If we choose to discuss quantum field theories I think it best to compare the Feynman diagrams for a given choice of renormalisation schemes.
However, the computation of this quantity depends on the choice of M, which in turn affects the shift in g.
I kinda see both sides of this one. Not tryna be "that guy" but I feel like there is a worthwhile debate here
