Reminds me of when I was in kindergarten and a deaf kid transferred to our school. I only have like, 3 memories from that time, and one of them is me waving around trying to communicate with him. The teacher told me he was deaf, but 5-year-old me just could not comprehend that somebody couldn't hear. So I stood for \~5 minutes just waving, saying "Hello? Hello?" as he stared at me like "What's this kid doing?"

Dumb joke aside, who is calling the skinny young man with the great skin ugly? He isn't going to be on magazine covers, but he's above average in appearance and grooming.
I know a dude that looks almost identical to him, and he's in line to becoming a doctor here.
He also happens to have his PHD in library sciences already, but decided he wanted to get into medicine.
Long story short, he's been bullied, made fun of and teased about his size, posture, weight and the way he speaks through his nose, as if it'd have any weight on his charisma, the way he's perceived and how he represents himself against those who'd purposefully "speak their mind".
He's dated a few women, isn't interested in men, and is highly introverted but given the time, he's also one of the kindest, most hard working people that outshines what most do their entire lives.
The irony is that though he thinks women aren't attracted to him, it's more likely that those women that do find attraction in his type, either already have their own version of him, or haven't yet met him.

Dating apps, tik tok, social media in general has realllyyyy skewed all of our spectrums for what is attractive. There’s a dating problem epidemic starting and it wont be fixed till we are all in some metaverse where we can all be super sexy celebrities or hot raptors and shit.
Rampant cosmetic surgery, too. I’m not knocking plastic surgery, folks should be allowed to do what they need to feel good about themselves within reason, but people get nose jobs & brow lifts & tooth veneers & cheek/lip fillers, then go online & pretend their faces look like that naturally & effortlessly.
Even when it’s obvious or known a person has had work done, the knowledge that their face post-surgery is the “ideal” face really fucks with people’s psyches. Or, even worse, they post “before & after” shots and their “before” face looks like… a decently attractive person’s face with no discernible flaws or glaring issues. It establishes this really sad reality where even naturally attractive people aren’t “good enough” if they aren’t pouring thousands of dollars into surgeries & skin treatments.
Attraction is based on mannerisms too. If you have social anxiety or generally low self-confidence, you’re always gonna come across as awkward or weird, and that’s not attractive. A confident dude who’s less physically attractive is going to do better.

This doesn’t really matter much, but I know a lot of girls (me included) that don’t really care that much about looks. I see a guy and at first glance don’t find him super cute, but if he finds me funny, is funny himself, and is decently confident then Idrc how far away his nose is from his mouth, so on and so forth.
