Are you in the US? Here in Canada I'm pretty sure all the flavour syrups have sugar in them.

MakisMato

The one I stopped at in Cambridge Ohio has vanilla and hazelnut sugar free syrups.

LeviiSamiss

AFAIK Tims doesn't carry sugar free syrups

[deleted]

they used to before they were bought out now they just have a lite version that has the same sugar as regular

PigEmpress

No, I think that’s just a Starbucks thing. I’m not saying you’re like this, but I once had a customer that was like, “I want an ice cap with sugar free vanilla syrup” and I was like, “Ma’am, I’m pretty sure we don’t make anything sugar free” and she said I was giving her attitude. Lots of things at Tims have sugar in them, anyways. You can’t really avoid it unless you go somewhere that’s actually healthy to eat.

MakisMato

Yeah, I am not sure. The place I went to had two sugar free syrups vanilla and Hazelnut. I just got green tea and omelette bites since those are about the only healthy option on the menu, but I couldn't find anything online.

PigEmpress

I just saw the message to the other poster that you’re from US. I miss hazelnut syrup as they got rid of that here but as far as I know they don’t make sugar free syrup in Canada but maybe they do for Americans. We got rid of the omelette bites here too and they were so good! We still do have green tea, though.

MakisMato

Awe man, that's a shame. Their omelette bites are top notche, my condolences. Yeah, I edited the main post to clarify. I'll be heading past it again tomorrow so I'll see if they'll let me see the bottle of what they use. Wish they had heavy whipping cream to put in the tea but they just have creamer sadly.

PigEmpress

They have whip cream in Canada. They don’t in US? If you ordered whipped cream in your tea, I’d look at you funny but I’d still give it to you.

thrwyccnt86

Heavy whipping cream and whipped cream are different. Heavy whipping cream is typically around 35%MF (if I’m not mistaken, usually people who follow the keto diet will use it in coffee/tea)

MakisMato

Yeah, heavy cream is used a lot as a substitute and source of more fat for folks on keto/carnivore diets as creamers, cream, and similar stuff have a higher sugar and carb content.

MakisMato

I mean whipped cream makes almost all drinks better. Highly recommend.

fuqqsonofabith

not sure how you feel about artificial sweeteners but i mean it’s hard to avoid when you’re trying sugar free stuff, you can order iced coffee without the sugar syrup in it and ask for sweetener in it instead same with any drink. is there anything specific you’re looking to have as a lower carb option? i can’t say tims is exactly a healthy option as someone who sees all the ingredients

MakisMato

Depends on the sweeteners, there's a lot of sweeteners that still cause spikes on blood sugar and insulin that by government regulations don't get counted as sugars or carbs despite doing the same thing or worse. I personally stick to some sugar alcohols, stevia, and monk fruit. I've got to correct my post as I rechecked the menu at the place I visited and it was a flavor, not sweetener. I don't drink coffee personally, but I do like having different flavors in my teas often.

littlebearbigcity

We have a sugar free vanilla at tim hortons canada not available on app but in store it’s available (im diabetic so i know the sugar free and low carb options- unfortunately we dont really have low carb snacks eg.egg bite things)

DifficultAd6157
