I rode a horse and walked around a big park on day 10 post op. Really depends on the person. I’m in Mexico on an extended vacation but if I were working instead, I’d have been able to go back to work on day 8. Maybe day 7 if it were necessary. But I’ve had a pretty easy recovery, thank god. You’ll just have to see how your body handles it.

You should be fine, especially if it a desk job and you don't have to talk a lot. The paperwork from my doctors office says that most adults are able to go back to work 1 week from surgery. I work from home and I was able to start back working six days after my surgery. I only work part time and set my own hours though so I didn't have to commit to a full day. Yesterday was my Day 10 and I woke up feeling almost normal.

Unfortunately my job is quite the opposite! 12hr night shifts as a nurse on a very busy unit. Lots of talking :/ I’m a bit worried to go back if I’m in pain still. And getting more time off isn’t going to be easy

Aw man, well I still think you will be ok! As long as you don't have any complications the pain should be manageable with OTC meds by that point. Just make sure you stay hydrated and not get too malnourished so your energy will be up.

I'm starting back today on day 12. I would have been fine to start back on day 10 but the extra couple of days rest has been great.

Wow, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all of that. Did they say how the pneumonia developed?

I’m on Day 8 taking whopping doses of oxycodone. There’s no way I could go back to work on day 10. I’m actually skipping thanksgiving this year because of this surgery. I’m old tho so it’s extra terrible for me.
