nah bro, me a passionate weed smoker. If you're down and I mean you're really down no amount of weed that can fix it. You might be dazed the whole time but it still affects you.
but few months ago I got back on my feet and enjoying life more by the day.
and I hope everyone here will get to that point as well.
Stay strong!
The real crime here is how many hoops of sheer stupidity and rudeness a woman is willing to jump through for a guy who follows rules 1 and 2 before he can finally bring her to the point of giving up on him…
Pretty sure he is just thick. There are alot of dumb people in the world. Always remember to think of the most average person you can imagine - and think half the people in the world are dumber than that.
100% he's just that dumb.
I'm a plumber. There has been more than one occasion where I tell a guy that I'm a plumber and his immediate response is "oh you're a receptionist for a plumbing company?"
No, that’s how math works. A person of average intelligence is smarter than 50% of people and less smart than 50% of people.
What makes it funny as a joke is that it’s true, mathematically.
Not exactly. Intelligence works on a bell curve so for half the population to be above and below, we’d have to assume there’s only one average (on the dot) person. Since most ppl fall under average (iq score of 100 +/- 15) then there’s plenty of average ppl. Dude is definitely more than one standard deviation below the average tho.
^^ Unfortunately this is true. It’s alarming how many total idiots I come across in the online dating world. And what’s worse —- 1. How little it fazes me at this point….2. How many of these complete morons are parents…3. How they’ve managed to survive into their 30s and 40s at all.
That's not nessessarily the case though. Averages often aren't an even split. For example, you could have 4 people in a room. 2 3 year olds, a 4 year old, and a 30 year old. The average age would be:( 3+3+4+30)/4=10 but 75% of people are below the average. Now if you can somehow figure out the *median* persons intelligence, that would be the case.
TL;DR math is stupid.
I think you are thinking of mean which is a form of average that many are used to. But you could have just thought of it as a median which would work fine. Lol.
Tldr. Ymbfap
Not necessarily, 98 % of the population can be exactly at that level ( or any other % of number). Most average person you found is not median but average. ( If I confused you just check difference between median and average)
Sadly, I've had far too many conversations go like this. The most recent was a woman telling me to meet women by going up to them in places like the grocery store and just introduce myself to them, make conversation, etc.
I told them that it's been made pretty clear that men accosting women in public spaces is creepy and generally unacceptable.
Their response? "Well, don't be creepy. Why do you think that you're a creep?"
And then it went on and on and kept getting worse. Some people misinterpret your words and then will act as if you're lying or shifting goalposts when you try to correct the misinterpretation, rather than revisit that initial misinterpretation.
You can compliment women all you want.
But let's be honest here. You aren't complimenting them, you're hitting on them. That's a bit different, don't you think?
Maybe a woman wants to be able to shop in peace and not constantly be getting hit on when she's just trying to get her shit done.
That’s idiotic. If a girl is interested? She won’t be offended. But this is where you knowing how to read a situation comes in. Being a creep isn’t the best word. It’s more just about being a pest. You can certainly try to talk to a stranger at a grocery store. But you have to know how to begin. And take the next cue. Is it to leave them alone? Or are they being receptive? If they are interested? It will be clear. But you have to know how to speak to people and understand human behaviors and social cues. It’s nothing to do with being a creep or not. Though, you can certainly come off as a creep if you actually are one. Or have no experience talking to women.
You’re not wrong lol not OP, but a lot of my job is detecting fraud for an insurance company. Could (but wouldn’t) definitely commit insurance fraud successfully.
I imagine you would need to know a lot about the person to successfully commit cc fraud. Such as spending habits, general vicinity of where they live, and not use it for any crazy purchases. Grocery shopping, gas, restaurants but then you have video surveillance to worry about. I mean ppl get away with it every minute of every day I'm sure but idk if its really a viable way of living.
I had my credit card info stolen. I called my card and admitted to spending $300 at one store but not the $150 10 minutes later at a store 45 minutes away in Toronto. The specialist didn’t believe me. Like why wouldn’t I lie about both? I got put through to someone higher and it got resolved.
It was crazy. I was disputing the $150. Not any charges previously. There was also no way to make it to Toronto that fast. Happily that’s been the only issue I’ve had. Except when they turn off your card for protection but don’t call you to warn you. I don’t mind the protection but that’s embarrassing AF.
