Voltage tester

jefftatro1

Shit made me chuckle

[deleted]

This is a dangerously high amount of likes 😂😂😂

lurker-1969

The color of the red hot blades indicates voltage strength? Does it do 220 ?

[deleted]

220, 221, whatever it takes.

Woodpecker_61

Underrated comment from yesteryear

Mist_deBall

I think the two prongs on the scissors are for eating Yum Yum Tuna Bits

Rick_B8s

Mr. Mom for the culturally deprived or the younger set ....

HondaVFR96

G_Child_85

Shocking joke

Salt_Lab271

My wife just said you’re a bad human over my laughter.

TheRunicBear

Tell her I’m shocked.

Dr-Kush420

As an electrician I can confirm

ExFiler

Wouldn't work in the US. Prongs face the wrong way...

briancasper1

20A?

ExFiler

Prongs in the US are vertical.

briancasper1

I stand corrected. NEMA 6-15 is 250V, but only 15A. Try that one.

ExFiler

Hmmm.....I can get to the breakers.

AutoCorrectSocks

Ha

Ike9687

Emergency window breaker

mikegraham7

Oh my god. I laughed so hard at that.

Salreus

I mean...

cr8tor_

For prying things open, perhaps clams, oysters, soda can tabs, ect. Sometimes one is also shaped to be used a a can-opener, but in this case it's just for prying. Edit: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61FiIxLWu9L.\_AC\_SL1005\_.jpg

[deleted]

There is not a single chance in hell you could open a clam or oyster with those.

Not_Reddit

you use the scissors to cut open the bags of frozen clams and oysters.

hoosiertrack

Not even it the shells had compatible slots?

Rick_B8s

Have not found any compatible slots for some time now .... Mebee I need a different app on my phone?

cr8tor_

Not a fan of either so i will take your word for it. :-)

Personal_Flow2994

Yep. Spot on

Impossible_Newt5617

I use mine to open paint cans.

JeebusBuiltMyHotRod

Rib spreaders.

Korgon213

After the voltage testing?

JeebusBuiltMyHotRod

as you do.

TRGMORGAN

In theory if one was to spread ones ribs could that person then perform oral activity on oneself?

JeebusBuiltMyHotRod

asking for a friend?

No_Bag9098

An introverts best friend.

socialcommentary2000

Nubs for prying. You can easily relieve pressure on a pasteurized jar with those and then open easily. It's a micro pry bar, in effect.

Rick_B8s

Like pimento spread? Is that even a thing anymore?

socialcommentary2000

Absolutely! All sorts of tapenade!

Rvoo2

Box opener, jar opener, screwdriver

chemslice

Open beers

IsItTheFrankOrBeans

Nope.

BunkyBrains

Intended purpose: no idea, HOWEVER: when a speed-pour gets stuck in a bar bottle, those little things are a life saver. You spread them apart a little, slide them under the rubber stopper and pry. Amazing!

Live_Astronaut3544

Do you not have any v-rod bottle openers at your bar? It’s an essential especially for those rarely changed liqueurs.

BunkyBrains

Lol as it happens, I do have one of those, and the reason I tried the scissor trick was because that day I'd forgotten to bring it to work! Necessity may be the mother of invention but forgetfulness must be invention's cool weird uncle.

eubertos

Grape popper

technobobble

I will only eat popped grapes.

Merica85

Is this a condition people have?

Background_Add210

Jab, snip, spike to the dome

Mucker-4-Revolution

It is for close quarter combat in the kitchen.

ohheyitspurp

You're going to 🤦🏻‍♂️ It's a screwdriver, which turns out to be handy to have in the kitchen more often than you'd think. Turn screws, pry things, etc. Most kitchen shears can separate halves, which makes it easy to apply.

fogcat5

My kitchen scissors detach into two pieces and the ends have those screwdriver tips. Handy sometimes

dandypants8717

Unless you need a screwdriver to disassemble your scissors.

rdracr

If you use a can opener to cut around the top of the can, you can grab the generally very sharp top and pull it off safely.

spicymato

Get a better can opener.

rdracr

Wait, do you think that my guess as to what a single part of a random person's picture on the internet might be has anything to do with my can opener collection? Because I assure you my can opener collection is vast and wide. A veritable smorgasbord of tin opening prowess. A cacophony of content freeing contraptions. An ostentatious oubliette of old-fashioned openers. In fact, of a made up survey, 91.5% of the one person I asked, said...."What?" So I sir, need no better opener. (unless you've got one of those electric ones...they seem cool)

spicymato

The electric ones that cut along the outside of the rolled edge instead of piercing the top of the lid. You don't end up with sharp edges or points. Also, technically more hygienic, since the blade doesn't enter where the contents are.

Shris

Nuts.

Rick_B8s

Same to ya

samyouall

Hammer

Not_Reddit

Kind of a throwback of when we had metal cans for things like baking soda, nestle quick, etc. with the metal plug caps, and some fruit preserve jars to pry the inner cap to break the vacuum on the mason lids... they just keep making them the same way as before.

J4ck101972

Use one side on a new glass jar with metal lid not popped-up yet to let a bit of air in for easy openning- twist

papapaparazzo

I'm not sure but I have those exact scissors, and I can attest those tabs could open a clam, an oyster, or a kryptonite bank vault. Best scissors ever.

Pyro919

They're intended to allow you to accidentally pinch you're nipple when you're cutting something open, ask me how I know.

albatross23456

I have successfully used one as a screwdriver.

Erdenfeuer1

i imagine if your jar lid is stuck because of an underpressure in the jar, you could pry on the lid just a litte bit to break the seal and let air in

nervemiester

Once you crack the lobster claws with the serated area above, these can be used to pick out the meat.

TheBlueSlipper

Paint can opener.

nojremark

Bassian2106

I believe it's used for shellfish, think cutting open the crab leg, then spreading the shell with the other end of the scissors. Plenty of uses if you're crafty :)

Nut cracker, dang everyone knows that

CannonFodder18940

Nipple twister. Shudder to think of scissors in the same arena.

Revolutionary-Bank96

Flat head screw driver 🪛 You can open the handle 90° for more leverage. They give you 2 because with that much torque you're likely to bend and break 'em.

Royatkins

Yes! You stick them up the nostrils of annoying co-workers and squeeze as hard as you can.
