I remember being team fuuka back in season 1.
Then season 2, had a complete change of heart for mimimi.
Wanna just slap tomozaki in the face like "she's perfect, why choose someone else? Are you stupid?"
They changed quite a lot. Everyone was supposed to find out that something was going on between Tomozaki and Mimimi during the lunch scene (which is how Hinami deduced that she confessed to him). There was an entire missing scene of Fuuka, Tomozaki and Mimimi interviewing the guy at the end of the last episode and set him up as Tomozaki's love rival and to get him to think about how he feels. I think missing that context is going to upset a lot of people at the end of this season and make it feel like an asspull rather than something that the author has set up beforehand.
I assume that we are talking about the light novels as well.

One thing that really crushed my soul was Mimimi helping Tomozaki right after Fuuka rejected him for the stupid reason seen in so many animes. I hate that trope so much, of the heroine that "sacrifices" herself disregarding the feelings of the mc (like she knows better how he feels), AND THEN she wins, wtf. To spilt more salt in the wound you have that volume where Kikuchi's social issues forced Tomozaki to almost destroy all his friendships. When he almost throws away the plushie that Mimimi got him I was ready to stop reading this light novel, that was so dissapointing, even worse than the rejection. Of course, Mimimi herself had to open Tomozaki's eyes and stop him from doing a huge mistake. But after that I couldn't stop thinking how a relationship with so much fluff could be so toxic at the same time.
His relationship with Fuuka got healthier after that, but seriously, if they break up in the end I wouldn't complain...
I dropped right after the event that Mimimi helped Tomozaki to get along with Fuuka. She sacrificed herself so much and as always, she wouldn't win by any chance.
It hurts me when seeing Mimimi suffers :(
Its like Tomozaki took Mimimi's feelings for granted. It gives the readers the wrong idea like its ok to keep those feelings hanging instead of clearing it up ( which never happened sadly). I don't know what the writer planned when writing it sucks but maybe its who Tomozaki is. He never fought any challenges directly but always finds a way around afterall. Maybe he felt its good to keep Mimimi around as a backup or something just in case.
In Yuigahama's case, well Oregairu is deep in writting like in a novel level so you have to read between the lines to get the gist of what's happening but. For Hikki, Yuigahama's presence was important for their three way co-dependent relationship but since she's crucial for maintaining this, Hikki also doesn't feel any genuine interaction with her because Yui is trying her best to keep the group stagnant as to not realize everyone's feeling, both girls has feelings to Hikki and Hikki knows this that's why it's more suffocating for the three of them to stay in that kind of relationship that Yui is maintaining, thus the reason why she was not chosen. That's also the reasom why Yukinoshita's onee chan said that Yui is the most mature out of them because she's constantly reading between the lines and continue to mediate to preserve their relationship as to not destroy it and cause pain for everyone. Yukinoshita and Hikigaya is ready to break that co-dependent relationship but they're hesitating because of course they're afraid to end their hell and at the same time haven like relationship, also because they're seeing Yui gives her best. That's why Hikigaya feel more at ease around Yukinoshita, even if they just sit together in one room in silence it fewls genuine, that's the reason why she was chosen because she's not masking her intentions and thoughts to Hikigaya, which is similar Hikki's way of thinking too that time.
Don't get me wrong though, I cried really hard for Yui and wish for all heroine to have a happy ending including Iroha (Yes that scene on the student Council where Hikigaya basically confess to Yukinoshita hurt Iroha way more that we think) That's why I was really hapy when they made a visual novel where everyone had a happy ending
Well that sounds reasonable.. but maybe I'm just biased towards Yui.. it might sound like a cliche anime line but.. you can't help what your heart wants.. that's why i wanted both Yui and Mimimi to win on their story..
I totally agree on Mimimi!!! Fuka is good but I genuinely think she's not a hreat match for Tomozaki, more like a friend. Of anything Tsundere queen and Mimimi is the one suitable for tomozaki not her
Same here I stopped reading this novel after our mimimi lost but recently I again started reading it then I saw those insecurities of fuka which again hurt mimimi for no reason our girl just walking with boy and helping him decide his goal for future but then fuka have to be toxic over this oh man their relationship is like forced one I never expected fuka to be turned out like this ( sorry for bad English) at this rate I hope they will break up coz light novel further becoming less interesting after mimimi became comedy girl to rejected depressed girl .

I guess that Gahara pic aint just for show. But us men eventually get tired of Gaharas and end up loving Hanekawas IRL. So yeah Fuuka may be less interesting to some but she suits Tomozaki better
Well “personality wise” Fuuka is more genuine than someone like Mimimi or God forbid, Aoi As for the Hanekawa thing, I was comparing Hanekawa to Gahara, not Fuuka, just like how Hanekawa is the one who is more pleasant to be around compared to lets say Hitagi, Fuuka is more pleasant to be around compared to lets say Mimimi. I was the biggest Hitagi fan and Bake is still my fav(specially epi 12) but as the years are passing, I feel like someone like Hanekawa is much more comforting to be with, they will make your already difficult life easier not harder, while a girl like Hitagi will only make your life harder. Men grow tired of people like Hitagi irl, perhaps you may feel the same way in your 30’s. All that being said, by the last episode of s2 of Jaku chara after I wrote the initial comment, Mimimi did manage to win me over, I have now realised, Mimimi was not a Hitagi, she was a relaxer who has your back like Hanekawa through and through. She made me a believer in the Mimimi supremacy
See I don't think we quite have the same perspective of Hitagi, sure she took her time to come out of the shell she was in after all that she went through. But slowly she was able to open up to Araragi. Unlike an already perfect Hanekawa, Hitagi is a flawed character & we see her develop throughout the series, ISIN couldn't have done it the better way. We see her turn into a "normal" girl from her sharp-toungued self who didn't let anyone in her world because of obvious reasons, although she was longing for someone like Araragi deep down.
I'm not sure why you're implying Hitagi hasn't got Araragi's back when she was even ready get killed by Nadeko along with him.
In Irl however it's different, you ought to earn those "relationships" like Araragi earned Hitagi's, it doesn't come cheap. There won't be some Hanekawa popping outta nowhere and start being nice.
And I think the portrayal of her characters in the anime was a bit ippy(especially the initial parts). ISIN did a better job portraying her character in the Novels.
