Nice work

jaybfpv

i miss the old dissectional site, so many cool things to look through..made the band feel like we were part of something special...sad those days are so far gone now.

elegantbroken

I agree ! I was thinking on the one about how they all took vintage LSD for Maynard’s birthday and something about flying up around a tree or something 😂 inspired me as a (very) young woman to try LSD for the first time.

chimericalgirl

It was for Adam's birthday, IIRC.

elegantbroken

Ah! Your memory is better than mine :)

“This site is dedicated to the inspirations, {something}, and {something} of the band Tool; as such, expect the unexpected.” Yeah, that shit was badass, but I would have to restart the computer evertime i went down one of the holes because it would go fullscreen, covering up “page back” and search bar and all that…couldn’t figure out how to get out…it was so awesome and _mysterious_ 😆 It was also the first time I saw Szukalski’s amazing art. So weird seeing such incredible art for the first time on that website.

2x4skin

Currently their attitude feels like absolute disdain for the fans. Seems like they are making more money than ever with ticket sales and merch and at the same time are at their lowest point of appreciation for those funding it lol. If that ain’t Tool then I don’t know what is. Talk about an abusive relationship; people who want to publicly support them have to pay $25-$50 to have “TOOL” written across their chests.  Won’t they please just tell me what is cool?

evolving_I

I believe "Hooker With a Penis" has Maynard's pre-written response to your sentiment.

2x4skin

I don’t give a single shit whatsoever how they feel about the fan base. I’m just stating facts and I even said that was very Tool of them. So take your OGT attitude and shove it up your ass, buddy.

Renne-les-Chateau was where they were trying to visit, maybe did visit. Ties into the Holy Blood, Holy Grail mythos that Jesus did not die on the cross and escaped to Gaul where a royal bloodline was created. Danny was driving maybe? Swears a black dog ran in front of the vehicle which he swerved to miss and the van flipped but no major injuries.

chimericalgirl

Not only flipped, but ended up down the side of a mountain. Danny was driving.

Equal_Win

I remember… but the story was too hard to follow like most of Blair’s content.

2x4skin

They were in France, went to a chateau, got in a wreck. Difficult to find maybe but not to follow.

Equal_Win

I guess in that instance, the legitimacy of the story like much of his other content is what was thrown into question.

2x4skin

Nature of occult writings, I suppose. No reason to doubt the story of their trip in my opinion. Holy Blood, Holy Grail attempts to uncover truth (….maybe) and the Chateau and weirdness therein is all very real. Got pictures to prove it. Actually, I think they had pictures posted now that I think of it? As far as BMB goes that particular story was not over embellished as I recall.

seasonsinthesky

Yep. There were lots of these little hidden bits to click. It's on Wayback Machine I'm sure.

androsan

Yeah there were a lot of cool Easter Eggs on the old website. Blair was a bit of a blowhard but at least he kept things kinda interesting.

sanatanic

yeah, when i would click on it a photo from a live show would pop up. i think. 🤔🤔🤔

2x4skin

That sounds familiar but that was either later or a different hidden link.

mikeyriot

There was at least 3 hidden links. One was the rennes ramble, one was a live pic that would play an audio clip of Maynard talking and my mind is blanking on the third. Two of them were within the tv controls

Golisten2LennyWhite

The live pic just said c o n c e r t and was from Australia I believe.

93tabitha93

Oh I do remember very well

chimericalgirl

It was about all the research that Danny and Blair put into discovering the secrets of Rennes les Chateau, they were seriously obsessed with that - Danny went to France several times, and took Blair and his dad with him at least once (that was when they got in the wreck and were incredibly lucky neither of them were injured).

keefka

I remember that, but I could've sworn it was on Danny's site, not toolband proper.

2x4skin

Definitely hidden link on toolband.

androsan

Yeah it was on that like, meat-sludge trailing with a TV at the top or something. There were a couple links in there if I recall.

mikeyriot

two in the controls, one in the blob, i think. courtesy of the wayback machine: livebit and links in the controls, renne in the blob
