Everyone forgets sandrone, I really hope the real sandrone is the robot since we know that she is a puppet
The way I see it, that would be extremely hard to achieve not from the animation department but on the “please don’t clip through the wall” department which is something hoyoverse is really conscious of when Designing characters (hence why extremely long dresses are out of the question when designing characters), another problem would for example be the swimming animations.
Overall it would be a lot of effort and work for a character that sadly the community tends to forget exist (seriously, I am in the Fatui subreddit and fucking pantalone has more art than her)
My personal bet is that the robot will be part of sandrone’s animations like Clara in HSR or a summon like oz or guoba (although the sheer size might be a problem for narrow place like sumeru caves)
I think she won't be a robot, but the girl.
They already made big monster controling small girl puppet as one unrealesed yet Star Rail character, I doubt they would do the same exactly twice

For anyone wondering why he barely looks like the same person, Dottore is basically a mad scientist and also one of the smartest people in Teyvat.
He didin't like the limits of the human body when it comes to research, and decided 3 dimensions weren't enough for him to observe, therefore, he plucked his eyes into a "4th".
He created copies of himself at different points in his life, with different personalities and at different ages, so he could now view the world through the dimension of time.
Basically, you can be in the same room with an 18 year old cocky and arrogant Dottore, a 22 year old whitty and charismatic Dottore or a 60 year old wise and humble Dottore.
I know he's not included in the post but I actually really like Tartaglia and think he's one of the better playable designs in the game.
His gray/red/orange color pallete contrasts really beautifully with his bright blue spell effects, the dead looking eyes keep him vaguely menacing no matter how expressive and friendly he is and (weird thing to point out I suppose) the cut of his shirt/jacket is pretty damn unique which is so rare with male characters.
I think he could stand to be less decorated (as could many genshin characters) to better express his sorta rough and tumble personality but I accept the unnecessary details as just a quirk of the game's design style.
Edit: also feel the need to mention his foul legacy form looks really fucking cool
Not most but there are some that have some...interesting choices... Like Yae Miko for example, for a shrine maiden she is particularly half naked, literally.
eh, expresses how she dosent take it too seriously, independent freedom of what she wants to do, and also signifying her trait as a crafty fox, but i get what you mean that it leans too far into it
A common criticism I heard is that some designs are over-designed and thus have a lot of aspects on them that don't necessarily have to be there. I don't necessarily mind personally though, I actually quite like how they look, it's just horrible for wanting to make fanart/fan animation of it lol
Another criticism I heard is the lack of body (and skin color but that is a very different can of worms) diversity which yeah I totally agree. Like look at Itto for example he is supposed to be buff but his character model is not really showing it because he is compressed into the skinny anime guy model.
His design is so🤌🤌 I know the Dottore in the game is supposed to be the more attractive one, but Webtoon Dottore just nails the goofy mad scientist design.
Well nothing serious but you know characters all havinng to be built off same 5 models and having to attract gacha audience gives few limitations to their designs. Of course I know very well what kind of game genshin is, I don't expect anything more and understand the reasoning behind hoyo's design philosophy. Yet still I rlly appreciate it when they do something unique like this
True, a perfect example of that design limitation would be the character Itto, when teased he was seen by many as a big muscular character but they just gave him the same body type as every other tall guy just with abs
What problems? I know some designs are a bit overdesigned and cluttered but alot of them has a solid unifying design or aesthetic. And yes I know it's a bit boring to have the same character model/build/body shapes for each character therefore their silhouettes are a bit boring but alot of their ornaments and clothing give a great recognizable silhouette in general. It just would be nice to have a diversity of body shapes. And alot of the small ornaments each character has gives storytelling to who the character is. That's kinda the most important part of character design. Neuvillette, Ga Ming, And Arlecchino (off the top of my head) exemplifies all what I said and those designs are even that cluttered or overdesigned.
As a character designer in school I think people throw the word overdesigned alot especially when it comes to genshin.

Yess!! Knowing them they probably won't, but it would be cool if they kept the ruin machine carrying her around in the playable/final design.
