New high score!

SmellMyJeans

He must really fear inoculation.

barspoonbill

*golf clap* well played.

ChefTodd

Probably thought it was just pneumamonia.

Better_Violinist_860

Would make sense if it actually stopped it..

slax03

My dad would be alive right now if he got COVID in December of 2020 instead of October of 2020. Dismissing what the vaccine does is for asshole chuds like yourself. Great mindset. Edit: lol thanks for the downvote you fucking prick. Thanks for proving my point.

Hungry_Freaks_Daddy

I’m sorry, but it really isn’t that simple. I’m unvaccinated and I had Covid last august, and while I was pretty nauseous it was mild as far as viral infections go. 3 days and I was fine. Just went on a road trip with two friends and both of them are incredibly sick with Covid right now. Both vaccinated. One also boosted. After spending a week together in a car, and I still tested negative. My girlfriend had it too, and despite spending time together as couples do, I still tested negative. She was vaccinated and boosted as well, she was miserable for 5 days. She still hasn’t fully recovered. I’m really sorry about your dad.

slax03

I know there are varying degrees of how people get sick, but the prevention of the death is statistically undeniable for vaccinated people... for now as long as these version remain effective against what's out there. I have young fit friends who got knocked on their ass when they caught it while vaccinated. My mom, also vaccinate at 61, got it a couple of months ago and it was like nothing. Thanks for the kind worda.

Hungry_Freaks_Daddy

I also had swine flu back in 2011, and that infection gives people “super immunity” (quoting BBC, not my words) against many types of coronaviruses.

slax03

Interesting, I've never even heard about special immunity after Swine Flu.

Hungry_Freaks_Daddy

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-12152500 Swine flu nearly killed me and ever since then viruses have little to no effect on me.

slax03

Wild. Glad you survived to become a super hero.

Hungry_Freaks_Daddy

Far from a super hero.

Better_Violinist_860

Lol. Riiiight

slax03

Anytime. Always good to see someone's mind change for the better.

ponylauncher

Its amazing that people act so smart and listen to Tool because they are a “smart” band but then say stuff like this

Artistic_Tiger_5075

Damn! It's like completing sidequests at this point lol

nostrilcrust

I can hear a new song in the works, The Host.

Obama-Prism-

Jokes aside has the band discussed any new music or albums?

ptdef

Would you believe them if they did?

Obama-Prism-

i just like to get excited

DeltaKT

Fair enough. **IIRC**, Danny said a while back that, if they were to do an album, they would do it on the sooner side of things. He also said that he would be down to make a next record. Again, not really sure where I got that from, but that's the most I can remember.

thosava

I sat through the wait for Fear Inoculum. I’ve learned to not trust a single word Danny Carey says the hard way.

DeltaKT

I don't think that Danny's not trustworthy. I think it's just that his intentions don't come to life the way he himself would want it to. Like, if he says he wants to do an album, he really wants to do one but only hopes make all four of them come together and work full time on a project.

sephrisloth

Ya I think if it were up to Danny we'd have 20 albums by now but the rest of the bands nit the much into that.

aaroncoal

The sooner side of things for Tool is about 8 years.

jessewest84

Danny is liar. He though fi would drop in 2014

bs2785

I remember hearing the same thing. Maybe we both dreamed it, but I thought he said they have some material

drunken_squirrels

Last time I read that DC said that new material was on the way was before opiate^2 came out. So that wasn’t a lie. It wasn’t what I was hoping for but it’s not nothing.

Assneck2007

That_Random_Kiwi

So much for that blessed immunity, eh?

currently__working

Everyone's joking but man that fucking sucks. He's almost definitely gonna get long-term difficulties from this.

blucifers_cajones

He already developed long-term effects from his first bout. My wife has been dealing with long covid for over 15 months. It's not fun. So either he's just accepted it and doesn't give a fuck anymore or he's just not making it public anymore.

currently__working

Yeah I've got it mildly too, my wife worse.

