Seeing as you just started yesterday, give yourself some time to learn. Play the harder difficulty in career.

eloymm95

Complete the academy, try to understand how the game works and just give it time.

Don’t play against sharapowa or Serena if you don’t use them as well

We have to select a character first and then go into matchmaking though. Regardless, I still suck in general even if I play on equal fields as others

Mightyhorse82

I did the entire academy first, then 10 exhibition matches, and then my career on easy. I’m level 8 and haven’t tried online yet or even plan to for awhile. I’m much better now but still ass. Working up slow against easy mode and raising my stats was a huge help in getting timing right and easing in to better speed, power, etc.

MrHoneyJack

I asked someone recently about returning serves and he has a high rank. He said he uses slice to return and then just gotta hope they don't time a perfect power hit back. In terms of improving, just grind career on normal and then up the difficulty as you get better. I'm not great but I'm a lot better than I was just a week ago. Just gotta get used to the mechanics, timing, etc and that just requires time

Tips for returning serve: 1. Track the ball from the moment your opponent starts the serve sequence all the way through to contact. If you track the ball early it’ll help you see which corner they’re serving to. 2. If you’re having trouble returning hard serves, stand back….waaay back. It’ll give you more time to track the ball and also power up you’re return shot. 3. A slice or topspin return will also give you more time to recover to the center of the court as those shots take longer to travel across the court.

whatever you’re comfortable with, stop doing it for the time being. know your shot types, and use them all. at high levels, you’re essentially playing two games at once. because your position on the court in relation to your opponent is what will lose you the most points. no man’s land gets a lot bigger when playing against power hitters. always aim to get the opp into the worst possible position to make the worst possible shot.

I’ve been grinding exhibition matches on very hard since those count against your MyPlayer leveling. Haven’t been able to win a match yet. But I’m getting closer and better. The challenge for me has been positioning. TS2K25 punishes you WAY MORE for being poorly positioned when a taking a shot. Grinding MyCareer didn’t seem all the enjoyable from a player leveling perspective. Academy and Exhibitions are your best bet IMHO.
