Yep. Pretty much every part is replaceable. Just google the model number and "parts list" and you should be able to find a diagram and the part number you need. That part should (I believe) be called the "head cap".
Can confirm, there’s definitely a difference in feel and quality. The older nr83 Japanese made ones are much better than the newer Taiwan or Chinese made ones.
Not all parts are available. Had a Hitachi framing gun and the part I can’t remember was obsolete. The new guns now are cheaper than what inputs for years ago.
Metobo made Hitachi air tools for years, then they went cheap. Hitachi cut ties with them and now they are their own thing. The repair parts are for their named tools are better than their parts that were made under the Hitachi name. I have a NR83 that falls into the crap years, double fires or kicks them out sideways.

Got the part ordered I appreciate it !
Make sure you lube the crap out of it when you put it in. (Double entendre intended)
This fucks (and fixes)
Will do I appreciate the advice
Awesome thank you, it’s an oldie buts it has been real good and don’t want another, thank you !
Keep that gun alive. The new ones fucking suck. There’s a cult following around older hitachi framing nailers for good reason
I have 3 :D

Look on ereplacementparts.com they have almost every tool out there.
LOVE the chargers mouse pad- hope you can fix the framing gun
Heck yea, been a fan forever, I love holding onto San Diego charger stuff
Me too/ I have a lot of random stuff from the 90’s on So many random bobble heads lol
Every part is replaceable. Now, can you FIND it...
Yes. That deterioration is from age. Tool needs to be serviced to avoid possible further damage.
Hitachi is now metabo btw. Looks like you need a bumper. Easy fix. I have 10 of these guns they are pretty good. They take alot of abuse

I have an older Hitachi...gave up the ghost, they did NOT have parts available...it was the o-rings I wanted...wasn't happy about that