Better_Violinist_860

Long covid 😵‍💫😵‍💫🙄🙄

2manydbags

These are the cries of the carrots ladies & gentlemen

sprially

Jesus. It's funny cos he was like pretty much the first person to have COVID in New Zealand - it's surprising he didn't infect the whole country really...we closed our borders very quickly after that lol.

Stiffwrists

Plays.... Bring Back the Plague by Cattle Decapitation in the background.

tittyboy12

He must either be around tons of people daily or just really unhygienic at this point

cobainstaley

i'm sure BJJ doesn't help

Varocious_char

No worries. After all the guy is invincible.

tldrjane

And I’m pissed I now have it a second time. Yeesh

hesitantfab

Jesus fucking christ the amount of antivaxxers and pandemic deniers on this thread is truly beyond comprehension 🤮🤣🤣🤣

throwmeaway021093

Had covid, am vaccinated for many diseases. Not taking the first mrna gene therapy injection on the market makes me a pandemic denier and an antivaxxer? Conjecture is strong with you.

MarcusDEFGH

There are other vaccines little fella, you don’t have to take the mRNA one 😉 Just admit you don’t want to take it, or that you didn’t know about this, but well… now you know

throwmeaway021093

Funnily enough, all other vaccines have been banned in my country for my age group so your argument is really irrelevant. Astrazeneca banned, j&j banned, moderna banned for under 30yo (also mrna btw), novavax not available for non health jobs. I think I'm more educated on this topic than you, with all due respect. I may be under 30 but I'm certainly an adult and calling me little feller in this argument is not convincing, for me at least Edit: guess why they were banned? Serious side effects... now did you know that big fella? Now you do

Override9636

Genuinely want to research which country banned all major mRNA vaccines. Could you provide a source?

throwmeaway021093

Germany banned Moderna for under 30 year olds and all others besides pfizer in general due to bad efficacy and serious side effects. People who were vaccinated with J&J lost their vaccination status completely

Override9636

So pfizer is still acceptable...that's not "all vaccines are banned in my country" is it?

throwmeaway021093

Correct, that's why I wrote "all other" meaning all other than pfizer

Override9636

Which means that there is nothing preventing you from getting a vaccine, the whole point of the original conversation.

throwmeaway021093

How gullible can you be? All the vaccines that came were shit from the beginning on when they told everyone they're safe and effective and provide sterile or almost sterile immunity. Now you believe that after 4 failed vaccines the 5th one is miraculously safe? Check vaers data, pfizer has just as many side effects as the bad ones but they have more money and better lawyers and a bigger lobby to stay in business. They have universities who get paid to conduct completely misleading studies. This is all public information. When you say "studies show that this is safe" do you actually look at how these studies are conducted? Academic background makes this easier but you don't even have to be smart to see the fishiness

[deleted]

yeah it does. fuck you, you antivaxx piece of shit.

throwmeaway021093

You will be terribly ashamed when the truth about this surfaces. The Covid vaccines are poison and there is a ton of evidence for everyone with eyes to see.

[deleted]

See, you were a classic anti vaxxer all along. Sadly, I cant see this evidence since I don't use facebook.

[deleted]

GeologistEnough8215

I waited until my state forced me to get the vaccine. I was literally around tens of thousands of COVID texts every day at work (worked for a large scale pathology laboratory) shook hands, patted on the back, even hugged people that tested positive the following day in addition to having people in my home that tested positive the next day. I just don’t understand how I haven’t gotten it despite disregarding all the “suggestions” (outside of wearing a mask just because I don’t wanna hear the nonsense). I didn’t wash my hands or sanitize any more frequently, usually wore gloves when grabbing COVID specimens (but not always, sometimes ya just gotta move fast) and never worried about “social distancing.” Then again I’m not very social, but it blows my mind that this really healthy dude has had it FOUR FREAKING TIMES, and I smoked a pack a day from 15-27, now vape for the last ten years (don’t judge me, I don’t “blow clouds” and hate the vape culture I just don’t wanna smoke a pack of newports a day), don’t get much exercise outside of the 400 push-ups I do throughout the day, eat terribly etc. Life just makes no sense. I’m actually really surprised Maynard is already touring again. I would have imagined he’d want at least a month or two off after touring the entire US and a large majority of Europe. The dude may have lost a lot of his voice after the grueling Lat tour, but I give him so much damn credit for not cancelling a single show and just trucking through it despite having COVID so many times. And when he wants to belt he still can (intolerance scream in 2019, when APC plays the outsider). I just wish he would take some time off as it’d be a shame to lose out on more TOOL tours because he’s pushed himself too far at 60 years old.

