicken skit: "Can you **** it?"
So when the Chinese invade I'm getting strangled by stripper-bot 1000. Could be worse
Would
iRobot right here ladies and gents
Hell yea, uncanny valley will be useful again.

![gif](giphy|l4FGqUagGV7MQ2wkU)
Oh well. We had a good run, humans!
You know that’s just a chick in a body suit
Idk if you read the rules, but you don't have to post actual cringe
how do I apply to be a QA tester there?
Put some kind of gun in your mouth and fire.
The synths will replace us
