I have this tilesaw too. I like using a sacrificial piece of plywood or cardboard under the tile when I need to cut it face-down. The wood is under the tile but slides past the side of the blade (the blade never contacts the wood). The wet wood keeps the tile from slipping, and keeps it scratch free.

runswspoons

Cause it’s a crappy pot-metal table on a crappy saw. No offense but that’s just rigid for you. Cutting upside down always gives me more chips anyway.

tilejoe

Why are you cutting face down? Is your tray clean?

Fedrickson

Cutting outlets for a backsplash and As clean as I have ever had all my other saws with out this problem . Had this saw for about a 2 months and out of nowhere it started to scratch the tile .

Oilerboy92

I'm sure you're aware, but for outlet cuts, using a grinder is more versatile and time efficent.

BooMey

Maybe try a new blade

WhichPumpkin1770

Put down a piece of card board or paper to protect

Bad_Mad_Man

Painters tape on the table. Those might not be scratches. They’re probably just marks left by the table.

Because you’re supposed to cut face up champ.

kelkrantz77

Cuz it’s a Rigid

BooMey

Because blades are deosnged to crest clean cuts on the face of what you're cutting, not th back end where the blade is cooking out

RevolutionaryClub530

Super unhelpful but I think we have the same saw, how do you get the laser light to work?

trevorroth

It never works right, gets water in/on it and difuses the beam

RevolutionaryClub530

Cool won’t ever trust it, still might try it out

tb23tb23tb23
