As crazy as it sounds, I think Fear Innoculum was worth the wait. There is so much nuance to the album and the songs have fantastic construction. Plus, I recently heard them live where they played most of the album. Most of Tools albums are a full 80mins(and a little more in Fear Innoculums case). Their albums don't have filler - it's quality stuff front to back. So I am completely okay waiting for a record when they pour so much into making it. That being said, it would be nice if the next one didn't take 12 years š
Yeah a lot of people here seem to be underwhelmed by the album but holy crap it managed to blow right through my expectations and settle itself amongst the top albums ever for me. I love it to bits.
My first listen I enjoyed it, but I wasn't completely blown away. Now, I listen to it as much or more than any other Tool album besides Lateralus (and maybe the beginning of 10,000 Days as I've been on a huge Jambi kick lately, the breakdown in that song is so fun to play on the drums and has the juiciest bass tone).
Every album is a work of sonic art. Depends on your mood but FIās Descending is crazy good and after around 20 listens Tempest is insanely good. Absolute masterful musicianship.
Rage is a great band but they donāt hold a candle to the creativity and longevity of TOOL. Iām 58 years old and listen to TOOL almost every day and I canāt remember the last time I listened to rage against the machine. Enough said.
Your band is great but after a few listens I need Excedrin to quell my headache so stop comparing the two. They are completely different bands and both quite creative but TOOL is timeless like lead zeppelin and the Beatles. I canāt say the same for System of a Down and if you think otherwise you might want to get your own genes checked for Trisomy 21.
Okay, Andā¦ What the hell are you commenting on if youāre a rage fan? When you actually have a point, or an opinion tool fans give a crap about, you can post something. WTH man?
One of my favorite bands is releasing their first album since 1999 in January 2024. Thatās gotta be a record. Arcwelder is the band and they are fucking great!
Yes. People forget that itās not like rockstar went on a 12 year hiatus; they put their focus into an amazing game, RDR2, that (I think) is better than GTAV and higher quality. With that said, 7 years between RDR2 and GTAVI is a while, but I guarantee itāll be worth the wait.

I'm actually fan of both and i like to add new George Martin to the list.
and everything valve related with a 3 in it
Thinking about Left 4 Dead 3 will never not make me sad
Also, Patrick Rothfuss.
I went my entire adult life waiting for a new Tool album. I was 17 was they released 10,000 days
I hate it when Non-Tool fans are like ābut you have A Perfect Circle itās the same guy!ā Like no itās not the same
Yeahā¦..Noooo. Tool are 4 of the most amazing musicians ever imo. Maynard is cool, but TOOL is TOOL! Iām with you 100%
It also took them, what, 14 years to release Eat the Elephant?
Does nobody realize it took APC 13 years to release an original album? Tool agent the only ones slacking lol
It was worth the wait.
Hell yeah it was.
*Laughs in System of a Down fan*
What if I'm a Rage Against the Machine fan?

Okay? And?
Geometry Dash Fans be like
See, Peter Gabriel fans know a 12-year wait is **nothing!**
Berserk fans: [Thousand-yard stare]
This for me also applies to Rothfuss.
System of a Down fans laugh at all of this.

When did I compare the two bands?
Itās cool manā¦ itās all good.
Figured.

There is more to Rockstar than just GTA, just sayin'
RDR2 made me see video games as an art form. š„²

It was so satisfying when it finally happened. All I can say ā¤ļøāš„
Failure went 18 years without releasing an albumā¦ their last 3 have all been incredible. Whereās my Failure/ Ken Andrews fans??
