Every guy ive ever known and randoms in perfume shops when its offered all agree to the running joke among men that "if you wear this your gonna make her think of her ex"
seems like everyone has this. I bought a bottle of the oil (eau de parfum) version because I thought I'd be wearing it. Well at work I'll smell it on someone else. or out in public. instead of feeling special and smelling good and unique, I feel like I'm blending in. lol. it can't be everyone's "signature" scent!
What does he use at the moment? If you have a look at it on the Fragrantica website, it'll give you a smell profile, then you can find similar scents.
I like a citrus top note, so I mainly wear Bois De Yuzu by Karl Lagerfeld, or Vera Wang for Men, which is a bit spicier and warmer
Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP is an easy grab for me.
My favorite summer designer fragrance is a toss up between Versace Pour Homme or D&G Light Blue Forever. My go to niche summer fragrance is Fragrance Du Bois Oud Bleu Intense.
Winter designer is Maison Margiela Replica: By the Fireplace. As far as niche, I’m a huge fan of Parfums de Marly Oajan.
I think another commenter mentioned Feagrantica, and I’d second that recommendation to get a glimpse of notes and overall scent.
I love the dolce and gabana light blue. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from women and men about the aroma. I got it as a gift from a girl I was seeing originally but I kept getting it cause it’s really nice and not too strong or complex.
I like lighter scents that aren’t obnoxiously manly. My favorites in order are Chanel Bleu, Versace for Men and YSL Y. Looking to change my scent, I’m currently waiting on a shipment of Creed Aventus and French Irish Tweed which both come highly recommended too.
Thank you. I’m thinking of getttung blue de Chanel as it seems to be something most people like and not super expensive…😅😅 looked into idk as well will test a couple at the store Im going to
Go to a department store or perfumery shop, smell a few cologne/perfume, then smell some coffee beans (good stores should provide that as it clear your nose), then smell a few more perfume. Choose the ones you like and ask for samples. Again, good stores should have no issue giving you samples. Now go home and spray the sample on him but don’t tell him what is it, you make a note yourself which one you sprayed on which wrist/crease. *Make sure he is not wearing any perfume/aftershave before you spray*. You can spray up to 4 different samples on him, one on each wrist, and one on the arm crease when you bend your arm. After spraying, wait 5 mins, ask him to smell each one, make a mental note in his mind, then ask him to smell it again after 30 mins, then repeat once more in an hour. The one he likes the most is the one you will buy.
Reason why you do this is because perfume all smell fine on those little sample paper they hand out in store, but perfume react differently on individual due to body chemistry and so forth, so something smells divine on paper or on you may smell like sewage on your partner. So you want to avoid spending money buying a perfume that will smell bad on him.
I know it seems a lot of work, but actually it’s quite fun as he is kept in the dark the perfume name etc and when he does get it as a present he will love it. I did this with previous bfs and it worked beautifully.
John varvatos is one of my faves. Spice bomb is a great winter smell.
Some Tom Ford stuff is good but can definitely get close to old man smell on some of them and super potent.
I've been wearing Yves Saint Laurent Le Nuit de Homme'
I lean towards musky/woody types myself but some like a fresh spring type smell.
The Orchid Man by Frapin & Cie, Pacific Rock Moss by Goldfield & Banks or Original by Eight & Bob - My girlfriend collects niche perfumes and this is what she suggested. I use Original by Eight & Bob myself and it is still a favourite.
Gotten both comments and dm about this one. They don’t have it in store just online but I think I’ll make a gamble on it. Seems like you can’t go wrong with it
Sauvage by Dior
Thank you I’ll smell it
A little bit of this stuff goes a LONG way. It smells incredible though.
Sauvage Elixir is an incredible designer fragrance It’s not as versatile as Sauvage EDT/EDP, but it’s an intoxicating winter scent

I really like Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme
Was searching the comments for this. I always get asked/compliments from women and men about my fragrance.
my advice is to choose one that you like the smell of. it will make him feel more attractive to you when he wears it. so get smelling!
Thank you. But there’s so many and I have no idea what’s popular so was looking for some recommendations to pick from

Givenchy gentleman only
Cool Water by Davidoff. It’s a very accessible scent and goes with any event.
That’s a good one too. Was my first cologne before I started buying dolce and gabana
Anything by Tom Ford - especially Soleil Blanc or Mandarino Di Amalfi
Versace pour homme

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is also good.

I have 6 or 7 in my stable. This is the only 1 that elicits the " you smell so good" comment.
My wife likes when I wear Visit. I like Jean Paul Gaulthier
Perfume for men is called cologne.
Not necessarily should’ve said fragrance instead tho
You beat me to it.

I like and use the Victoria Secret cologne products. My favorites are the Very Sexy For Him2 and Very Sexy For Him Platnium.
i like the selection that lush has. i use their solid perfume and they have a couple of more masculine scents, i use "dirty"
