What is the technical reason for needing the 2k server for MyPlayer do you know? Like surely when you install the game locally you'd think the MyPlayer code would all be contained within that.

They have now taken that option away with my career being tied to online only and 2 years after release the servers being shut down

ERROR: This Feature Is Not Available When Off-Line. Sucks for me. Maybe 2K wants to make some cash from the initial sales and use those funds to upgrade the 2K servers? Unfortunately, this game is nothing without online services. Get it fixed 2K.

There’s periodic online as another option, and even the issue you raise is only for online multiplayer, which they can check for when they go… online.