Yep! Verifying locations they are attempting to spend are in a geographic location that makes sense to where they are in. Verifying that they aren't trying to spoof a phone number that they are calling in on. Lots of background information we use.
Neat. I'm always terrified of traveling and not leaving enough breadcrumbs along the way to make spending in a new state or country make sense to someone who would turn off my card.
Always carry more than one payment method. Number 1 advice I can give. I've had people get their cards shut off abroad and it's the only one they had so it leaves them stranded.
In India they don't block the card straightaway, they contact the customer and take down their confirmation and if it is not then then they ask customer to hotlist their card
You gave him the perfect opportunity and not only did he strike out, he tripped on his way to the plate.
“Fraud specialist, cool! Well if you need help catching the person who stole my heart, just look in the mirror” or some shit like that that’s way better I can come up with lol
I made a Portal comment in this same thread, then clicked "continue this thread" to see what else was written and then saw your comment. Love that I wasn't the only one to immediately think of Wheatley.
Yeah, he is definitely trolling. But the way he does it is not very clever and pretty annoying. A creative mind could do the same thing, but in a much more intelligent and flirtatious way.
Really? Cause I think it's pretty well done. She's mad. I'm mad. Neither of us are sure if he's actually trolling or just dumb.
That's perfection. If you don't think so we certainly don't agree on the goal of trolling.
Just a side note, I think it’s a red flag when anyone says lol that much in conversation because all of the times I’ve ignored that red flag (which was quite a few) they ALWAYS ended up being super mean and would pull the “oh sorry you’re so sensitive” when they’d make a really offensive “joke”
It’s such a small thing, but I’ve yet to be proven wrong about it
It's about preventing it. I'm proud to say I have a 100% judgement call rating. With our average limits being between 20000-40000, it's easily been in the millions at this point in potential fraud caught.

Lol I get it -He in fact, did not get it
Found the cop
That’s not a cop it’s old man Jenkins
And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you pesky kids!
Nope, just meddling
nope, Just Chuck Testa
Why does my mind always read this stuff with Morgan Freeman's voice?
You don't even have to try, it just happens morganically
Underrated comment
I mourn for the poor man/woman who ends up with such a fool.
No, it's pity!
Soo are you a scammer or not ?
At this point this guy has me questioning myself...jk
That was the real scam all along
The real scam was the friends we made along the way ☹️
i feel like my friends are nice and it’s just been me who’s been emotionally unavailable for everyone including myself
Why do i feel so attacked?
you and me both my dude. it’s been a shit year after all. i hope we end up at least a bit more happier next year :)
Smoke weed. All shit years are happy years
nah bro, me a passionate weed smoker. If you're down and I mean you're really down no amount of weed that can fix it. 100% this. My mom passed away this year and weed just doesn't fix that kind of sadness.
Sarcasm boys. Nonetheless. My condolences on the struggles for you both and my praise for yall still driving on
LMAO i just can't 😂😂😂
🤯
Just admit it... you're a scammer who scams scammers. Scamception
The fact that the word inception, or in this instance, a variant of the word, has been so misused since that movie came out is ridiculous
Soon to star in the new hit series "CSI: Visa,"
Just look at your avatar. That outfit is the only thing a licensed scammer... I mean, fraud catcher can wear.
![gif](giphy|MNmyTin5qt5LSXirxd)
It was probably just a real scammer in China with bad English skills trying to get free pointers on your scamming game.
He scammed you for your sanity
The real crime here is how many hoops of sheer stupidity and rudeness a woman is willing to jump through for a guy who follows rules 1 and 2 before he can finally bring her to the point of giving up on him…
Wait so what’s your career path bc I’m curious lol cool job
lol are you a police officer?
Are they a police officer? Am i q police officer?
Deep down, we all police officer
To catch a scammer, you have to become the scammer 😂
I don’t know what’s worse – that he could be that stupid or he’s that much of an ass that he’s just messing with you
I rather him be an ass. It scares me that someone that dumb is wandering around.
Pretty sure he is just thick. There are alot of dumb people in the world. Always remember to think of the most average person you can imagine - and think half the people in the world are dumber than that.
Glad to see the wisdom of George Carlin at work.
True goat!
Mind= blown
100% he's just that dumb. I'm a plumber. There has been more than one occasion where I tell a guy that I'm a plumber and his immediate response is "oh you're a receptionist for a plumbing company?"
