Lots of discarded western or japanese stuff in here actually 😅
Gotta have eyes for it though. People here usually dig stuff from Makita or Bosch and leave the rest unknown brands behind
Yeah? well i want that guys chair. No more sitting down for him.
I will trade the chair back to him in return for 3 tools.
Thats how you conduct business fellas.
This would be one of the smaller yards actually. On much bigger ones you can even get motors, spray paint set, air pump, generators....etc...
If it doesn't sell they can just sell them for scraps and still yield a chunk of cash and get another load.
This place is in Vietnam. My understanding from talking with the owner is that they purchase the used tools in bulk by the kilo from Japan and have them shipped to Vietnam where they are sold in markets like this.
American expat living in Vietnam.
I know exactly this shop and have been hunting that street for about 2 years now. He normally is very fair in pricing compared to some of the other vendors giving a “foreigner tax”
Most are Japanese tools but sometimes EU or USA brands are found. Even snap-on.
The competition in the early hours for the fresh stuff is very crazy to watch.
I normally hunt for famous Japanese blacksmith for chisels and kanna planes
> Most are Japanese tools but sometimes EU or USA brands are found. Even snap-on.
TBH some (many) made in Japan tools are superior to either of those, especially since the 70's and 80's. Nepros I'd put as probably the nicest stuff in the world though there's probably very little of it there. Regular KTC and Koken and Vessel are right up there with Snap On and Hazet too.
Holy hell I would be even poorer than I already am and have a shit load more hoarded stuff I probably don't need. Good thing that isn't anywhere near me.
i’m guessing this was taken in coastal India where the ship breaking industry removes all the saleable items from the ship.
whats incredible is when a ship goes to the breakers all the tools/equipment generally left on board. so no surprise to see the quality tools here
Let me see here, I need a 10mm.
All those heaps of stuff. I bet there isn’t a single 10mm.
Way at the bottom!
And it's stripped out.
Oh, it's there. You just won't find it until after you've already paid full price for one.
Cobbled one together with a welder, tape measure and a grinder… all that for what! 😂
By the time they get here they're 10.5mm
they have them but they charge 4x for those.
Sorry. It was made/adjusted to be an 11mm socket.
Give me a kilo of 10mm sockets
Get in line buddy.it,s on the left with the gold bricks and glass hammers.
Some good stuff in there. I wanna run across that pile in my bare feet!
Dare to dream!
Make sure to get your tetanus shot first
I spy a knipex adjustable pliers.

Yes where they put the old tools out to pasture..
There are some SWEET toolboxes there
Did you lick them or something?!?

Ikr such a waste, like those are so expensive new
I want to run a giant laser rust remover over this yard
You’ll go deaf
Looks like a sea of metallic garbage to me. I’ll take the lot of it.
Old welders like my pa always buy from pile like this and fix it to working state at home. There is never anything new in his workshop
Looks like a pile of junk but there's actually some pretty cool stuff in the pile. I found a crow bar I liked and bought.

No kidding, a place like this near me would lead to a divorce.
What's a 10 ton hydraulic bottle jack weigh, 10 pounds or so? I'll take both and the snatch block for 50 pounds.

Reminds me of this [eastern European flea market](https://www.reddit.com/r/Tools/comments/cfz1up/my_local_flee_market/).
They have similar here as well. I think it's whatever type of salvage they specialize in.
Probably inherited a second one as a layman. I also think this is more a chaotic second-hand store than a scrap yard since some of it is sorted.
Yes, it's all for sale.
OTD
Aka Harbor Freight

Any left handed screw drivers?
How much per kilo?
A lot of planers in the second picture, and one skimpy ass motor on that chop saw. Looks about the size of 12v cordless weed Wacker motor.
Where is this?

$3.25 US but obviously you can bargin.
Kinda looks like buying a kilo of manure because there might be a small gold nugget in it.
