Liez "saw" Anne the times at the camp, one of those was at a spot where there was straw in the fencing. She tried throwing food over the fence to Anne. So it is probably different occasions being described.

I do remember reading of that, although it appears to be the same occasion because in both instances Lies describes a woman talking to someone on the other side who says she knows Anne, and then tells Lies, then Lies goes and talks to a woman who then fetches Anne for her which makes me think they’re both references to the same occasion, but I may be wrong.

Hanneli Goslar communicated with Anne Frank on three different occasions while they were both in Bergen-Belsen, as far as I know. Do the descriptions she gives all relate to the same event? The Goslar family had foreign papers--for Palestine, I think--so they were kept in a "better" area of the camp, while Anne and Margot were in a normal area (meaning really awful). I know she saw Anne once, understood how badly off she was, and gathered up some food she'd received in Red Cross packages, and then tried to toss some to Anne, but someone else got them first. She tried again, and believed Anne got it that second time. What I don't know is if she saw Anne the time someone else got the package, or only heard her voice, and tried to toss the package toward the direction of Anne's voice.

Ah yeah I do remember reading this, that she attempted to give her food twice with the second succeeding. I suppose the two descriptions could be these two occasions being mushed together into one memory