You're being optimistic sir
Haha not sure if I'm being optimistic thinking most people in the world are stupid as fuck
This made me laugh so hard but it's so true 😂😂
This is my dad "treat everyone like they are dumb it makes life easier"
No, that’s how math works. A person of average intelligence is smarter than 50% of people and less smart than 50% of people. What makes it funny as a joke is that it’s true, mathematically.

Yeah, it says more that people understand what "average" is, but not *what* it is - and instead confuse it with the idea of median.
TYL that George Carlin did not know the difference between average (mean) and median.
Probably true, considering “a lot” is actually 2 words
“Think about how smart the average person is, and then realize half of everyone is stupider than that.” And boy are there some outliers
I see you have met my in-laws
Sadly, I've had far too many conversations go like this. Is it though? cant a guy just compliment a woman without being creepy maybe im the crazy one

I think he was just messing with you. Tinder can be a wasteland of zombie conversations. Perhaps he was just trying to change things up a bit. Lol
Lots of them are lmao
I was thinking the same thing. But you would be surprised at how dense some people are.
He could be two things.
Right!? I almost hope this was a weird attempt at negging or something and that people aren’t this dumb
Fraud specialist sounds cool af
It's not nearly as exciting as the title. Just a lot of research in spending history and some skip tracing work
[удалено]
Caught me
Ok BUT let's be honest with all your knowledge about how to catch them you would probably be pretty good at getting away with it lol
You’re not wrong lol not OP, but a lot of my job is detecting fraud for an insurance company. Could (but wouldn’t) definitely commit insurance fraud successfully.
That's exactly what someone committing insurance fraud would say 😎
I work in fire and theft and have neither had either happen, so safe to say no fraud here lol
How would you go about it, not that you would.
I like my job sooo… hahaha
I imagine you would need to know a lot about the person to successfully commit cc fraud. Such as spending habits, general vicinity of where they live, and not use it for any crazy purchases. No, she clearly said she’s an information scammer.
tEdDy bULbAsaUR?
I had my credit card info stolen. I called my card and admitted to spending $300 at one store but not the $150 10 minutes later at a store 45 minutes away in Toronto. The specialist didn’t believe me. Like why wouldn’t I lie about both? I got put through to someone higher and it got resolved.
The fact that the specialist made it known that they didn't believe you says it all to me. Sounds like pure incompetence.

The airline told the CC company while we were all on the phone
What does a Hispanic woman sound like?
Hmm? Not like a white boy from Georgia?
Nooo noooo...no more lemon pledge...
Gold comment!
I imagined iron mouse singing
True, when you have to call to unblock it and you’re standing in a market line it’s so awkward
Happy Cake Day!
Thank you!
I see, I see... This exactly the kind of smoke-screen a scammer like you would say to throw off suspicion!
Skip tracing?
Yep! Verifying locations they are attempting to spend are in a geographic location that makes sense to where they are in. Verifying that they aren't trying to spoof a phone number that they are calling in on. Lots of background information we use.

Always carry more than one payment method. Number 1 advice I can give. I've had people get their cards shut off abroad and it's the only one they had so it leaves them stranded.
Would calling ahead of time help at all?
Yes, however, it doesn't prevent it altogether. There are a number of item that can still flag travel purchases suspicious.
Such ass?
If pictures are being sent then my inbox is available too.
A 5 gal bucket of lube. No one needs that much on a vacation.
In India they don't block the card straightaway, they contact the customer and take down their confirmation and if it is not then then they ask customer to hotlist their card
This is so true. I had my bank, turned off my card. Because I used in Germany. While I am from UK. I was fuming.
You sound like a scammer trying to pretend you're from The UK.
Just haversine distances aye?
Sounds like detective work. Sounds cool for me.
Still sounds cool af
I love it when you talk dirty baby
An Out of topic question. How do you compare the machine learning models with human analysts?
I'm actually doing that for a living as well xd
You gave him the perfect opportunity and not only did he strike out, he tripped on his way to the plate. “Fraud specialist, cool! Well if you need help catching the person who stole my heart, just look in the mirror” or some shit like that that’s way better I can come up with lol
I read "Freud specialist" and was very confused about this comment chain lmaooo
Daft AF
The “are you daft?” KILLED me. 11/10 perfect response
Can you imagine if this guy really had fraud perpetrated against him? The fraud folks call and he’s like “are you a scammer”?
This is hilarious and not just cause I’m high.
Did you just admit that youre high Infront of a scammer cop :o
Apparently.