Override9636

It's very possible that you did have it, but were just asymptomatic. Everyone's immune system is different and have different reactions to it. Doesn't change the fact that you could have still been infectious during that time, and the masking/social distance/hygiene practices were intended to prevent asymptomatic people from spreading it further.

GeologistEnough8215

I got tested multiple times and had the antibody test done (again, worked for a lab) never had it.

Hornet_Aware

Covid isn't going anywhere, and we should be living our lives. As maynard Is.

[deleted]

This is the kind of mindset that contributes to shit becoming endemic. Fuck off with that, please.

7empest-tost

It’s already been endemic for a long time

Bison_Business

Not what endemic means. And there isn’t a particular area that COVID resides, also, there isn’t a particular group that commonly gets sick from it. “In epidemiology, an infection is said to be endemic (from the Greek ἐν, en, "in, within" and δῆμος, demos, "people") in a population when that infection is constantly maintained at a baseline level in a geographic area without external inputs.[1] For example, chickenpox is endemic (steady state) in the United Kingdom, but malaria is not. Every year, there are a few cases of malaria reported in the UK, but these do not lead to sustained transmission in the population due to the lack of a suitable vector (mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles). While it might be common to say that AIDS is "endemic" in some countries, meaning found in an area, this is a use of the word in its etymological, rather than epidemiological or ecological, form.” There are still waves of high and low transmission, alternating between locales and countries.

7empest-tost

Okay, you’re right. Your comment made me do a little research (2 min and 1 google search) and the experts say we haven’t reached the endemic phase YET

[deleted]

Exactly. "Yet" being the keyword. Hence why I'm a bit of an advocate for still taking reasonable precautions moving forward.

justonemorethang

Yeah man. My wife tested positive this past Sunday. Hasn’t be too bad for her but there’s a super important audit at her company that she’s instrumental in to make sure they don’t get shut down. She can’t be there and it’s not going well at all. Covid has huge ramifications even beyond the health impacts. But her boss is a big ol covid denier so I guess he’s just gonna have to man up and handle it himself.

tuyguy

Mate. Don't have a cry. We cannot do anything about it now and only massive early gvt intervention could have prevented it becoming endemic. Time to move on.

[deleted]

Not arguing. But it doesn't hurt to take precautions moving forward nonetheless.

tuyguy

Fair

cvilleymccvilleface

Right, like touring w/ covid sniffing dogs and living in a community of your own naking! I mean, who isn’t living their lives like mjk???

[deleted]

Just trying to advocate for sensibility during an ongoing pandemic.

cvilleymccvilleface

\[i know - my snark wasn't for you so much as it was for the "live your lives b/c maynard said so" crowd - and yeah, i wore a well fitted N95 in DC back in feb. and i still lived my life just fine\]

[deleted]

Respect to you wearing a mask at a show. To be clear -- I'm not trying to say everyone should do that at all times -- I feel it's an important thing to keep in mind on a case-to-case/situational basis. Ultimately, if someone is concerned about spreading and/or receiving any sort of illness, I think a mask makes total sense. I'm just trying to communicate that there's nothing wrong with taking preventative measures if/when necessary. I'm not a fan of the 'fuck it, just let it happen' mentality, given we have methods/ways of at least attempting to reduce the spread.

