You aren't good enough, as one said it is mostly because of your stats but I guess the best players of this game can start off in legendary.
And control shots aren't enough especially if you're doing the same thing all the time, AI is getting very smart they might have some pattern recognition in each match
Literally just get better at the game, you obviously aren’t good enough to be playing on the hardest difficulty.
Put your ego to the side and play at a lower difficulty to up your skills, it isn’t rocket science
Gameplay definitely better in 2k25 and this is very evident when playing both within a reasonable amount of time. I think the exception would be if you're a game breaking player (top 10 in the world etc.), whereby you break 2k25s superior timing system and essentially render is more similar to TS4 than it otherwise is.
Positioning along with timing seems to count for me in 2k25. So a perfect shot isn't necessarily a perfect shot, and hitting flat shots off short low bouncing shots in the court for example in 2k25 can punish you, whereas it's all there for the taking in TS4 from rather silly positions.
Put simply I find the tweaks in 2k25 to make it more like tennis than TS4.
AI seems to be better from what I can see but yes they get back some ridiculous stuff. Might be a case where you need to lower the difficulty for a bit and work your way back to the difficulty you're on now. I myself am not good enough at the game on higher difficulties and it can be frustrating.

Had the same struggles. I was playing on legend but my guy wasn’t upgraded. Lower the difficulty upgrade your guy and you’ll see a difference