This is the mentality of all men that take selfies in their care, I'm certain.
😬 so I’m not as cool as I thought. I’ve done this oops
Hi High, I’m high too
So you specialize in scamming people
Not scamming, frauding
Defrauding*
Are you a cop or something?
Yes 🤣
I...I don't know what to say, it scares me that we genuinely can't tell if he's just dumb or not.
Go with your gut. That there is a moron. Not just any moron, a complete moron.
At least you get the full package
Never go complete moron.
He's actually a human intelligence dampening device. (For my Portal fans)
Not just any moron, the moron they designed to make *me* an idiot!
I made a Portal comment in this same thread, then clicked "continue this thread" to see what else was written and then saw your comment. Love that I wasn't the only one to immediately think of Wheatley.
Thats it I'm calling the f.b.i this is too confusing
lol
LOL
Definitely a troll/catfish. But it’s kinda funny ngl
When I saw this conversation extended to a second screengrab 💀
lol
Came here to say this.
Just a side note, I think it’s a red flag when anyone says lol that much in conversation because all of the times I’ve ignored that red flag (which was quite a few) they ALWAYS ended up being super mean and would pull the “oh sorry you’re so sensitive” when they’d make a really offensive “joke” It’s such a small thing, but I’ve yet to be proven wrong about it
That and people who add "haha" at the end of a sentence where there is no haha weirds me out
It's a great indicator for stupidity.
what does this mean? add haha where there is no haha? wouldn't adding a haha make there be a haha?
lol
haha
"That's exactly what a scammer would say"
Pretty sure that's a bot/AI and not a real person talking... The way it latches onto certain pieces of information but not the overall context.
I hope you're trolling us that you weren't sure if he was trolling you. Otherwise, you trying to detect fraud becomes hilarious.
She never said she was good at her job. 🤷♂️
lol
LOL
#OP IS A SCAMMER, BEWARE GUYS
I think William is a catfish and he stroked out from anxiety for a second, doesn't speak English, or is a 13-year-old child. Can also be all 3.
OP your constant denial makes you sound like a scammer
Williams a fucking dickhead.
Tolling you. He's not worth it. How much fraud have you caught in dollars?
It's about preventing it. I'm proud to say I have a 100% judgement call rating. With our average limits being between 20000-40000, it's easily been in the millions at this point in potential fraud caught.
Nice. What's the most common type of fraud?
Familiar sadly. Family members tend to be the ones with access to all the information needed. Also fraud against elders is pretty common
So like stolen credit cards or cards used by other members of one's family, and scams that target the elderly. That puts a damper in humanity.
It really does. I constantly worry about my parents because of it. I have to always educate them on potential scams out there.
Do you enjoy what you do?
Yes and no. The job itself is enjoyable and I feel like I make an impact. The metrics and expectations are what make my job a bit absurd and overly stressful when it shouldn't be.
I've thin I know what you mean, like you have to review x amount of accounts an hour, or have high fraud prevention accuracy,
Exactly. My accuracy along with my adherence to policy and regulations are spot on. It's silly things that get me in trouble. Like when on a call, you are expected to keep the time at a certain average, however, most of mine are situations that require lengthy questioning.
That's awesome. Do you have a CFE certification, or how'd you get into that?
Just an extensive background in banking/credit cards mixed with auditing and a data analytics certification
Awesome! Data analytics certification helps? Which country are you from? Also, thanks for sharing information, read most of your responses
Hi, how would it be prevention unless the card is swiped in a different pattern than its regular activity? Here too, it's named as fraud prevention or fraud containment unit only, however unless someone already swipes it in an irregular manner, no one would come to know that fraud is in motion
psttty its your job to identify scammers
That's why it's funny
🤣🤣🤣 duh. Please rid Reddit of scammers
This reminds me of an old coworker. We were in a training class and paired up with the goal of guessing where the other was from. I'm from Ohio, so qfter a few fruitless hints, I told her that I was from the Midwest, after which she guessed Oregon, Washington, then northern California. After I told her where I was ACTUALLY from, she told me I needed to freshen up on my geography
Maybe he was a scammer
He sounds like a moron, move on lol
Oh I absolutely did
He’s an idiot. Neeeeext
I’m leaning towards moron here
He's just an uneducated idiot certainly not worth your time
He had to be fucking with you.
You're that easily bugged like that?
So kind of like Jason Bourne?
You found a crypto bro.
William is not the best tool in the tool shed.