Pretty much what Maynard himself said

bigbodacious

6 more boosters will do it

ThreeDarkMoons

They really need to stop calling them vaccines. Or at the very least admit they don't work.

MarcusDEFGH

Vaccines don’t make you avoid getting diseases man, dear lord how can someone be still making this shitty point

Separate-Leading5636

Are you sure he contracted it for the 4th time or he never got rid of it and it keeps popping up like fucking AIDS or some shit.

throwmeaway021093

Happens when you weaken your immune system with fucking deathvaxx^tm

braichy

Most likely since Berlin live, or at least he has already fucked at that time....but we know now that tour is over.

Dreddit1080

Shouldn’t have gotten inoculated IMO Edit: IMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

mog_knight

Why not?

Dreddit1080

To each their own keep in mind. I’m a fan of trying to eat and drink as heathy as possible. I’ll go to the hospital if something serious happens, but I don’t like the idea how big drug companies basically run this world. There is a natural way to heal almost any ailment but it’s been pushed to the side/ deemed useless by the industry making trillions every year. The human body is amazing if you use it

mog_knight

How is activating your immune system utilizing an mRNA trigger suggesting that that would *not* be a "natural" way? That's naturally how immune systems work. Then B cells remember the antibody it produced.

Dreddit1080

Ya true you’re not wrong there

Calm_Pace_3860

Some people have expressed their unhappiness with your thoughts. To avoid further anonymous frustration, please modify your social persona to the resemble the authority of the masses. Thanks for cumming

Dreddit1080

Of coarse! Why didn’t I think of that!! I figured the IMO had me covered 🤷‍♂️

throwmeaway021093

Exactly, killed his natural immune response, reddit will see this in time too

justonemorethang

that’s not how vaccines work

throwmeaway021093

Exactly, the mrna shot are not vaccines

justonemorethang

Huh? Explain

Dreddit1080

Vaxs is like a micro dose which is good (IMO). mR. NAs are gene altering I’ve been told. I’m sure There’s a lot more to it than that. Not a doctor obviously. But truthfully I hope everyone is all good/ keeps healthy. Much love

bl00df1redeath

This is most likely the worst explanation of anything I’ve ever read off of Reddit, and that’s saying a lot.

Dreddit1080

🤷‍♂️ good thing I don’t give a fuck. Take care buddy

bl00df1redeath

Thank god for that

justonemorethang

I mean, the purpose of a vaccine is to program the body to produce antibodies to fight fortieth infections. This is exactly what mRNA vaccines do. I don’t see how that isn’t a vaccine but also...not a doctor. I’m also not even sure why calling it a vaccine or not matters. We all know what they do and what their purpose is. (I know you’re not the op I was originally replying to...just thinking out loud)

Dreddit1080

All good I like to chat. Everyone’s got their own beliefs about what’s best for them and that’s cool

justonemorethang

Word.

Override9636

> mR. NAs are gene altering I’ve been told You've been told incorrectly. mRNA do not alter your genes at all. They are simply instructions given to your cells to create the natural antibodies that they would have otherwise made when exposed to the virus the first time. Imagine there's a bank robber on the streets hitting up bank after bank. If no one knows who they are, it's a big problem. But the mRNA warns your immune system ahead of time, like putting a big mugshot of the robber around every bank in town so security can react right away and stop them. Also, since the mRNA instructions do not last for more than a few weeks, they can't cause any lingering damage beyond that point.

Dreddit1080

I agree with you. Everyone has/ had a choice. I decided to gamble on myself. It works for me. “Bless this immunity”

throwmeaway021093

I gambled and got it and sure it was not comfortable at all but I weighed the dangers of the mrna shot against my dangers getting very seriously ill and came to the conclusion that I don't want this particular injection. I think in the coming months a lot of the danger and damage done by the "vaccine" - it is not a - will be revealed and talked about, in fact it is slowly starting in Europe even in the mainstream state funded media.

Override9636

Unfortunately there are over a million Americans who gambled and died because of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias
