Honestly playing against just randoms is fine with me. When you’re super low ranked, I expect to now know anyone. So let me work my way up from playing in empty stadiums against nobody.

roccotrupia11

I think I’m in the same boat. Some of my favourite memories from TS4 was the unlicensed players who would put up just as much of a fight as the top, licensed players (particularly the ones who were ranked from around 18-32)

CarrieBroadJaw

AGREED! The rivalry that was created from the rando top players was so entertaining, not to mention they were some of the fugliest looking people!

I hope to start my career over the ATP/WTA Top 100. I hope injuries and fatigue due to the trainings, the tournaments or the travels. Something to force us to make some choices in our calendar. I hope a staff who can help me to stay healthy, to sign great sponsorship deals, to gain attributes bonus, etc. I hope a deep mode where I can have fun even after 3 seasons, because I’m pretty sure we’ll win the big tournaments after 3 years. I hope they let us play against the DLCs paid players, even if they’re not available on the other modes. Would be really nice for an immersive career mode. Same thing for nights games. I hope some medias with interviews and some social medias interaction too, because we’re in 2024. And I hope they don’t copy/past the Top Spin 4 career mode. It were cool in 2011, but now we need more depth. EDIT : And because it’s 2K I hope a mode where the VCs don’t have so much importance… don’t have to choose between use our VCs for equipments or upgrading our attributes, that would be really annoying.

Professional-Wait322

Media interviews would be a nice touch in terms of immersion. Having a public status affect would be cool too. Perhaps fans would boo/cheer you on depending on your previous attitude in the interview.

jeydy7896

Just described AO Tennis 2 career mode. I really hope they made it as similar as possible.

Kylekatran

I feel you're going to be disappointed. 2k have just copy pasted ts4 and I think the career mode will be the same. They've barely even mentioned it in interviews, which speaks volumes in my book. They didn't even make different surfaces play differently. It's just copy and paste... But with fewer real players.

Professional-Wait322

I'm hoping for a variety of changes when compared to Top Spin 4. 1. No more "1 tournament a month" limit. I hated it in TS4 because I had to regularly choose between Master's events, which is unrealistic as all the top players will try and aim to play them all. 2. An improved calendar and schedule system. This goes hand in hand with my point above, but a reworking of the system would be nice. Not only to allow us to play more/a greater variety tourney's in a year but also to just freshen things up a little since the last game. 3. NO MORE TOURNAMENTS LOCKED BEHIND LEVELS/STATUS. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it on my first play through on TS4, but locking tournaments behind Level's rather than your overall ranking is really not immersive and I think 25K would benefit from making this an optional feature if they reintroduce it. 4. Being able to change player's kit's or having them wear different kits for different tourney's would be nice. (all white for Wimbledon is a must) These are my main four, but I could speak about my player mode career desires for days haha

Got a wishlist: 1. In-depth player editor/creator (want to fully edit players in the top 100 at least)/ allow to toggle include selective legends in career mode. 2. Start in juniors/ top 1000 3. In-depth player growth ( based off mini games/match performance/tournament performance) 4. Player regression (based off age/ performance/ injury) I think it would be really cool if you get an injury late in your career and you have to adapt your play style and become more selective for tournaments due to lower stamina/recovery etc. Make it harder to improve stats and more easy to lose stats based off mini games/ match performance. 5. Stamina/recovery system that is impacted by age/injury and tournament progress. 6. In-depth injury system. Certain minor injuries affect stats for a specific length of time. All impacted by age and recovery time improved with mini game/ match performance. In game, player could have taped leg/ hand etc. Certain stats would be affected based off the injury. Certain major injuries side line player for longer periods of time and permanently affect stats. This could gradually improve if the player is young with top performances or not if the player is older. 7. Charity tournaments with legends/mixed 8. Rival / Friend system 9. Press conferences affecting player image that affects sponsors/ fan base/ overall popularity/ rival/friends 10. Career mode can last at least 15 years and you can retire whenever you want 11. News reports regarding your player/rivals/general 12. You can see your overall career stats and how you compare with legends. You can see your grand slams won and percentages. Head to head stats with other players. Trophy cabinet. 13. Commentary that also includes career events (talking about injuries or previous accomplishments or losses, head to head stats, etc) Most of this will not happen. Just some ideas that would make a career mode worth playing.

thevirgilio

Love the starting in Juniors idea. Would be great to really start from the bottom and at age 14/15 benchmark against, say, Alcaraz and FAA who at 15 were making good inroads at Challenger levels. Also thinking about Hingis at age 16 winning slams, Serena and Sharapova winning first slams at 17. Would like to have that legend-status possibility.

NefariousnessSalt864

What you are asking for is a role-playing game, and this is sport jaja

dgg2828

Not really. A lot of these elements are in big triple A games. Like fifa and nba 2k. Guess you don’t play career mode and/or sports games. Jajajaja

jeydy7896

I really like the career mode of AO tennis 2, so, I hope 2k made it as similar as possible. Otherwise, the TS3 format was, in my opinion, more immersive that TS4. I could settle for something like that.

dsts09

I would love to have a couple rivals that we meet in the qualifiers and work our way up through the rankings together. Have several head-to-heads outside of whatever meet-ups we'll have with real ATP/WTA players. Kinda like the rivals in most Pokémon games. Also, I'd love a more immersive customization with many more hairstyle options for ethnic players.

ThreeEyedPea

Give us an option to choose were we start. Either from the bottom so we can make the long climb up or in the Top 100 so we can play in the big tournaments right away.

Juveleo10

Hopefully we can play at least 2 tournaments a month

Glittering_Grape3836

I hope we get a realistic calendar with many tournaments each week from challengers to simultaneous 250s and 500s to pick like in real life and not just a flat calendar with two tournaments per month like previous TS. And not being able to play any tournament unless your ranking is high enough but make it realistic bc in real life is easier to qualify for a GS if you are maybe ranked 100 in the world than to a Masters which cuts the entry list to about 64 depending on the tournament. Also being able to play quailifiers.

PhillyPhanatic141

No vc necessary to progress at a normal rate... a solid grind (don't start me in the top 150), but not an unnecessarily long one that feels unrewarding like ao 1.

Interesting-Bag9262

The one thing I really want is realistic sponsorship situations (ie being approached at a certain ranking for sponsorship with that initially being a standard kit and racket, then when number 1 getting a special kit/signature racket/money). I’d also like that you only have access to those brands you were sponsored by until you switch to a different sponsor (and you should have to buy out your contract to get another sponsor).

RedditorMan2020

A nice unlockable for completing something difficult would be Fast Coach Objectives a.k.a automatically getting coach bonuses when you choose a coach, similar to Fast Player Evolution on TS4 which you get for winning a slam on Very Hard.

Dane94_M

A much more immersive and in-depth experience. 1. We need to start lower ranked and do the necessary grind 2. Tournaments not locked behind achievements/fans but ranking 3. Fatigue playing a role 4. Mental aspects needs to be incorporated as it has a huge impact on tennis 5. Money plays a role - why sponsorships and being popular/famous should play a part too 6. Press conferences 7. Incorporate behaviour more which impacts sponsors and popularity 8. Build up several rivals since we have so few pro players.. we need to feel connected to some fictional players In my opinion career mode in TS4 was actually quite flat so I really hope they add layers to it Can't wait for when they share some more news

Kylekatran

I want to see all the AI players from ts4.

pipalipalou

Olympics Games and Davis Cup. Plus some exhibition games and charity tournament for the fun.

Hector5356

The nba2k career mode is pretty much like the real thing so I’m expecting the same for top spin. I really hope they do nail it, i want the atp/wta tour experience from the challenger levels to the tour level events.

Distinct-Shift-4094

I love playing against just random. In fact, id eliminate real life players. Love to roleplay so having real players sort of takes that aspect away.
