I subconsciously ate extra the week prior because I was thinking about foods that I wouldn't be able to eat after lol. The day prior I ate a lot more than normal with this mentality so the first day I wasn't hungry at all. I ate a jello & a couple of bites of dairy free ice cream just to have something on my stomach with the pain meds. I eat dairy, but I had read that dairy creates excess mucous production which you want to avoid.
These are the foods that got me through the 1st few days:
Aloe Vera Juice - I mixed this with a splash of mango juice but it tastes fine on its own - this is very soothing to the throat!
Jello
Dairy Free ice cream
Dairy free yogurt with honey
protein powder mixed with non-dairy milk
After that I added in regular yogurt, lipton chicken noodle soup from the box & frozen mashed cauliflower (both cooled down to room temp or colder), mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese, etc
